Hello everyone!
I've finally got around to watching the third collaborative project from Barış Arduç and Hande Erçel, and I'm excited to share my thoughts. The previous two shows didn't really impress me, but maybe, just maybe, 'Love and Tears' will be the one where I finally believe in the love story of the main characters. Maybe... But that's just my initial assumption, and I'm eager to dive in and see what happens.

*****Impressions from Watching*****
Marriage is the start of a new life, full of hopes, dreams, and the beginning of a journey with the person you want to share it with. Their story with Celim and Meira started beautifully...

And their story is still going strong in public. But what's hiding behind their smiles?
"Love and Tears" 2025
I've always thought that marriage kills love, but that's not true. People kill love themselves. So, why did Selim and Meira drift apart?
"Love and Tears" 2025
When it seems like it's better to split up, and there's no room for someone in your life, just imagine what would happen if they were gone forever. Would Selim be willing to lose Meira? Could he really ask her for a divorce, knowing it would only make her illness worse?
"Love and Tears" 2025
I remember when he loved her deeply. So, why can't he make her happy again? Maybe just for a couple of months, but she'll remember their marriage as happy, and he'll do the same. Or maybe it's not necessary to pretend to love someone? Maybe love is still alive?
"Love and Tears" 2025
Will Meira take Selim's concern seriously? Will she want to fight for her life?

I was hooked from the get-go, but the disease that afflicted the main character's wife had me questioning whether this would be the end of their story or the start of something new...

I was expecting a typical soap opera storyline, but this one had some unique twists. Unfortunately, it felt a bit flat to me. The pacing was slow, and there weren't enough pivotal moments or character developments to keep me engaged. Don't get me wrong, it's a drama that focuses on the inner struggles of the characters, but I felt like it could've been handled with more energy and emotion. Maybe a dash of humor wouldn't have hurt either...

Baris Arduc and Hande Ercel really nailed their roles. She's cold, reserved, strict, and confident. He's fair, stubborn, honest, and decent. They did a great job of capturing the chill that creeps in after a few years of marriage. And they carried that emotion almost throughout the entire series. Even when the ice between them started to melt, and they began to realize that maybe the story wasn't over yet, there still wasn't any warmth, no sparks, no chemistry between them. It just felt like they were two different people...

I have to say, the supporting characters didn't really grab my attention. I mean, they were decently written, with some interesting plot twists, but I just didn't find them vibrant or well-developed enough. I couldn't connect with them on a deeper level, and even Oznur Serçeler, who's known for her roles in "Early Bird" and "Full Moon", was underutilized here. It's a shame, because she has a lot of talent.

Soundtrack really caught my attention - the romantic and heart-wrenching moments were perfectly highlighted by the corresponding soundtracks.

Another thing I loved about the series was the dialogs between the characters. They touched on some really important topics that everyone should consider and reflect on. You can live in a big house with all the comforts, but still feel lonely and disconnected. On the other hand, you can be truly happy in a small, cozy room if you have someone special by your side.
"Love and Tears" 2025
Let's be honest, sending your kid off to study abroad can be a great opportunity for them to get a top-notch education, but it's not without its costs. And then you wonder why they're not grateful for it, even though they could be appreciating the fact that you're there for them, not just a phone call away every now and then...

Or you can just go along with family traditions and tell yourself that's just the way it's supposed to be. But honestly, I'd rather forge my own path and enjoy every moment with the people who matter most...

You could spend your whole life plotting revenge against someone who wronged you, and yet still be right there next to them. But I'd rather put that energy into the people who love me, so I won't have any regrets later...

Or you could break up with someone you love, and hold onto the good memories of them. But I think it's better to try and start over, to give yourself another chance at something real...

I've gotta say, getting wrinkles on my forehead and my skin not being as smooth as it used to be is just a fact of life. You can't stay young forever, and that's something not everyone gets to experience.

"Love and Tears" - this show is right up there with my favorite joint projects from the same actors - "Leave It to the Wind", "Remember Love". Sure, this one's got more drama and tackles heavier topics. But just like the others, I don't buy the emotions, I don't feel the authenticity and warmth between the characters. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND it, though, because it tackles some really important themes and leaves you thinking about how fragile life is and how important it is to cherish every moment.

Although it's just seven episodes long, there are some really interesting quotes that I want to share:
xa0
- Marriage kills love.
- Marriage has nothing to do with it. People kill love themselves...
xa0
- This bed is too small.
- It's a standard double bed.
- I just don't fit.
- In your room at my parents' house, we somehow managed to squeeze into a single bed.
- How did we do that?
- We'd just hug each other...
xa0
- I want to stay in your memory. Otherwise, it's like I never existed... like we never existed together.
xa0
- Why is getting older bad? And actually, getting older is a luxury. You can only envy those who get to experience it... not everyone gets to grow old.
xa0
- You'll see - I'll get better. I'll live, just to spite you.
- To spite me, but live. I'll be happy, Mira.
xa0
- Any end is a new beginning...
xa0
- You seem to be falling in love with your wife all over again, bro.
- I've always loved her; I just didn't understand...
xa0
- He loves me so much. As long as he loves me like this, I want to keep living...
xa0
- You say you gave me money, sent me to America to get an education. Is that what it means to be a mother? I think being close to your child is what being a mother is all about.
xa0
- That's all?
- I've said my part. But your story isn't over yet...
