I'll be honest, I've always been curious about why natural products seem to do more harm than good to my skin. Those cheap, generic hand creams from the store at home are fine, but the expensive, overhyped natural ingredients just strip my skin of its natural oils.
Laboratorium's Sosnovy Les Hand and Body Cream was a total disaster for me, causing some pretty intense allergic reactions that left my skin feeling itchy, dry, and inflamed.
Price
I got it as a gift, so I don't know the exact price, but on Ozon it was around 450 rubles.

The metal tube is a bit of a letdown, but the design is pretty cool. It's like they're trying to make it look old-school, but the lid is just a cheap-looking wheel thingy. And, honestly, it's not very convenient. I've had issues with it breaking easily, and the last thing I want is to get a big glob of cream all over my hands when I'm trying to leave the house.
And don't even get me started on trying to get the cream out - it's like trying to squeeze toothpaste out of a tube in a cartoon.
A bit about my skin
I have pretty sensitive and dry skin on my hands, and I have to moisturize them constantly. If I don't, I end up with eczema. And to make matters worse, my skin reacts really badly to water. I washed some dishes without gloves, didn't moisturize... yeah, it was a mess.
Before, when my skin was okay, I never even thought about how useless most moisturizers are. They're just greasy, pungent messes that leave a residue behind.
Knowing my skin issues, people are always giving me creams to try. Not much works, but I'm not picky, so I'll use anything. Even face creams on my heels - it's a desperate measure, I know. But Laboratorium's Sosnovy Les Hand and Body Cream? I wouldn't even dare put it on my heel, let alone my hands.
Natural ingredients
Water, sweet almond oil, avocado oil, stearic acid, xylans (wheat emulsifier), camellia oil, dextran, chamomile oil, green tea oil, eucalyptus oil, food flavor, potassium sorbate, sodium benzoate.
I've noticed that I always have a terrible reaction to natural products. Maybe I'm just a walking chemical factory, and when my body feels like it's getting closer to nature, it starts to break down.
Twin Peaks or Pine Extract
This hand and body cream is packed with oils and other natural ingredients, designed to deeply moisturize your skin. The pleasant pine scent is a nod to the iconic TV series Twin Peaks and its main symbols: black coffee, donuts, pine forest, and cherry pie.
The pine scent is a favorite among many, but I'm only a fan of it during the holidays. I'm not sure how it relates to my favorite show, Twin Peaks. It smells exactly like a pine extract bath product from my childhood. One capful would turn the water in the tub green and fill the air with a pine aroma.
The Moisturizing Cream from Laboratory Pine Forest smells like I've poured an entire bottle of that green potion right onto my face. The scent isn't subtle; it hits you right in the nose. It's a real cedar slap in the face. When you sniff it from the tube, it seems like someone has added a pile of pine needles on top of the scent. It's not a clean pine aroma, but rather one with some funky undertones.
The smell is present during application and when I open the tube. However, once it's absorbed, my hands don't smell like it.
I was most impressed by its versatility. You can use it on your hands or body. I'm glad I didn't apply it to my face first. Who knows how that would have ended for me?
Consistency wasn't too runny for my taste. It's not too thick either. Just a regular, middle-of-the-road cream. It applies smoothly and evenly to the skin.
Almost 33 delightful experiences
When I first started using it, I combined it with my trusty moisturizer.
I was surprised to find myself reaching for it more often than I needed to. I'd apply it to my hands, but my skin would still feel tight and dry. Apparently, my regular moisturizers were masking the negative effects, as I was able to hold out for a while.
However, I soon noticed that my skin was getting worse. Dryness and flakiness became apparent. Of course, I applied it more frequently and used all available remedies. The relief didn't come.
I usually moisturize my skin as soon as I feel it getting tight. I applied it, went about my day, but the sensation of a film on my hands persisted. Moreover, by mid-day, it felt like it wasn't absorbing, but rather layering on top. My skin remained dry underneath. I didn't feel any sense of lightness, relief, or nourishment.
I had an overwhelming urge to wash it off and apply something else that would work better.
After a couple of hours, when I washed it off under the shower, I felt a strange sensation. It was like I had some sort of cleansing lotion on my hands. Instead of absorbing, it just lingered on the skin like gloves.
Allergies ruined everything
My skin was itchy, dry, and I was caring for it more and more until I realized that it was the cream's fault. The Laboratory Cream wasn't improving the situation; it was making it worse. I discovered this by accident, when I applied it after a shower to smell like a pine wreath. I waited for it to absorb, started reading a book, and absent-mindedly ran my finger over my face, lips, and cheeks, and forehead.
I have to admit, I was taken aback by how intense the cooling sensation was in these areas. I'm not a fan of that sharp, icy feeling – it's like someone poured liquid nitrogen on my skin! The sensation was so strong that I almost forgot about it, until the cooling turned into a burning heat. When I looked in the mirror, my skin was bright red, puffy, and itchy – it looked like a tomato had exploded on my face.
The effect was so intense that it reminded me of when I first started using acid peeling – it was like my skin was being cooked alive!
My hand also broke out in hives and while I was scratching it, the skin started to flake off. Now I'm paying the price for that brutal moisturizing session – my skin is still recovering and recovering.
I had to scrub the product off my hands for what felt like an eternity. It was like trying to remove a layer of liquid latex that had stuck to my skin – it just wouldn't budge.
Labo Sosnovy Les ReviewsDespite giving it another chance and trying to revive it on my heel, the heel just swelled up. My body had already encountered the allergen and wasn't having it.
