Huggies Elite Soft Training Pants: A Mixed Bag

summarizeEditor's Summary

I gotta say, I was really looking forward to trying Huggies Elite Soft training pants after loving their diapers. Unfortunately, these training pants were a total letdown. Here's why: they're not as absorbent as I'd like, and the material feels cheap. I'll dive into the details below.

When my little one started growing up, it was time to switch from diapers to training pants. I want to mention that Huggies Elite Soft were one of my favorites among diapers, but these training pants were a total letdown. I'll tell you why in this review.
► Line: Elite Soft
► Brand: Huggies
► Size on photo: 3 (for 6 - 11 kg)
I usually buy diapers either at Detsky Mir or on marketplaces. The best deals with promo codes come out to be around 10-20 rubles per item, or even free if I pay with bonuses: here.
Appearance
The packaging has the familiar Elite Soft logo.
I've got a handy handle for carrying.
There are perforated marks for easy opening of the packaging.
The training pants themselves are soft and comfortable, feeling really cozy.
Just like diapers, the training pants have a yellow indicator that turns blue when wet.
Diapers Double, Triple, and Training Pants - TripleI've also got a ribbon for compact disposal with a blue tab. You can just tear the used training pants along the sides instead of removing them.
Hands-on experience
I'm reviewing the size 3 diapers, which are supposed to fit babies weighing 6-11 kg. My little one is 7.5 kg, and as you can see from the photos, the diaper is already quite snug and even a bit tight in the legs. There's still some room on the tummy, but not much.
I have no idea how they'd fit an 11 kg baby, when they're already so tight on my little one. As I've mentioned before, Huggies Elite Soft diapers are one of my favorites. But these underwear have been a total letdown!
1. They leave marks on my little one's legs almost every time, and sometimes they even chafe.
Marks from the elastic 2. Not all of them, but about one in five, I find this weird, pressing strip at the back, slightly to the right (from my perspective, and to the left of my little one). I have no idea what it's supposed to be.
3. They run way too small - the size chart is completely off.
4. Occasionally, the diaper leaks. I'm not super upset about it, since my little one can get a bit wriggly and it's not uncommon for the diaper to leak after a particularly energetic session.
5. And the worst part? They don't contain my little one's poop! Almost every time, we end up with a mess on our hands (and clothes).
(I'm not sharing the not-so-pretty photo).
At first, I thought my little one was just wriggling out of the diaper, but upon closer inspection, I realized that the poop is actually seeping through the fabric of the diaper itself!
I mean, come on, Huggies Elite Soft diapers are a total fail! It's a shame, really, for a brand like Huggies.
I don't know if I just got a bad batch or what, but I'm seriously disappointed. I'm speechless!
There are way better and cheaper options out there, so I wouldn't recommend Huggies Elite Soft diapers at all.
THE VERDICT
✔️ super soft
❌ leak and don't hold a full load
❌ don't always absorb well
❌ leave residue from the tight tabs
❌ sometimes have a stiff strip at the back
❌ run small
