My Go-To Diaper: Why I'm Hooked on Huggies Ultra Comfort
I'll be the first to admit, I wasn't exactly stoked about trying these diapers at first. But after giving them a shot for a while, I've become a total convert - I've even bought not one, not two, but three packs!
The packaging is pretty eye-catching, with a happy baby, Mickey Mouse, and fluffy clouds that promise a soft and gentle experience. I appreciate the little handle on the package, which makes it super easy to open along the designated line. The diapers inside are packed super tightly.
The packaging clearly says these are for boys, but I'm guessing that's just because of the design and the Mickey Mouse theme on the diapers. I'm pretty sure they're not actually different in terms of boy or girl.I ordered these from WildBerrys, and the next size up came in a completely different package. It's super simple, with all the info in blue text on a white background.
The packaging may be a bit basic, but that's okay by me - I'd rather save a buck on fancy wrapping. The diapers themselves are identical in every way except for size, which is the main thing. The material and manufacturer are the same too. If the manufacturer can cut costs on packaging and pass the savings on to customers, I'm all for it.At first, I was turned off by the material - it felt rough and didn't give off a 'breathable' vibe. Compared to Pampers or Huggies Elite Soft, it's not as gentle, more dense, and even a bit scratchy (the outer layer). There's no mesh layer inside. From the outside, it looks like the diapers would trap air and cause skin irritation in my baby. But, to my surprise, that didn't happen. No irritation or rashes appeared, and if I changed the diaper on time, my baby's skin stayed dry. Over time, I got used to them, and they no longer seemed like a bad option. The main thing is that they work like a charm. So, Huggies Ultra Comfort got redeemed in my eyes. What's more, they have some great advantages. They absorb really well and don't clump up. The moisture is distributed evenly, unlike Huggies Elite Soft, where my baby would get a wet clump around the waist. Another thing I liked is that there are no white clumps from the filler like with Elite Soft.
I've got to say, I don't miss the wetness indicator - I never really saw the point in it anyway.
I've been using Huggies Ultra Comfort for a while now, and I have to say that I'm really impressed. They've become my go-to diaper choice, and I've even bought multiple packs! The convenient elastic waistband is a game-changer - it stretches, making it easy to put them on. The adhesive strips are really strong and hold securely! Plus, there are divisions at the front that make it easy to fasten the diaper evenly on both sides.
There are also elastic cuffs around the leg holes.
One thing to note about sizing - it's easy to get it wrong. My son was already a bit too small for the 'triple' size (5-9 kg) at 7 kg. We ended up moving to the 'quadruple' size (8-14 kg). So, when choosing a size, it's best to go by the minimum recommended weight.
