Magnit's Toy in a Cup Promotion: A Fun but Flawed Toy Set
I'm excited to share my thoughts on the latest promotion from Magnit and Magnit Cosmetics - 'Little Heroes Looking for Friends' or 'Toy in a Circle.'
If you've been following my reviews, you might remember my previous posts about our other toys, like the penguin and cat. Recently, I finally managed to get my hands on the 'Toy in a Circle' and I couldn't wait to show it to you.
It took me a while to find it, though. In my city, all Magnit stores were out of stock, except for the 'Boss Milkshake' and the Panda. Those weren't really my cup of tea, but I was determined to find the 'Toothless Dragon.'
Now that I have it, I'm eager to share my honest opinion with you. The 'Toothless Dragon' toy is a bit of a letdown in terms of quality compared to our other toys, but that hasn't stopped me from loving it!
Toy in a CircleDescription
The 'Little Heroes Looking for Friends' promotion is a fun way to collect toys and stickers. You can buy the toys until May 1st, 2018, and then they'll be removed from sale.
Magnit StickersLet's be real, collecting these stickers on purpose isn't worth it, but if you're already a regular at the magnet and stickers are easy to collect, then you should totally participate in the promotion!
Little Dreamers - these are the popular heroes from DreamWorks' animated movies, but from when they were kids. There's a little cat in boots, a toothless little baby, and so on.

Toy in a cup promotion magnetThe mug is really great and of high quality. I love it just as much as the kids love their mugs from this series!
But the toy... I've gotta say, I'm a bit disappointed!
The first thing I noticed is that the toys are way smaller than I expected. The big head sticking out of the mug makes it look like the rest of the body will be normal-sized, but it's not. They're really skinny.
Magnet Promotion StickerI've gotta say, the little guy without teeth is pretty charming on his own. The toy is soft, filled with synthetic material. They handle washing just fine, don't deform, and don't shed.
The adorable little ears are surprisingly sturdy. Unlike the wings and tail, they stay upright and don't fall over - there's some kind of plastic inside.
little heroes looking for friendsThe stitched mouth is a nice touch - I don't have to worry about the eyes getting rubbed off or coming loose, that's a definite plus. If you look closely, you can even see that the smile is stitched with black thread.
little heroes looking for friendsThe toy in a cup, dragon Without TeethLet's move on, WINGS - okay, let's just close our eyes and pretend they're not just some weird fabric scraps. They're more like fairy wings, made from two extra pieces of fabric. They're definitely not dragon wings, to be honest. They're also super thin, like a napkin - they don't hold their shape.
I've got to say, I'm not a fan of the way the little dragon's claws and ears are designed. It looks a bit messy, to be honest. Considering the full price of the toy, I expected a bit more effort in the design department. The claws and ears themselves are sewn on properly, but the extra fluff is really annoying. I'm tempted to either use a lighter to even it out or just trim it carefully.
On the tag, there's some information about how to care for the toy. I was surprised to see that ironing is strictly forbidden. However, it says I can wash it at 30 degrees. I've washed these toys at 40 degrees in the washing machine, and nothing happened.
little heroes looking for friendsI really like the little dragon! Yes, it's not perfect, but considering I got it for 99 rubles (20,000 rubles for the sticker collection don't count, as I've never bought anything just for the stickers), my complaints are a bit unfair.
The toy in a cupIf I saw this set in a network children's store, I would have definitely bought it. I still think that this set, 'Toy in a Cup', is worth its average price of 449 rubles. But until it reaches the full price of 1,499 rubles, it's not quite there. The penguin and cat are a bit better in terms of quality than the dragon, but it's still lovely, with no obvious defects.
The little dragon toyI'm thrilled to have finally bought this. No regrets about the purchase. I use it myself to drink and eat from the mug, and I occasionally give the toy to my kids to play with and try to collect the whole set.
I'd definitely recommend it to others.
