Hello everyone!
I'm super excited to share my experience of hosting my daughter's first birthday party at the Madagaskar Entertainment Center in St. Petersburg. As a planner, I booked the venue well in advance, and I have to say, it was a great decision.
The center is located at 1 Zvezdnaya St, Kontinent Mall, and they have a website here. They have locations in around 20 cities across Russia, which is pretty cool.
The St. Petersburg location is situated near the Zvezdnaya metro station, just a two-minute walk away, on the 4th floor of the Kontinent Mall. This was super convenient for us, as we live nearby and could walk there. Some of our guests had to take the metro, but it wasn't a problem at all. The mall has a lift, which made it easy for our guests with strollers to get to the 4th floor. There's also an underground parking lot, which was a relief.
Booking was a smooth process, taking around 2 weeks. I paid a deposit (1000 rubles), chose the package, room, and filled out the contract and questionnaire. I also discussed the details with the managers, and they showed us the rooms during our initial visit. There are three rooms in total, each with a unique theme. They're all bright, colorful, and kid-friendly. When you book, you'll receive invitations for each child, which was a nice touch.
Madagaskar Entertainment Center, St. PetersburgThe managers were helpful, but I have to admit, I was a bit disappointed with the way things started. We arrived at 10:30, and we were asked to wait because there wasn't an administrator on duty for birthdays. We waited a long time, and then a trainee came over and explained everything to us. It was a girl, and she was super helpful. On the day of the managers' birthday, there were a lot of people there - guys and girls. We were greeted by a guy, and he answered all our questions. They're helpful, courteous, and don't overstep their bounds.
Customer support was a bit of a challenge. I wanted to have answers to my questions in writing and over the phone. Before the birthday, I had some questions. At first, I asked them in the official VKontakte group. I only got a response after 5 days! That's just not understandable to me. As an administrator myself, if I'm late with a response in social media or on our company's email, I get a stern warning. There's only one multi-channel phone number. I'm not a big fan of that, and I'm used to written communication, which is also part of my job. I did get some answers over the phone, but for the rest, they said they'd call me back from the St. Petersburg location. I waited for the callback for around 15 hours. And then, because of the disorganization, they called me back again. I wouldn't say that's a huge minus that affected our celebration in the end, but it did happen, unfortunately.
Prices were reasonable. We ordered the basic birthday package, which included an invitation ticket for each child, a balloon for each child, rental of the banquet room for 3 hours, full access to all attractions, a congratulatory message from the animator of your choice for 40 minutes, and a group photo. The whole package deal for 999 rubles with a kid was a great value for money. The minimum number of kids is 5, and the maximum is 8. There are also two other plans that cost more and come with extra services. I also ordered a 15-minute bubble party for 1000 rubles. After the party, when I was already exhausted and almost out of energy, we were told we had to pay 30 rubles per child for the cards because the card system had just been introduced. 150 rubles might not seem like a lot, but I think the service was a bit of a stretch.
Entertainment Center "Madagascar", St. Petersburg The entertainer was fantastic. Our kids were thrilled to see the heroine from the Paw Patrol - Sky. Madagascar offers a decent selection of characters to choose from, including Peppa Pig and Mickey Mouse, and other beloved kids' cartoon heroes. I have no complaints. The entertainer really had a great time with the kids, searching for gold, visiting all the attractions, dancing, jumping over a rope, climbing into bags, and plenty of other mischief.
Entertainment Center "Madagascar", St. Petersburg Attractions were the highlight of the party. They have almost everything: roller coasters, rope ladders, trampolines, a volcano, carousels, a slide, and plenty more. Honestly, we adults were really impressed. My husband checked out all the attractions, happily sliding down the hills, and even lounging in the ball pit. At first, I was a bit worried, especially when my daughter climbed up the multi-meter volcano and slid down. However, it's worth noting that there's a staff member supervising each attraction. I'm not sure how safe it all is, but I didn't have any complaints about the safety procedures during our birthday celebration.
Amusement Park 'Madagascar', St. Petersburg Amusement Park 'Madagascar', St. Petersburg Amusement Park 'Madagascar', St. PetersburgOverall, it was an unforgettable experience. Madagascar is an awesome way to burn off energy, trust me. We literally had to carry the kids home, and it was tough to get them to leave. There were so many emotions and impressions. As for the financial side of things, I don't think 999 rubles is too much to pay for this. The foam disco was kind of optional, to be honest. Our guests were aged 3 to 5, and some of them didn't quite get it. The venue is clean, and they won't let anyone in without shoes or a top. They keep an eye on the kids. It's warm inside, so you don't need to dress them up too much. The layout is convenient, and there's a restroom nearby. The staff are friendly. Unfortunately, our photo package included a group photo, but we never got one taken. I'll be addressing this with the administration, but it's not a big deal. You can take your kid to Madagascar just for the day and leave them there for a while.
Amusement Park 'Madagascar', St. PetersburgI'd say it was a huge success under the motto 'Excellent!' I don't regret spending the money, and I'd definitely recommend Madagascar in St. Petersburg to everyone.
I'm so glad I got to share my experience with you all, and thanks for tuning in!
