My Worst Experience with KASKO: A Cautionary Tale

summarizeEditor's Summary

I'm still fuming about my experience with KASKO. I thought I'd found a great insurance deal, but things quickly took a turn for the worse. The initial setup was a bit of a hassle, but I was willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. However, when I encountered issues with their payment system and customer support, I realized I'd made a huge mistake. Despite my best efforts to resolve the problem, I was left feeling frustrated and disappointed. If you're considering KASKO, I'd advise you to think twice – their lack of accountability and poor customer service are major red flags. In this review, I'll share my worst experience with KASKO and why I won't trust them again.

I'll start with the basics, but they're worth mentioning. In November 2025, my insurance with T-strakhovanie was up for renewal, and I was shocked to see their prices had more than doubled. I figured it was time to shop around and see what else was out there. That's when I stumbled upon KASKO from Renaissance. The lower price, monthly or quarterly payments, lower franchise fee, and a couple of interesting options like roadside assistance caught my eye. After reading some reviews, I decided to give it a shot. The initial setup wasn't exactly a walk in the park, but it was doable, and the payment went through without a hitch. Things were looking good until it was time for the next payment. My subscription was set to expire on December 20, 2025. On December 16, I got an SMS saying: 'December 19, 2025, we'll deduct … for KASKO. Check your card balance.' On the 19th, the payment went through, but on the 20th, I got another SMS saying: 'Your KASKO subscription has expired. Buy a new policy…' I was confused, so I reached out to their customer support via chat, explaining the situation and attaching a screenshot of the payment receipt. Simple, right? Two hours went by with no response. I called them, and the conversation was a mix of vague answers and recommendations to sign up for a new subscription. I asked if I could just renew the old one, and they said the payment had gone through and they had a screenshot in the chat. They told me a request had been submitted, and it would take 2-3 working days to resolve. Five days went by, and I was stuck in limbo. I waited until Tuesday, but there was no response. I called again, asked for the screenshot again, and still, nothing. That evening, I got a weird email from Renaissance that I thought was a status update. The next morning, I checked the email, and there was a small print asking for a receipt for the payment. I pointed out that the screenshot was already in the chat, and I sent it again. On December 26, 2025, I got a response saying my subscription couldn't be renewed, and I should sign up for a new one – with the cryptic message 'The subscription was automatically renewed due to technical reasons.' It wasn't until Wednesday that I realized the implications of this whole ordeal. If a company can't even manage payments, what would happen in case of an insurance claim? It's a big red flag, and I'd advise against using Renaissance's KASKO service.

live_helpFeatured FAQ

What happened with your payment system, and how did it affect your experience with KASKO?

I was set to renew my policy on December 20, 2025, but their system deducted the payment on December 19, and then told me my subscription had expired on the 20th. It was a real headache trying to get them to understand what was going on.

How did you try to resolve the issue with their customer support?

I reached out to them via chat, explaining the situation and attaching a screenshot of the payment receipt. Unfortunately, their response was more focused on selling me a new policy than actually helping me resolve the issue.

What do you think is the biggest problem with KASKO's customer service?

I think they're more interested in making a sale than actually helping their customers. It's like they're not even listening to your concerns.

Can you tell me more about the 'franchise fee' and how it works?

Honestly, I'm not entirely sure. They mentioned it in passing, but it's not something they really explained in detail.

Have you heard anything about KASKO's claims process?

No, I haven't. To be honest, I'm not even sure if I'd want to file a claim with them after my experience.

Do you think KASKO is a good option for people who are looking for affordable insurance?

I'd caution people to think twice before choosing KASKO. While their prices may seem attractive at first, the issues I encountered with their payment system and customer support make me question their reliability.

Can you recommend any alternative insurance providers?

To be honest, I'm still looking for a good alternative. I'd love to hear from others who have had positive experiences with insurance companies.

What do you think KASKO could do to improve their customer service?

I think they need to focus on listening to their customers and actually helping them resolve their issues. It's not that hard to get it right.

Have you tried contacting KASKO's corporate office or higher-level customer support?

No, I haven't. I'm not sure if that would even make a difference, to be honest.

Can you tell me more about the 'no-claims bonus' and how it works?

Honestly, I'm not even sure if it's a real thing. They mentioned it on their website, but it's not something they explained in detail.

How did KASKO's customer support team respond to your concerns?

Unfortunately, they didn't respond very well. They seemed more interested in selling me a new policy than actually helping me resolve my issue.

What would you say to someone who is considering KASKO for their insurance needs?

I'd say be very careful. While their prices may seem attractive at first, the issues I encountered with their payment system and customer support make me question their reliability.

Have you heard anything about KASKO's reputation in the industry?

No, I haven't. To be honest, I'm not even sure if I'd want to recommend them to anyone after my experience.

Can you tell me more about the benefits of choosing KASKO for your insurance needs?

Honestly, I'm not sure. They seemed to focus more on selling me a new policy than actually explaining the benefits of their services.

How did you find the overall value for money with KASKO?
