A Great Shampoo for Little Ones, But the Packaging Falls Short
Hello there!
I only trust a reputable brand when it comes to choosing a shampoo for my kid, and that's why I picked the Lipobez Baby Shampoo. You can find it in pharmacies, which is a big plus for me.
What I love about this shampoo:
It gently cleanses delicate baby hair and provides the necessary moisture for the scalp. It prevents tangling and makes combing a breeze.Lipobez Baby Shampoo is perfect for kids from birth (0+) and is suitable for daily use. It's also dermatologically tested, making it a great option for sensitive skin.
Product details:
Where to buy: pharmacy.Price: around 400 rubles.Volume: 150 ml.Manufacturer: Russia.Ingredients:Aqua, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Sodium Lauroyl Methyl Isethionate, Sodium Methyl Oleoyl Taurate, Lauryl Glucoside, Coco-Glucoside, Sodium Laureth-11 Carboxylate, Ceteareth-60 Myristyl Glycol, Inulin, Betaine, Macadamia Seed Oil Glycereth-8 Esters, Laurdimonium Hydroxypropyl Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein, Panthenol, Phenoxyethanol, Chlorphenesin, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizinate, Parfum, Citric Acid.
Active ingredients:
The main focus was on the licorice extract, as it's essential for reducing eczema symptoms.
Glycyrrhizinate properties:
Licorice-based medications are highly effective in treating acute and chronic dermatitis. However, its effects are weaker than those of adrenocortical hormones, so don't expect immediate results. Long-term use of glycyrrhizinate shows minimal side effects.
Betaine has osmoregulatory properties, maintaining the electrolyte balance within cells and preventing water molecules from passing through cell membranes. It reduces skin irritation, soothes, and smoothes the skin, accelerating the healing of minor scrapes and light rashes. In hair care products, betaine provides a conditioning effect, strengthens keratin hair fibers, and gives hair a smooth, elastic texture.
Inulin is a prebiotic that improves the skin's microbial environment by promoting the elimination of pathogenic and conditionally pathogenic microorganisms.
Packaging:
The shampoo comes in a box with a pharmacy-style design in calm colors, featuring images of children's toys and a 0+ label. The packaging is really informative, with a detailed description and a breakdown of the active ingredients.
The bottle of shampoo is shaped like a droplet, and the plastic is dense, having withstood multiple drops without any issues. The front of the bottle duplicates the information from the packaging.
On the back, there's a description, usage instructions, and information about the manufacturer. However, the composition is only listed on the packaging and online.
The flip-top lid has a notch for easy opening, and the lid itself isn't too tight, making it easy to open and close. It clicks shut, but over time, it started to come loose from the base and only holds on by half, yet it still closes and stays in place.
The dispenser opening is just the right size, so you don't overdo it with the shampoo.
The color is completely transparent.
The scent of the shampoo is a bit of a letdown for me. It's got a specific smell that I don't particularly enjoy. I'm guessing it's a combination of the macadamia oil and other ingredients, but I'm not entirely sure. The smell is sweet and cloying, and it's quite strong, lingering for about 12 hours and really getting under my skin.
Consistency: is medium-thick, but leaning more towards gel-like. It doesn't spread immediately; a drop forms a spiral pattern, like honey, before spreading.
Application: Apply a small amount of shampoo to wet hair, massage gently and rinse thoroughly with water.
I've got a kid with hair that's been long since birth, so we needed a shampoo ASAP. Plus, I've been teaching all my kids to wash their heads since birth, so they don't freak out when they get older. I don't use shampoo every day, but I do wash their hair daily. I use this shampoo about every 7-10 days, no need to overdo it.
This shampoo is labeled as 0+, so I got it for my kid right away.
I remember when I was a kid, my mom used shampoos with 0+ labels and 'no tears' claims, but they still stung my eyes when they got in. I didn't want to put my own kids through that, so I developed my own strategies for washing their hair without freaking them out.
How to wash a kid's hair without getting suds in their eyes?
With a newborn, you need help or a baby bath support, but at least they're in a horizontal position, so it's easier to control the water flow. Just use one hand to shield their eyes and the other to wash their hair. But with older kids who can sit or stand, it's tougher to avoid getting water in their eyes. I don't tilt my kid's head back too much, so water doesn't hit their forehead or eyes. Water's going to get in some of the time, but usually, I can get their hair wet and rinse out the suds without any issues. The key is not to scare them, or they won't lift their head.
So, mission accomplished – now it's time to lather up their hair.
This shampoo lathers up okay, but not too much. The bubbles are big and chunky, but they dissipate quickly. I pour some shampoo into my palms, lather it up, and then apply it to their hair – way easier than trying to lather it up on their head while they're screaming.
Rinsing: is a breeze with this shampoo – it comes out quickly, and you don't have to scrub for ages. The less time you spend washing their hair, the calmer they'll be. None of my kids have ever loved getting their hair washed, but they tolerate it. Sometimes, they even yell at the neighbors, and I'm pretty sure they think I'm murdering them.
Results:
This shampoo does a great job of cleaning their hair – it gets rid of all the dirt, grime, and other yucky stuff that accumulates on their hair, like city dust, sand, and who knows what else. My kids love throwing sand on each other's heads, so this shampoo's a lifesaver.
After washing, my kid's hair is clean, soft, and manageable, and their scalp feels fresh and light. It's clear that their hair is clean and healthy-looking.
As for the 'cradle cap,' this shampoo doesn't seem to have any effect either way. It didn't help, but it also didn't make things worse.
Economy of use: is one of the shampoo's strong points. A small amount is enough for one application, and since I alternate it with another shampoo due to its overpowering scent, it lasts a while.
Cleans well;Produces a rich lather;Economical to use;No harsh SLS surfactants;Available at pharmacies.Cons:
The cap can be a bit flimsy; The scent is overpowering; No effect on cradle cap.Verdict: Overall, this shampoo does a great job of cleaning hair, producing a rich lather, and rinsing out easily, but the scent is a major turn-off for me. I'd rather not kiss my kid's head when it smells so strong and overpowering. If you're not too picky, I'd recommend it, but if you're like me and prefer a more subtle scent, I'd suggest looking elsewhere.
Thanks for reading, and I'll see you later!
