Manifest Mascara: A Game Changer for My Lackluster Lashes?

I've got the kind of lashes that are just, well, not exactly what you'd call luscious. They're short, straight as sticks, thin, and grow in all directions. To make matters worse, I wear contact lenses and my eyes are super sensitive. So, I don't get my eyes done that often. But when I do, I need a good mascara to make my look complete.

That's why I always have a few mascaras on hand, from different brands. Today, I'm reviewing the Manifest mascara from Lavant.

WHERE TO BUY

I picked up this mascara at a local market. It's a bestseller, so it's always front and center when you search for mascaras. I mean, who needs to look for it when it's already right there? The Manifest mascara from Lavant has rave reviews, and for good reason. It's a fan favorite, and for good reason.

It comes wrapped in air-pouch packaging and sealed with a plastic cap. Don't worry about opening it, though - the packaging is designed to be easy to open. Plus, the mascara itself comes in a sleek, black and gold case that's just, well, classic.

MASCARA FORMULA

The ingredients are made in Italy, which is a nice touch. And the best part? This mascara has a generous 11.4 grams of product, which is more than most mascaras on the market. The only downside is that it's made in Belarus, which is listed on the bottom label. Still, the ingredients are listed there, too.

I was a bit skeptical about the ingredients at first, but it's actually a pretty standard list for a mascara: Aqua, Synthetic Beeswax, Paraffin, CI 77499, Acacia, Senegal Gum, Stearic Acid, Triethanolamine, Palmitic Acid, Butylene Glycol, Copernicia Cerifera Cera, Glyceril Stearate, Polybutene, VP/Eicosene Copolimer, Hydrogenated Rice Bran Wax, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Myristic Acid, Panthenol, Poly isobutene, Dimethicone, Arachidic Acid, Behenic Acid, Oleic Acid.

The Good Stuff

This mascara is a no-frills kind of deal. It's thin, straight, and compact. I'm really glad it's not fluffy, because those pesky little fibers can irritate sensitive eyes - and mine are super sensitive.

It does a great job of coating my lashes, separating each one, and layering well without any clumps. Plus, it doesn't set right away, which lets me play around with the shape of my lashes.

I'll sum up the pros:

The Effect

This isn't some cartoonish, over-the-top mascara. Although, to be honest, it was tough to talk about mascaras without referencing those silly fake lashes. This one gives a really natural look, like I'm rocking a pair of long, luscious lashes. It holds its shape well, unlike some other brands I've tried - like Sabo, which coats my lashes but can't keep them in place.

The result is a look that's elegant and sophisticated, without any of that tacky, over-the-top feel. I'm really impressed.

Removal

My regular face wash wasn't enough to get it off, so I had to add some micellar water and a gentle cleanser to the mix. And, of course, a toner to follow. This mascara isn't waterproof, so I'll have to try the waterproof version next time I'm out in the rain or snow.

The Verdict

This is a solid, no-frills mascara that gets the job done. I'd definitely recommend it. It's a great starting point for anyone looking for a reliable, everyday mascara.
