My Go-To Lip Gloss for Almost 5 Years: Why I Keep Coming Back
Hey everyone, welcome to my review! I'm a total lipstick junkie, and I've been hooked on matte lipsticks for years. But I also love creamy ones, and I've got a soft spot for Belarusian makeup. Luxvisage is my go-to brand, and if you haven't tried their legendary matte eyeshadows yet, you need to check them out here.
I first came across this lipstick from BelorDesign four years ago. I already had 6 matte liquid lipsticks from this brand in my collection. What caught my eye was the unique design and gorgeous neutral shades. After a brief deliberation, I picked up two shades on a whim and headed to the checkout.
One of them became my absolute favorite (I've repurchased it four times already). The second shade was decent, but it didn't quite win me over (although I did end up buying it again in 2023).
Country of Origin: Belarus
Manufacturer: OOO 'Belor-Design', Minsk.
Where I bought it. I picked up this lip pencil at 'Mila' store, where I also restock my makeup supplies.
The price was around 7 Belarusian rubles (which is roughly 190 RUB or $2.3).
The weight is 2.3 grams.
I actually prefer the smaller size of this lip pencil. Often, when buying multiple shades of lip products, some of them end up being underused. For instance, bold colors are usually saved for special occasions and used up quickly before they expire. With this lip pencil, you don't have to worry about that.
Shelf life. 3 years.
Color palette is relatively small, with 10 shades available. Most of the shades are soft pinks and browns, but the last one, number 15, is a bold, bright red for those who're not afraid to turn heads.
Design. The packaging is a thick pencil with a sturdy plastic casing (matching the color of your lip pencil).
This thing is a total game-changer when it comes to choosing a product in-store - it saves you so much time. No need to open up each lipstick to find the right shade, it's all right there in front of you.
The silver labels on the packaging are a nice touch and they actually don't fade over time. It's clear who made this product and what it's called.
The shiny little circle on the lid is basically just advertising the lipstick.
On the side, there's a little sticker that has all the info you need - expiration date, shade number, and ingredients.
Kudos to BelorDesign for the clever design of the Satin Colors lip crayon case. It closes tightly and securely.
The stick itself is a good length, slightly curved for easy use.
My only gripe is that the lip crayon doesn't come with any protection to prevent initial tube opening.
The scent is a light, berry-like fragrance that's utterly subtle. You can only really smell it when you hold the stick up close to your nose.
The texture, application, and result are where things get really interesting. The texture is just right - not too dense, not too greasy, with just the right amount of sheen.
Pomada gives a satin, light glow that's barely noticeable on the lips, and it doesn't cake up in fine lines. The product is well-pigmented, so you don't need to layer it on – one swipe with the stick, and your lips are treated to a rich, saturated color.
Pomada doesn't dry out your lips, and that's something to be grateful for. If your lips are in a less-than-perfect state, it won't accentuate any flakiness.
Ingredients.
Octyldodecanol, Polybutene, Dipentaerythrityl Hexahydroxystearate/ Hexastearate/ Hexarosinate, Polyethylene, Ricinus Communis Seed Oil, Aluminum Starch Octenylsuccinate, Cera Microcristallina, Talc, Silica Dimethyl Silylate (nano), Acrylates Copolymer, Aroma, Magnesium Carbonate, Tocopherol, Lecithin, Ascorbyl Palmitate, Glyceryl Stearate, BHT, Glyceryl Oleate, Citric Acid, (+/- CI 15850, CI 19140, CI 45410, CI 75470, CI 77007, CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499, CI 77891, Kaolin, Mica, Tin Oxide, Synthetic Fluorphlogopite, Triethoxycaprylylsilane).
Longevity. I'd say it's got medium-lasting power – it should be able to stick around from early morning to late evening, but it's not a match for fatty foods. A light snack might be okay, but greasy grub will definitely give it a run for its money.
It leaves a mark on the cups and glasses, so you'll need to touch up your makeup after a couple of sips.
Fades evenly from the lips. I usually outline my lip contour with a lip liner (the second number pairs perfectly with the 45 pencil), and then fill in the remaining space with lipstick to prevent it from feathering. With this product, you don't have to worry about it bleeding beyond the contour.
The lipstick sits beautifully on the lips and doesn't need any extra-staying power.
Removal. You won't have any issues taking off the remaining lipstick. It comes off easily with hydrophilic oil, micellar water, or even a gel cleanser or foam.
My shades.
Tone 2 (plum). I'm absolutely obsessed with it - it's been my go-to shade lately.
I love the dusty rose color - it's beautiful and elegant.
It's not too loud or overpowering, but rather very understated. I've struggled to find a shade like this before - sometimes it's too muted, and other times it's too bold. But this one gets it just right for me, a perfect shade for any night out.
Shade 12 (copper rose). A lovely rose shade with a hint of copper.
It's perfect for autumn, when the fresh greenery in the parks starts to change to yellow and red leaves.
It's actually a bit more muted than its sibling, shade 2.
Final verdict For the price, this product is a total win - the only downside is that it could last a bit longer. Other than that, I've got no complaints. The gorgeous shades (shade 2 is my absolute fave), how easy it is to apply, and how comfortable it feels on my lips after use, all make me give this product from BelorDesign a solid 5 stars.
