Hello everyone, and thanks for reading my review!
I'm about to share my honest experience with the kefir diet, but before I dive in, let me make one thing clear: I'm not promoting radical weight loss methods. I'm a firm believer in adopting sustainable eating habits that nourish both body and mind.
If you have any health conditions, are extremely active, pregnant, breastfeeding, or under 18, I wouldn't recommend strict diets. Please get a general blood test and biochemistry check before and after, as I did, to ensure you're making an informed decision about your health.
I'm not a doctor, so take my advice for what it's worth! I'm simply sharing my personal experience with the kefir diet, and I hope it might be helpful to others who are considering trying it.
My Story.
I've struggled with weight loss for years due to a slow metabolism. If I eat twice a day, I gain weight easily, while a normal diet leads to weight gain. I've tried various diets, but none have worked for me.
My eating habits have been a rollercoaster over the years. I was diagnosed with anorexia at 14 and later developed compulsive overeating. I'd eat huge amounts without realizing it. This went on for over 5 years, and I've managed to control it, but not always.
Recently, my compulsive overeating kicked back in, and I gained weight over the holidays. On a healthy diet, I only lose weight if I eat around 500-700 calories a day, since my metabolism is super slow. I don't want to lose weight that slowly, so the quick kefir diet is my choice.
I'm also hoping that my skin will clear up after the diet, since I eat a lot of sugar, which causes breakouts. I've tried various skin care products and treatments, but I'm hoping that the kefir diet will help me achieve clearer skin from the inside out.
Day One.
I started the diet by drinking a cup of coffee with milk in the morning and a glass of kefir with a lemon slice in the evening. By around 10 pm, I started feeling irritable and chilly, so I went to bed early. I was worried that I might not be able to stick to the diet, but I was determined to give it a try.
Day Two.
On the second day, I woke up feeling beat, and it took me 15 minutes to get out of bed. I had a cup of instant coffee with milk (70/30 ratio), and after that, I felt great. I had lots of energy and got a lot done – cleaning, studying, and no fatigue. I also had a strong appetite. For breakfast, I had two glasses of kefir with a lemon slice, and for lunch and dinner, I had one glass each, around 7 pm. During my evening walk, I started feeling winded, and it was harder to fall asleep than usual.
Day Three.
I didn't feel much like eating on the third day, to be honest. In the morning, I still felt weak, but after my coffee, I was fine. I spent the day walking – 15 km – and didn't feel winded at all. I had a glass of kefir in the morning, four glasses during the day, and one in the evening. It's essential to stay active and not overeat, as I learned throughout the day.
Day Four.
On the fourth day, I drank around a liter of kefir. I had a glass of kefir with a lemon slice and a sprinkle of cinnamon for dinner – kefir's getting a bit old. I woke up feeling pretty good, without an alarm clock at 10:30. Usually, I struggle to get up by 11. I had lots of energy and got a lot done today, even managing to walk to half the places I needed to go on foot. I covered 12.9 km on foot, which is pretty good.
Day Five.
I woke up feeling weak on the fifth day, but after a cup of coffee, I was back to normal. However, I did notice some pain in my left lower back. Today, I went for a 16km walk and drank 1.5 liters of kefir.
I decided not to step on the scales today. I've had enough of the kefir diet, and I'm switching to a healthier eating plan to lose the remaining 15kg. My blood test results were clean, and my blood pressure and pulse were within normal limits.
Summary:
After 5 days, I lost 4.7kg. I found it hard to stick to the diet, but my gut cleared out quickly – my stomach felt a lot smaller even on the first day. The weight came off fast, but I'm switching to a healthier eating plan to maintain my weight loss. I'm excited to see how my body responds to a balanced diet and regular exercise.
I'm glad I tried the kefir diet, but I wouldn't recommend it for everyone. It's essential to listen to your body and make informed decisions about your health. If you're considering trying the kefir diet, please do your research and consult with a healthcare professional before starting.
