Hello everyone!
I'm a total sucker for bright lip colors - they always give me a confidence boost and add a dash of fun to my makeup routine. Today, I want to share with you my favorite - Kokie Professional Lip Poudre in the shade 805 Charming Hue. This one's a gift from the lovely Svetamystery - just like the Burts Bees Balm I reviewed earlier.
Unfortunately, I couldn't find any online stores that deliver Kokie products to Russia. The brand isn't represented in our country either. In the US, you can find this lip color at Walmart and on the official website.
• Price: $7.
• Volume: 4 ml.
• Country of origin: China.
• Brand country: USA.
• Cruelty-free: yes.
• Shelf life: 12 months after opening.
The Kokie brand is relatively young, but it's already made a name for itself. Even in North America, where the competition is fierce, a brand has to be doing something right to stand out.
Browsing through their official website, I noticed that Kokie's decorative cosmetics are pretty interesting: they offer a wide range of textures and shades, a big selection, and super affordable prices.
The Lip Poudre line has a relatively small shade range - just 12 options. But for a mass market brand, that's more than enough, especially since all the lip colors in the line are beautiful and unique.

The packaging is a solid, opaque case that matches the product's color, with a black and white striped lid featuring the brand's logo.
The packaging includes a layer of wax to protect against accidental opening.
The applicator is quite large, but the actual lip brush isn't too wide. It feels soft and plush to the touch, with a moderate amount of texture. The product applies beautifully, and I've found it to be very easy to use - it picks up lipstick well, creates a nice lip contour, and doesn't get all over the place.
The shade 805 Charming Hue is a vibrant neon fuchsia that's absolutely stunning. It's got a bit of an edgy, acidic vibe, but at the same time, it's nostalgically feminine.
I tried to take a macro shot of my lips with my camera, but it didn't quite capture the color accurately. My smartphone camera does a much better job - the lipstick looks exactly the same in real life as it does on camera. Unfortunately, the photos I took with my camera make it look slightly warmer.
805 Charming Hue is perfect for spring and summer walks - it blends seamlessly into my everyday look.
When I compare it to my other fuchsia-toned lipsticks, 805 Charming Hue stands out as the boldest and coolest.
For a comparison, I've included some other fuchsia-toned lipsticks I've tried:
1 - Kokie Lip Poudre #05 Charming Hue;
2 - Estee Lauder Pure Color Love Grape Addiction;
3 - MAYBELLINE Color Sensational The Loaded Bolds #882 Fiery Fuchsia;
4 - NOUBA Millebaci #40.
The key features of this lipstick are pretty impressive.
The pigmentation is amazing - even a thin layer covers up my natural lip color. Plus, you can build it up as much as you want without getting that 'watercolor' effect.
The texture is creamy, lightweight, and not at all greasy or sticky. And the best part? It doesn't bleed.
One thing I noticed is that there's no scent to speak of, but the lipstick itself has a slightly unpleasant 'plastic' smell. Thankfully, it fades quickly and doesn't linger on your lips.
Application is a breeze – the lipstick glides on smoothly, without any patchiness, feathering, or clumping. It stays put around the edges and doesn't bleed into fine lines or wrinkles. You don't need a lip liner. The only quirk is that for a minute or two after applying, try not to pucker your lips, or the lipstick might smudge on your gums.
Setting is quite long-lasting. For about 30 minutes, the lipstick sets, but even after that, the pigment can still linger on cups, during kisses, and so on.
The finish is matte, but not flat. In the first 10 minutes, the lipstick has a delicate, satin sheen that's really pretty. Then, the finish gradually dries down to a more matte finish.
Prep work isn't necessary – I mean, no need to exfoliate or anything. Just apply Lip Poudre straight away, and you're good to go. If you do want to moisturize beforehand, go for it, but it's not required.
Performance on the lips is top-notch. You can see that the lipstick doesn't accentuate dry patches, doesn't dry out your lips, or look like cakey makeup.
Longevity is also top-notch. Kokie Lip Poudre withstands a light snack, coffee, and doesn't fade at all around the edges (though I'll remind you that lipstick stains can still linger on skin or surfaces). After 4-5 hours without a full meal, it starts to get a bit patchy on the mucous membrane – but you can easily fix it by reapplying, and it layers up nicely. I also want to mention that it comes off cleanly, without cracking, crumbling, or leaving bits behind.
The tint on the lips stays put, and it's pretty intense. I love the effect: it's like real powder, so the name Kokie Lip Poudre definitely lives up to its promise.
For a change of pace, you can layer a lip oil or clear gloss over the tint – it's bright, cheerful, and perfect for a special occasion. Or try adding a holographic topper for a fun twist!
For removal, any two-phase liquid will do – micellar waters just don't work as well, since the lipstick is so long-lasting.
The pros of the liquid lipstick Kokie are:
Convenient applicator.Light texture.Easy to apply.Stays in place, doesn't bleed or spread.High pigmentation.Layers well.Beautiful finish.No 'watercolor' effect.Won't dry out your lips.Almost doesn't accentuate dry patches.Excellent longevity.Leaves a nice powder tint.The con is:
The scent could be more pleasant.In conclusion, I'm absolutely loving this lipstick, and it's become my go-to for spring. Thanks again to Svetlana for this amazing gift.
Rating - 5/5. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone looking to try it out. If you've got a trip to the States planned, be sure to check these lipsticks out.
