Hey, the New Year is just around the corner, and I've got a confession to make: I've been wearing this dress for a few months now, and it's gotten a bit too tight in some areas. I'm not exactly thrilled about putting in the effort to lose a few kilos, especially when they'll probably creep back on during the holidays. So, I decided to take the path of least resistance and cut down on my portion sizes. And, as luck would have it, the online community seemed to pick up on my intentions. I stumbled upon the LeoVit weight loss soup set, and I chose the one with different flavors to try them all out and share my thoughts. I started my week-long diet with the mushroom cream soup.
LeoVit Mushroom Cream Soup.
LeoVit Mushroom Cream SoupBefore I checked out the ingredients, I thought this was going to be some kind of low-calorie Roltone – empty calories, but tasty. However, according to the manufacturer, it's not all bad news. There aren't any scary additives like half of Mendeleev's periodic table.
LeoVit Mushroom Cream Soup ingredientsThe main advantage of these weight loss soups is their low calorie count per serving. I appreciate that the calorie count is listed on the packaging, not per 100g. It's way easier to keep track of your daily intake. Compared to other LeoVit soups, the mushroom cream is actually quite filling. The borsh and shchi versions have around 50 calories.
LeoVit Mushroom Cream SoupIncidentally, homemade soups aren't that calorie-dense either. I don't make a vegetable roux and skim the fat off the broth. But the difference is that I'd probably pour a big serving into a bowl, rather than a 200ml cup. So, these packaged soups not only save time but also help you control your portion sizes.
The contents of the package are pretty modest – you can see bits of mushroom and a lot of powder. The smell, on the other hand, is strong and rich. It's not overpowering, and I find it quite pleasant, even if it's a bit artificial.
LeoVit Mushroom Cream SoupThe preparation process is a breeze:

I read a bunch of reviews before buying the LeoVit soup set. Most of them were negative, and a lot of people were complaining about the appearance. But personally, the consistency didn't faze me. Maybe it's because it's a mushroom soup with cream. It looks like homemade broth, but it's not as thick. I mean, all the ingredients are dried and ground, so...
There's not a huge difference between what I expected and what I got. The shiitake mushrooms are finely chopped, not like on the packaging. And honestly, what's the point of hating the product because it's more of a puree? I mean, I don't see the point of hating it for that.
LeoVit Mushroom Cream SoupOkay, okay, that's all just being poetic. You can start enjoying it in just a couple of minutes. The aroma of the shiitake mushrooms is really enticing.
Honestly, I liked the taste. I love homemade mushroom soup with shiitake and melted cheese. This soup tastes very similar to what I make at home. In terms of the amount of salt, spices, and the richness of the mushroom and cream flavors. No bitter notes. Yeah, the LeoVit mushroom cream soup has an unusual consistency, it's thicker and almost smooth, with no chunks to chew on. If I'm being honest, it's a tasty product.
It warms you up from the inside and satisfies your taste buds (better than eating a whole day's worth of kefir, for example). And it's only 88 calories per serving.

So, the verdict. My 9 am breakfast consisted of a packet of soup, a sweet coffee with milk, and a slice of pomelo. Calorie-wise, it's a joke. Around 200 calories. I wouldn't recommend eating like that, but sometimes...
One of the good things is that your body isn't starving. Breakfast was had? Yeah, it was. All the necessary processes were started, I felt normal, and my stomach wasn't growling until 2 pm. Of course, I was busy. If I was just sitting at home in front of my computer, knowing there was plenty of food on the kitchen counter, I probably would have caved. It's not some magical product that will suppress your appetite. It's just a low-calorie snack.
So, the secret to losing weight with LeoVit products is simple: replace one meal with a packet and move more, do something to distract yourself from food. With this calorie deficit, you'll definitely speed up your weight loss. Whether someone loses weight quickly or slowly is just a matter of individual results.
I didn't have any issues. My overall feeling and gut health were normal. I wouldn't recommend giving up regular food for LeoVit products. But sometimes...
