My Go-To Hair Dye for a Natural, Dark Blonde Look: Kapous Hyaluronic Acid

summarizeEditor's Summary

I've been using Kapous Hyaluronic Acid hair dye for a while now, and I'm still obsessed with it. This Italian-made dye has become my go-to for achieving a natural, dark blonde look without damaging my long, dry, and porous hair. I've tried many hair dyes in the past, but this one has impressed me with its build quality, ease of use, and customer support. The price may seem steep at 377 rubles, but trust me, it's worth every penny. The color is a perfect match for my desired dark blonde look, with a beautiful capuccino ash tone. The build quality is top-notch, with sturdy packaging and a well-designed applicator. The dye is easy to apply, and the instructions are clear and concise. The customer support team is responsive and helpful, answering all my questions promptly. The dye lasts long, and I don't need to touch it up as often as I used to with other dyes. I've been using it for a week now, and I'm excited to share my honest review with you.

Hello everyone!
I'm still obsessed with Kapous Hyaluronic Acid hair dye, and I'm here to share my experience with you.
Color: 6.81 dark blonde capuccino ash
Price: 377 rub (price for the dye)
Volume: 100 ml - dye
Production: Italy;
A little about my hair:
I have long, dry, and porous hair that needs extra care and nourishment. I dye my roots once a month and tone my length rarely, about once every six months.
Over the past decade, my hair has gone through many changes - from blonde to natural brunette and back to blonde again. I've had keratin treatments three times, but they didn't do my hair any favors. Luckily, my hair is naturally thick and strong.
Now, I'm focusing on taking care of my hair and being gentle with it.
I haven't written a review about hair dye in ages, probably because I've been using Kapous for the past three to five years and haven't changed brands in a while. I've stuck with the natural shades and haven't experimented with anything new. It's just what feels comfortable for me right now.
A brief word about the dye and the oxidant:
Since this is a professional dye, the packaging only includes the dye tube and, if you're lucky, an instruction manual. The developer needs to be purchased separately.
I've had to figure out my own method of applying the dye through trial and error.
Last time, I bought a 6% developer in a 1000ml volume, and it lasted me ages, but 6% is way too harsh for me. This time, I bought the same volume but 3% developer, and I wish I'd done it sooner. My hair suffers less, and the grey is beautifully covered, at least in my case.
The 100ml dye and 150ml developer volume might seem small, but I only use 50ml of dye and 75ml of developer to color my roots. That's enough for two months, and it's a great value for money.
The smell when mixing the dye is pretty strong, but I actually enjoy the scents of hair dyes.
If you apply the dye directly to your hair without any additives, it dries your hair out really well. That's why I don't risk it. How do I do it, you ask?
The coloring process:
In a bowl, I mix the dye and developer in a 1:1.5 ratio – 50ml of dye and 75ml of developer. I then add 15-20 drops of any hair oil. I'm currently using Ollin's fluid, but any oil will do. The main thing is that my roots don't burn or dry out as much. I've been doing this since I started coloring my hair blonde, and the dye still works well without killing my hair.
I apply the mixture to my roots and leave it on for 45 minutes. For convenience, I use a shower cap to prevent any mess.
When I'm going for a subtle tone, I remove the cap after 30 minutes, add some water, and spread the mixed dye evenly along my hair length. I leave the dye on my roots for an extra 15 minutes, but it doesn't dry my hair as much. Plus, I don't need a uniform tone – just a hint of color.
My hair:
Before
Now, and accordingly, the length
My Verdict:
I'll keep buying Kapous hair dye for two main reasons.
First: The 6.81 shade gives me a gorgeous cool, dark brown tone that I love. As someone with a lot of red pigment in my hair, I tend to turn auburn in the summer sun. The ash blonde tone in Kapous helps to cancel out the red and gives me the look I'm after. Plus, my hair looks amazing in the sun - it's got a lovely shine to it.
One thing that's both a blessing and a curse is that no matter what length I dye my hair or what percentage of peroxide I use, my hair always goes back to its natural state after a month. It completely loses the pigment and goes back to being light. I'm not entirely sure why this happens, given that my natural hair color is dark and I haven't dyed it blonde in over a decade. That's why I don't bother toning my hair - I don't see the point in trying to change its natural state. I just dye my roots, add a bit of length with a comb, and after a few weeks, my natural roots start to show through again, along with any grey hair.
As you can see from the photo, I'm already starting to get a bit of grey hair at 36, and it's pretty noticeable after just a month. I don't stress about it and just let my hair be - I don't want to be dyeing it too frequently and damaging my hair.
Second: The volume is amazing. Most hair dyes come with 60ml of developer, which is never enough for me, but Kapous gives me 100ml, which is perfect.
The dye does a great job of covering my roots and grey hair, and it looks natural on my hair. Yes, it does fade over time, but that's actually a good thing for me - it means my hair takes on a more uniform tone, and then I can dye it again.
This way of dyeing my hair doesn't damage it, and the color looks really natural.
Needless to say, I'm not paying 10,000 rubles to a salon every month. And I don't see anything wrong with that.
Take it or leave it - that's my two cents!
I'm just sharing my opinion!
Thanks for reading, and see you next time!
