I've always had a soft spot for L'Atelier Parfum. I picked up my first scent, Salty Wood, back in January 2024, and then this beauty, Rose, in May 2024 along with another one. I'll get to all of them eventually. But for now, let's talk about Rose coup de foudre. That's 'Love at First Sight' in French, or more literally, 'Lightning Strike.' I'm no linguist, so I'll leave the fancy translations to the experts.
Now, onto the perfume. L'Atelier Parfum offers three bottle sizes: 15ml, 50ml, and 100ml. That's super convenient. If you love the scent, you can go big with the larger size, and if you're just testing the waters or have a big collection, the 15ml is perfect for me.
And let's be real, the 15ml bottles are pretty cute too.

The packaging is gorgeous, with watercolor-style splatters.
L'Atelier Parfum has collections called Opus. This scent is part of their first Opus collection.
The back of the packaging has a lovely description of the fragrance. The translation goes like this: 'Elegant and refined. A little bit, yet somehow a lot, with an insane passion. A sudden and powerful meeting between Turkish rose and pachouli wood.'
The bottle itself is small and rectangular. It's got a paper label with a textured finish, and on the back, if you flip it over, you'll see the same watercolor smudges as the cardboard packaging.
It looks amazing!
The spritzer is black too. It's got so many details, even for a miniature.
On the side of the bottle, it's got the name of the fragrance and the edition number.
The color of the liquid is a very pale pink, almost imperceptible. But maybe it's just because of the inner sticker.
Sillage:
I have a dry, cool, almost neutral skin type, so the sillage and development of the fragrance may be different for you!
I bought this blind, without testing it, because of the good discount.
When I spray it, it smells incredibly fresh and fruity. I'm not a big fan of blackcurrant as a fruit or a fragrance, but in this perfume, it's amazing. No sweetness or bitterness! I don't smell any citrus, but the green notes and the blackcurrant bush with large, ripe berries that are about to burst - I can smell all of that. And the drops after the rain. I mean, it's like the leaves of the blackcurrant bush and the berries themselves.
This scent is loud, but in a good way. It doesn't hit you over the head.
It's like walking through a garden on a cool morning, surrounded by rose and blackcurrant bushes. The rose is the first thing that comes to mind, but it's a young, fresh rose, like it's resting in the leaves with dew. It's not a deep red, but more of a soft, pastel pink.
I'm not a huge fan of rose in perfumery, and I'm not a fan of blackcurrant either, but somehow it all works in this scent.
The woody notes give it a nice dryness and a slight bitterness, while the musk is soft and powdery.
Actually, the scent isn't light at all. The base notes give it a pretty loud, distinctive sound over time. It's not just a fruity-floral scent, but those woody notes and musk make it play on the skin in an unusual way, with a dryness and a slight metallic quality.
And yes, it's an affordable niche, which is a major plus.
There's a coolness to it, like when the heat of summer gives way to overcast days with a breeze, but it's still warm.
For what time of year? I wouldn't wear it in the heat of summer, as the woody notes can make it feel heavy. But it's perfect for any other time of year. I often wear it in late spring, early summer, and early autumn, when the air is still warm but the wind is cool.
Projection: it's got a medium projection, and I can smell it strongly all day.
Longevity: I was surprised by how long it lasts – over 8-9 hours on the skin! And I don't get used to it, I can still smell it when I move. It's really impressive! It lasts for a day on fabrics and hair too.
For whom? While it's marketed as unisex, I think it leans more towards the feminine side.
Where to wear it? You can wear it anywhere. It's not too overpowering or suffocating. It's not super light, but it's noticeable. The rose direction is definitely recognizable.
If you're not a huge fan of rose, give it a try. It's not your typical rose scent, and the price, build quality, and longevity all balance out nicely.
And if you're a fan of rose and woody notes, you'll love this one.
