Palmolive Luxurious Softness Black Orchid and Moisturizing Milk Body Wash

I'm all about self-care, and Palmolive's Luxurious Softness body wash delivers. This rich, creamy formula is infused with the sweet scent of black orchid and moisturizing milk, making it a total pampering experience at home. It gently cleanses and hydrates my skin, leaving it feeling ridiculously soft and smooth. The combination of black orchid and moisturizing milk creates a spa-like experience that's hard to beat. Whether you're looking to relax after a long day or simply want to indulge in some me-time, this body wash is a great choice. I love how it leaves my skin feeling - it's like a mini-vacation from the daily grind. Plus, the packaging is sleek and modern, making it a great addition to any bathroom.

I Was Really Let Down by the Palmolive Shower Gel with Black Orchid and Moisturizing Milk - A Bright, Overpowering Scent and Some Disappointments

summarizeEditor's Summary

I was really let down by the Palmolive Shower Gel with Black Orchid and Moisturizing Milk. The bright, overpowering scent was a major turn-off for me, and I was expecting a lot more from this product. The moisturizing milk aspect was a nice touch, but it wasn't enough to save the gel from its overall disappointing experience. I've used Palmolive products before, and I've got a neutral-to-positive view of the brand - they're not my go-to, but I do appreciate their affordable prices and wide availability. However, this particular product fell short of my expectations. The packaging was nice, but that's about where the positives ended. I'm not sure who this product is for, but it's definitely not for me.

Palmolive Luxurious Softness Shower Gel with Black Orchid and Moisturizing Milk Review
Hello there! I've been using shower gels for a while now, and I've got a pretty good sense of what I like and don't like. Palmolive is a brand I've encountered before, but I don't usually go out of my way to try their products. However, I did get a bottle of their Luxurious Softness Shower Gel with Black Orchid and Moisturizing Milk, and I thought I'd give it a shot.
So, let's take a closer look at this shower gel. I bought it at Magnit Cosmetics on a discount day, and I was excited to try it out. The price was around 350 rubles, which is a decent price for a shower gel. However, prices have gone up lately, so it's now around 400 rubles and more. Is it worth it? I'm not so sure, but it's definitely worth trying.
The product is widely available, and they're still running ads with it. You can buy it just to hear that Palmolive jingle. You can get it anywhere - supermarkets, cosmetics and household goods stores, it's everywhere. The volume is 750 ml, which is almost a liter. That's perfect for those who like to linger under the shower and think about life.
The packaging is standard for their brand - it's not a bottle or a jar, it's more like a bucket. And that's exactly what I needed - to forget about buying something for at least two months. There are also smaller formats available - 250 and 400 ml. But they're also really convenient, the bottom is stable, and the dispensers work great. If you're taking it with you, you can pour it into a smaller container (that's what I do when I take it to the pool in bottles I've emptied).
The dispenser opens with a twist in the opposite direction of the clock, and I'm pretty sure you can twist it back, but I didn't need to. The dispenser is easy to press, it rarely gets stuck, and it doesn't cause any inconvenience during use. It looks really robust - you can't break it. It dispenses a decent amount - about a teaspoon, which is a shame. If you really want to, you can unscrew the whole top (to pour it out, for example).
The design is ridiculously straightforward, like something you'd find in a mass-market product, and I'm not even going to comment on the style. But there's something about this body wash that's reassuringly stable – it's not like it's going to change anytime soon. It's light, fresh, and clean, and you hardly notice it's there.
The manufacturer's claims are that it's luxurious and soft, with black orchid and moisturizing milk. I'm not exactly fussy about body washes, but I do want something that leaves me feeling clean and refreshed. This product doesn't blow me away, but it gets the job done without any allergic reactions or issues with sudsing. I just wish it had a more pleasant scent – it's a bit of a letdown after the first use.
The ingredients are a mix of natural and synthetic stuff. The main event is sodium lauryl sulfate, which gives it a moderate level of cleansing power. Then there are all sorts of additives, like orchid extract, lemon essential oil, and aloe vera, which are supposed to soothe and moisturize. Unfortunately, it's not a particularly natural product, with a bunch of synthetic stuff like preservatives, dyes, and fragrances. I'm glad to see they're not using parabens or silicones, though. A dermatologist's seal of approval is a nice touch, but I'm still a bit wary of potential allergic reactions.
The consistency is surprisingly fluid and smooth, like milk. It's easy to apply and doesn't require any special handling – just squeeze it out and you're good to go. The color is a light, pastel lavender.
Sudsing is decent, but not exactly impressive – it's not super-foamy, but it gets the job done. The suds are soft and dissipate quickly, which is nice.
Scent usage surprised me - it's like almost a liter of the product, and after 1.5 months of daily use, it's finished more than half of the packaging. Of course, the whole family uses it, but sometimes we get by with small bottles for three months or more. It's quite fast, and I need three doses for one shower. That's how much foam and cleaning I need. Half-year usage of this cistern turned out to be unrealistic.
The aroma initially shocked me: it was something incredibly familiar and pleasant. Then I remembered - I had an air freshener for a room with a black orchid scent (similar to Tom Ford), very vaguely, but there's some similar note. At first, I really liked it - bright, rich, concentrated, such an eastern-sweet, honey-like, viscous, slightly powdery. I have no idea how orchids smell, as they don't have a pleasant scent. It's a very general floral scent, thick and clearly noticeable.
Then it started to annoy me a bit, too attention-grabbing, not exactly unobtrusive. From enthusiasm to rejection, and then to indifference. Now it's just neutral, and I've gotten used to it, so I don't pay attention. But the scent is strong, and if you don't like it, it'll be hard to use - it stays on the skin for a while and lingers in the bathroom for 30 minutes.
In use, it's pleasant and comfortable. It foams quickly, and the foam is so silky and gentle, easy to distribute over the skin and scrub with a loofah. At this moment, the whole bathroom is filled with sweet, floral scents. It rinses off quickly, but I'm not a fan that it leaves a sort of film on the skin. I don't know, it doesn't feel like complete cleanliness and freedom, like the skin isn't breathing.
And it doesn't scratch it either! And that's important for me. Although it seems to clean well - it gets rid of dirt and smells perfectly. It's also great for shaving legs and other areas, without needing to get extra foam for shaving. The gel is average, does its job, but not WOW, they hyped it up too much. It cleans, but not deeply, very superficially, and the film bothers me.
But the gel doesn't dry out the skin, that's a fact. After some use, there's an irresistible urge to pour a liter of moisturizing cream all over yourself. Here, there's no such thing, the skin remains soft and gentle to the touch. There's no excessive roughness or dryness with a feeling of tightness. The gel's after-effect is something that delights and frustrates me every time, depending on my mood, so you're lucky if you like the scent). The gel didn't cause any allergic reactions or skin irritation, and I'm very glad about that.
I'm not blown away by the orchid gel, to be honest – it's the kind of product I bought, used, and then forgot about. I'm not sure if I'd buy it again, to be frank, because the quality and effectiveness left me with some doubts. Maybe it just didn't work for my skin type, which can be a bit dry in some areas and oily in others. But hey, it does get the job done – it cleans without drying me out, and it smells amazing. For me, it's a pretty neutral product, but I'd still recommend it to anyone who needs a reliable body wash.

Alpen Gold's Salty Caramel Chocolate Falls Flat

I'm a huge fan of salty caramel, but Alpen Gold's take on it falls short. The packaging is pretty, but the chocolate itself is overpriced and underwhelming.
