Love Generation Volume Mascara

Love Generation Volume Mascara

I've tried a bunch of mascaras, but this Love Generation one really delivers. It's super easy to apply and gives my lashes a natural-looking volume without any clumping. I'm a fan of the formula - it's not too thick or too thin, just right. I've been using it for a while now and I'm still impressed with the results. My lashes look longer and fuller without looking fake.

Love Generation's Volume Mascara Falls Short of Expectations

summarizeEditor's Summary

I've been testing out Love Generation's mascaras, and the Volume Mascara is one of the more affordable options. I was curious to see how it stacks up against the Empathy and Happiness ones. After a week of use, I gotta say it's not the best performer. The formula's okay, but it doesn't quite live up to its promises. It's a decent option if you're on a tight budget, but I wouldn't recommend it if you're looking for a game-changing mascara. I used it for a week, and while it's not a total letdown, it's not worth every penny either. The Volume Mascara adds a decent amount of volume to my lashes, but it doesn't lengthen them as much as I'd like. The formula can be a bit flaky at times, and it's not the best value for money, considering the price. It's also not as good as some of the other Love Generation mascaras I've tried. Overall, it's a middle-of-the-road option that's not going to blow you away.

Hello everyone!
I've been trying out a bunch of mascaras from Love Generation, and the Volume Mascara is definitely one of the more affordable options. I was curious to see how it compares to the Empathy and Happiness ones. Let me dive into the details.
Where I bought it: a megamarket. You can also find it at Le Temps.
Price: around 230-250 rubles;
Volume: 9 ml.
Main info:
This mascara promises a volume and separation effect, which sounds great for anyone looking to add some drama to their lashes. The silicone brush has an oval shape, which is designed to coat each lash perfectly and give it a nice curl. The soft bristles are supposed to prevent smudging under the eye area, and the formula is meant to stay put all day without flaking off.
Ingredients:
One thing that caught my eye about this mascara is the ingredient list - AQUA, SYNTHETIC BEESWAX, PARAFFIN, ACACIA SENEGAL GUM, STEARIC ACID, TRIETHANOLAMINE, PALMITIC ACID, GLYCERYL STEARATE, VP/EICOSENE COPOLYMER, COPERNICIA CERIFERA CERA, POLYBUTENE, BUTYLENE GLYCOL, ORYZA SATIVA CERA, PHENOXYETHANOL, METHYLPARABEN, PROPYLPARABEN, HYDROXYETHYLCELLULOSE, CI 77499.

This mascara is a real showstopper - it's like a ray of sunshine!
I've got to say, the packaging is pretty standard, but the product inside is where things get interesting.
The brush is a bit on the smaller side, and it's made of a firm silicone material.
It's not the most impressive brush I've ever seen, but it gets the job done.
One thing that's a bit of a letdown is that the brush picks up too much product.
This can lead to a bit of a mess, especially when applying to the outer corner of my eye.
The formula is a bit thicker than I'm used to, but the classic black shade is always a winner.
One thing to note is that this mascara has a shelf life of 6 months after opening.

Using it:
I've got pretty short, straight lashes, so I'm always on the lookout for a mascara that can add some length and volume.
I'll show you how the Volume Mascara looks when applied in multiple layers.
First layerThe mascara does a decent job of separating my lashes, covering each one evenly. The layer isn't super thin, so I could leave it as is. There aren't any clumps. I noticed that Volume Mascara doesn't immediately clump my lashes, only with subsequent layers.
Volume MascaraSecond layerMy lashes look slightly fuller, but unfortunately, the length hasn't increased much. The clumping is still pretty weak.
The effect is pretty standard, nothing special. You can see that some lashes are thicker, while others have a thinner coat. Some of them are even stuck together.
Third layerI wanted to show you how Volume Mascara looks in three layers. Here, I can again praise it for its excellent separation. The brush separated the lashes that were stuck together in the previous photo. This is possible because the mascara doesn't dry instantly.
One thing that's really noticeable is the more pronounced curve that stays all day. And the length is maxed out too.
Volume is good, but this layer is already getting a bit thick. I can see some tiny clumps of mascara on my lashes. Every time I apply a new layer, I get some new "issues".
Compared to other Love Generation options, Volume Mascara was my least favorite. It has a more dense coverage due to the thick formula. My lashes don't look as natural. Plus, the brush picks up way too much. It does a great job of separating, but if I leave that gloopy mascara spot on my lashes, I need to go over it multiple times to avoid clumping.
For reference, here's a photo of where I applied 3 layers of mascara everywhere:
Empathy looks way more natural. Staying power is normal. It starts to flake off slightly by the end of the day (others didn't flake at all). It doesn't smudge or transfer onto my eyelid.
For removing it, micellar water works great – no need to rub my eyes for ages.
I didn't experience any unpleasant sensations or allergic reactions during or after use.
Volume Mascara
So, what are the pros and cons?
I think the biggest advantage of this mascara is its value for money. It's a pretty affordable option, and it does a decent job of separating my lashes. However, it's a bit thicker than some other mascaras I've tried, and the brush picks up too much product, which can lead to clumping.
The verdict:
Overall, I'd say this mascara is a decent option, but it's not perfect. It's got some flaws, like the thick formula and the brush's tendency to pick up too much product. But for the price, it's not bad. I'd give it 4 stars.
I'd recommend it if you like a more dramatic look or if you want a lot of coverage from the first coat.
Thanks for reading.
