I've been obsessed with weight loss for as long as I can remember. I'm one of those 'forever dieters' who's always on the lookout for the next big thing. I gain weight in an instant, so I have to be constantly on top of my game and cut calories. But then there are those periods where I slack off, and before I know it, I've gained even more weight. And then I'm back to square one, trying to lose it all over again.
It's this never-ending cycle of weight loss, and I've tried every diet and meal plan under the sun. I've even resorted to taking pills, and not too long ago, I gave the Leovit miracle box a shot.
I picked up the Leovit box at my local supermarket for around 1500 rubles. Considering it's a 5-day meal plan, I'd say that's pretty budget-friendly. You can get this for people who are struggling financially, and it won't leave you starving.
The box itself is pretty cool. I was carrying it out of the store with the handle.
There's a ton of information on the box, promising weight loss of up to 4.7 kg in just 2 weeks.
Yeah, right. I'm not sure if that's even possible, but it would probably require some serious stomach issues from eating this stuff.
There are a bunch of other promises on the box that I won't even get into.
The daily meal plan is all laid out on the box, which is where I found the packets for each day.
So, what's inside the box?
Inside, you get a set of meal packets for 5 days. I have to say that they're all nicely packaged, and nothing was damaged or spoiled during shipping. The packets themselves are easy to open by tearing along the line.
My Experience
Every morning, I start with a cup of coffee, which is supposed to burn fat.
But honestly, the only thing it does is make me feel nauseous. It's just not a pleasant taste.
And after that, I'm not even close to feeling full until lunchtime.
I'm not exactly a breakfast person, but after trying this diet, I found myself starving by lunchtime. Maybe it's just because I'm trying to wash down this nasty stuff.
Things get more serious at dinner time. You get a full meal with a first course, second course, and tea. Dinners are usually just oatmeal and jelly.
1 day
So, here's the menu for the first day of this diet.
Out of everything, the soup was the most edible. Although it's got a weird slimy texture, at least it tastes okay.
The mashed potatoes were a letdown.
I didn't even finish it because there were these weird lumps that didn't dissolve. I had tea with it and just waited for dinner.
Dinner was a pretty unappetizing oatmeal.
And jelly.
The jelly was actually the highlight of this meal. It's not like it's got any cleansing properties or anything, but it's just really tasty and has a great texture. I'd definitely buy it separately.
2 day
I had another terrible coffee in the morning and just waited for lunch.
Lunch
The soup was pretty good, with a clear mushroom flavor.
From what I've tried so far, the soups in this diet are the best part.
But the thing they called pasta was a total disaster. No matter how long I left it under the lid, the noodles just wouldn't cook – they stayed hard. And the taste is just disgusting.
I only managed to eat a couple of spoonsful before I couldn't take it anymore. The flavor is just nauseating.
I had oatmeal and jelly for dinner again. The oatmeal was okay, but I went to bed hungry and annoyed.
3 day
Breakfast with coffee is starting to feel like a routine.
Lunch
Another mushroom soup, but it wasn't as good as the one from yesterday. This one was really slimy and the mushroom chunks didn't break down in the water – they were crunchy.
I'm still getting used to the weird texture of the potato with meat - it's been a bit of a struggle. But, I have to admit, it's not the worst thing I've tasted. Maybe I'm just really hungry?
I tried to eat the supposed dinner porridge, but it was a disaster - the taste was awful and the oats were hard as rocks. On the other hand, the pudding was actually pretty good.
4th day
I woke up thinking about how much I didn't want to drink that disgusting coffee, but I managed to force it down. I've made it 3 days so far, so I'll keep going.
Lunch.
The soup was amazing - not because it was particularly tasty, but because I was so hungry I would have eaten anything.
The paella was a complete disaster - it tasted like stale noodles with undercooked meat that had come back up.
I couldn't bring myself to eat it, so I just skipped it.
For dinner, I had a pretty decent pudding and, of course, my favorite pudding.
5th day
As soon as I thought about drinking that disgusting coffee, I wanted to give up on this diet. But I didn't, I just forced it down.
Lunch.
The soup was basically just water after washing a pot - disgusting.
And, of course, the texture was super slippery.
The pasta was hard again, but I ate it because I was starving. At least it tasted a bit better than the soup.
For dinner, I had some pretty tough barley, but I managed to finish it off with some pudding.
RESULTS AND MY OPINION
I started with a weight of 51.5 kg.
For my height, that's a pretty impressive number, and from the photos, you can see that I've got a decent amount of fat on my sides and stomach.
I didn't weigh myself every day - I decided to wait until the 5th day, after the diet was over.
And, on the 5th day, the scales showed 50.3 kg.
I lost a whopping 1.2kg in just 5 days, but let's be real, that's not exactly impressive.
I was basically starving myself the whole time, so it's not like I was eating a balanced diet or anything.
Now, I can usually lose around 1-1.5kg in a single day on a detox, and 3kg in 5 days on a normal diet without feeling like I'm going to die from hunger.
But this thing was a whole different story.
For 5 days straight, I was eating this disgusting, tasteless food and I was constantly hungry.
I was so thirsty all the time, and my stomach was just churning with this weird, uncomfortable feeling.
It was honestly the worst idea for weight loss I've ever tried, and I wouldn't feed this stuff to my worst enemy.
And don't even get me started on the "food" itself.
It's just a bunch of packets of who-knows-what that tastes like cardboard.
The only decent thing about it was the taste of the soup. Cons:
The food was a disaster to prepare. Most of the dishes made me feel sick. Some of the food was just inedible. The weight loss was basically nonexistent.
