I've got a confession to make: I'm totally obsessed with cups. My love for them just keeps growing stronger over time. In fact, I've already written a review about it, and it's clear that I'm hooked.
With our kitchen extension plans on the horizon, I've been upgrading my dishware and adding new cups to the mix. My husband's been encouraging me, and I've been justifying it by saying we'll need them soon enough.
For now, we don't really need them, but we're just getting ahead of the game, as they say.
I've been eyeing Seletti's tableware for ages, and I have to say, their hybrid series is seriously on point. I love the style with cups and plates made from two separate halves.
The brand's tableware looks great, but the price tag for a single tea set is over 9K, and I'm not feeling the style anymore. It seems like it's overpriced for a plate and cup combo.
So, I looked for tableware in a similar style on Wildberries and ended up buying a tea set from some Chinese craftsmen who do something similar, but at a lower price.
A stunning tea set
I decided to check out the quality and ordered... 2 identical tea sets. Yeah, I guess the quality was more visible.
The cost of a single set isn't super budget-friendly, but it's still relatively reasonable - 1241 rubles for a tea set (it's slightly cheaper now, at 1183 rubles).
The shipping took a while, and before ordering, I got a warning that I needed to confirm my documents through the government services to get the international item delivered.
I'd never encountered this before, so I put off the purchase for a while, hesitant to share my personal data with the omnipresent marketplace. Russian sellers have similar sets, but they cost around 1400-1500 rubles, and I didn't want to pay an extra ~600 rubles for 2 sets, so I ordered from the Chinese seller, providing my government services data.
The cups arrived about a month later.

But they were packaged like a delicate vase, so they arrived undamaged.
I was blown away by the material used to make these cups – it looks like fine china. I haven't seen the original cups, but I reckon the original ones might be thinner because these feel a bit thicker.
There's no manufacturer's mark on the bottom (I guess that's not a big deal for Chinese products).
The design is what initially won me over – half the cup and saucer are painted with a vibrant blue design, while the other half features delicate flowers on a white background.

Beautiful hybrid tea setThe saucer is almost identical on both sides, except for the wave pattern along the rim.
The 180ml capacity of the cup is perfect for sipping tea. At first, I thought it might be a bit awkward, but it's not – the transition doesn't cause any discomfort, even though you do have to touch your lips to it.

One thing I noticed about the tea temperature is that it cools down just like any other ceramic cup, neither faster nor slower.
I'm not a huge fan of the gold-plated handles - I would have preferred a plain white handle, but I guess you can't have everything.

✅ it's very similar to a well-known brand.
The cons are:
❌ the ceramic is a bit thick;
❌ the gold-plated handles.
I'm pretty happy with my purchase, despite a few minor drawbacks. When we had guests over who weren't familiar with the original brand, they really loved these mugs and were eager to order a set for themselves. We're enjoying using it too, so we definitely recommend it.
