Hey everyone!
I recently tried laser hair removal at a studio that caught my eye, and I wanted to share my honest experience with you all. I'd had some not-so-great experiences with other studios in the past, so I was a bit skeptical, but I decided to give this one a shot.
So, why haven't I found a good studio yet? Well, I've had a couple of bad experiences - either with a lazy specialist who didn't do a good job or a weak laser. I've had more than five procedures done now, spent over 10,000 rubles, but my hair just keeps growing. It's been a frustrating experience, to say the least.
Between the third and fourth procedures, I actually saw some decent results. Of course, I wasn't expecting much from the first and second procedures, but even then, I did see some improvement. However, I regret increasing the time between procedures, which I did after a few sessions. By the time I went back for another session, it had been a while since my last one.
I decided to reassess my results and realized that my underarms looked great - almost hair-free - but now they're growing like crazy again, as if I'd never done anything!
I was also surprised to see that the intimate area wasn't completely hair-free, but rather had patches of hair in some areas, while others were completely hairless. Yes, the hair might have become thinner and lighter, but it didn't disappear completely.
I had no idea about this studio, but I saw an ad on VKontakte and decided to give it a try. As you can see, they took 990 rubles for two zones, which is a pretty good deal considering the promotion. But if you come without the promotion, it would be 3300 rubles for two zones, which I think is quite pricey for a diode laser already. I thought it was a chain of studios, but it turns out it's a franchise. So, you buy it and they take care of the marketing, design, and everything else.
Maybe they've already closed down the "Nothing Extra" epilation chain in other cities, but we have one in the city center, in the business center on Kostenki 3, near Maxim Gorky Square.
The only downside of the business center is that parking is paid, there are no parking spots, and the bus stops are nowhere to be found. I had to walk for 10 minutes, and since it was snowing, I had to take the bus on a weekend, when they're not as frequent.
I had a bit of a stressful experience getting to the studio, but I made it there eventually. I pressed the button five minutes early, and then I waited for 7 minutes. So the driver said I hadn't pressed the button, although I had pressed it, maybe he didn't hear or notice. Well, at least it stopped, so I still had 20 minutes to get there on time.
The studio is located on the second floor of the business center, and the toilet is shared. I realized that because the studio is really small - there's an entrance zone with a couch where you can undress, and the zone where the procedure takes place.
It's super cozy, all very feminine and delicate. I had told you about the office in the business center, where I also organized a beauty salon a few years ago, but this studio is even cozier, it's clear they didn't skimp on the interior.
So basically, it looks like the girl works alone, it's unlikely she has anyone else, maybe a replacement who works with her.
It's clear she's doing the recording and the procedure herself.
I would've given this studio a five-star rating, but there was one thing that really bugged me. The technician was nice, friendly, and calm - she did a great job on every area. But, let's be real, the armpits are always a challenge, and this one was no exception. I've had worse, but still.
First off, they completely skipped over the bikini line area, only doing the main part and giving my lips a few quick passes. I get that it can be painful, but the machine was nice and cool, so I was willing to tolerate it. What I will say is that only two studios have ever done a decent job on this area - the first one had an alexandrite laser, but it was way out of my budget and super painful.
The second one was a private clinic, and it was after that appointment that I noticed my hair started growing back in and I barely lost any, so I stopped going there. They weren't afraid to get in there and really work the area - this technician, on the other hand, just gave it a quick pass from the top, which is exactly where the problem lies.
I'm always too embarrassed to say anything, so I just won't be going back. Secondly, I had a Brazilian, and for some reason, they did the backside really quickly - it would've been nice to have a few more passes and some extra time to get it just right.

I'm not sure about the device itself, but this area could use some serious attention. I mean, it's great to walk into a nice space, but results are what really matter to me!
If you're worried about messing up your bikini line – trim your toenails, but why go to such extremes? The bikini area performed like it was the first time I'd ever seen it.
