My Letuall Experience: A Mixed Bag of Surprises
Hello everyone!
I'm not an avid shopper at L'Occitane, but summer changed my mind. I fell in love with fragrances, and I'm sticking to budget-friendly options for now.
I like L'Occitane for its diverse product range and prices. There are both affordable and high-end options available. It's a universal store, really.
You can shop their products in two ways: in-store or through their app.
The in-store option is more convenient for me. You can browse their entire product range in person, get a feel for the products, and even test them out.
The app option is better for those who enjoy browsing online, discovering new products, or looking for deals.
I rarely make online purchases. Most of my orders are for Dolce Milk products, specifically their micellar water and wet wipes. I just can't get enough of them!
L'Occitane offers a wide range of products for both men and women, as well as some items for kids.
When it comes to gift-giving, I often head to L'Occitane. You can either purchase a gift certificate or fill a shopping basket with useful items.
What I don't like is when prices are missing or shelves are half-empty, with testers lying around but no actual products available.
Without their loyalty card, shopping in-store is pretty pointless. Some products are quite pricey without it, and you can often find the same items at a lower price on marketplaces.
L'Occitane has a wide selection of decorative cosmetics. Some products come with testers, which is super convenient – you can find the perfect shade of cream or lipstick.
I love that each brand has its own shelf. It makes it so much easier to find what I'm looking for.
I've had that problem before - getting a bunch of bonuses and not knowing what to spend them on. I end up wandering around the store, trying to find something that's on sale, but it's hard to keep track of what's actually discounted. They should really have some way to mark down the prices or have an electronic scanner to check the codes.
I've spent hours in Letuall just trying to find something worth buying - especially if it's something expensive like perfume.
I saw a woman at the checkout with a huge basket of stuff, and they were trying to scan it all in, but one of the items wasn't on sale. She had to go back into the store and find something else, and it took her like 5 minutes. In the meantime, the line behind her just kept growing and growing - it was chaos.
I have to say, the security wasn't too bad - I took pictures of the shelves and browsed for a while without anyone bothering me. I've been to three stores and it's been fine every time.
The app is definitely the easiest way to check the inventory - you can search for what you're looking for and see if it's in stock. I also like to use the testers to check the scent and make sure it's still good.
I've been eyeing the Soft Side perfume line for ages, but it's hard to get a sense of the different scents just from the description. I've been to Letuall a few times to try them out, but it's not always easy to find all of the different fragrances - and sometimes they don't have testers for them all.
I found all 5 of them in one store, but it was already the last one and I was familiar with the whole process.
The complexity of the purchase arose because the fragrance smelled different on the packaging than it did on the skin.
Take the yellow box, for example. The scent is lemon-yogurt-like and delicate. On the packaging, it seemed harsh and overpowering. Luckily, I sprayed some on my wrist and returned the next day to buy two more boxes.
I ordered through the app. I was worried that I'd get there and they'd be out of stock.
In the app, the current price with bonuses is displayed in pink. At first, I wanted to buy the beige and yellow Soft Side, but in the end, I bought two yellow ones. One for myself, one for my mom.
In the app, you can see the total amount of bonuses and track their remaining balance.
After a few days, I had accumulated:
An endless supply of wet wipes.Body wash gel, hair mask. Getting familiar with a new brand, I guess. Two eyeshadow palettes, one for contouring, a brush.Perfumes are a whole different story. In the end, I bought 3 yellow boxes, 2 of which were gifts; 2 white ones, 1 of which was a gift, and 1 beige one.
The gifts were given away on the day of purchase, so I didn't take photos.
I also bought Dolce Milk body wash gels, but they were all given away as gifts. By the way, this is a great product for gifts. The gels are fragrant and thick!
My Thoughts on Letuall
I really like Letuall, especially the assortment and sales, but I think they need to work on customer service. Why is there no one to consult with during sales periods in the store? The cashiers are usually alone, and it's a hassle to find a price for some items. I wish they'd think through the sales theme. The items on sale should be clearly marked.
Price tags are missing for some items. You have to rush to the cashier, and there are long lines. Sometimes I just want to run away.
I've gotta say, the testers aren't always available for every product. I usually scan the code in the app and check the website, but this time it was a bit of a challenge. The boxes were all packed, and I needed the testers. It took me about an hour to choose some decent ones, and once I got home, I checked out some reviews with swatches and made my purchase. Honestly, it's way easier to just use marketplaces.
During the sale, I spent around 10,000 rubles. I restocked my makeup bag with some new products and a nice toiletry water.
I have mixed feelings about the store, so I'm giving it three stars.
