summarizeEditor's Summary

As a parent, you're constantly on the lookout for the best products to keep your little ones happy and healthy. I recently had to switch my toddler to Huggies diapers, and I'm sharing my honest review of this popular brand. From absorbency to comfort, I'll dive into the pros and cons of this diaper change. With two kids, I've learned what works and what doesn't, and I'm here to give you the lowdown on Huggies. I've been using Huggies diapers for a few weeks now, and I've noticed a big difference in how well they absorb and how comfortable they are for my toddler. The design is gentle on their skin, and the adhesive is strong without leaving any residue. I also appreciate that the material is soft and breathable, keeping my child cool and dry. Plus, Huggies diapers are affordable without sacrificing quality. However, I do wish they lasted a bit longer, as I find myself changing them more frequently than I'd like. Additionally, the size range could be a bit more inclusive for larger or smaller children. Overall, I'm happy with my decision to switch to Huggies diapers, but I do think there's room for improvement.

A Reluctant Switch to Huggies Diapers for My Toddler
Hello everyone!
I'm writing this review because I recently had to switch my second child to a different type of diaper, and I'll explain why in a bit.
So, when life gets back to normal and my kid's habits don't change, I've been using the same brand of diapers that I found to be the best in every way. They fit well, the material is comfortable, they absorb well, and they don't cause any irritation or allergic reactions. At this point, I'm not looking for anything else, especially since this brand is still a great value for money.
It was the same with my second son until he was about a year and a half old. But then he hit the really tough teething phase, and he started having a hard time sleeping at night. He also started drinking a lot more water than usual, which I think is because the cold water helps soothe his sore gums. And after a while, he just got used to drinking a lot of water, even at night.
That's not a bad thing, per se, but it did cause a problem with our usual diapers. They just couldn't handle the extra 'load.' During the day, it was fine, but at night, I didn't want to wake him up to change them, only to have him wake up again soon after. So, he's been waking up 'in a puddle' pretty much every night. But, weirdly, he still sleeps okay even when he's wet.
That's not ideal, of course, but you have to 'pick your poison.' So, I decided to try a different brand of diapers, one that's designed for nighttime use.
I'd already found a decent nighttime option (you can read my review of it in my profile linked below), but I was still looking for a good daytime diaper. And that's when I came across Huggies diapers, size 5, with a weight range of 11-25 kg.
I usually try to buy the bigger packs because they're way more budget-friendly. For a test run, it's probably better to start with a smaller pack first. But I think we'll be fine, and it'll be a shame to throw away the bigger pack we just bought. They should last us for a good while, given the size the manufacturer specified. As for allergies, I'm not too worried since my kid isn't prone to them.
I ended up buying the bigger pack of these diapers again, which has 58 pieces, and I got them on sale at Rubly Bum for 993.90 rubles.
This 'pack' opens up through the special slits at the top.
The diapers are stacked vertically in two piles, two rows each. But only because of this stacking, the packaging folds in half. Minor complaints, though.
Inside, they're arranged neatly, not creased or bent, and they're packed tightly enough that even after removing them from the packaging, they don't fall apart – it's super convenient, and I just move them to the dresser like that.
They're colorful, but the design is the same across all of them, with the pattern arranged differently on each one – even some are upside down.
There's a smell, but it's not strong, and not chemical-like. It's actually kind of pleasant, like toilet soap. And if you store the diapers outside of the packaging, the smell disappears altogether.
Now, about their material and comfort: they're soft, not paper-thin or crinkly. They're pretty thin, though.
I was pleasantly surprised by the elastic, soft rubber strip on the back of these diapers. The rubber on the legs is also super stretchy. The adhesive strips are strong and stick well, and they haven't peeled off like some other brands' have. The only downside is that they're a bit rough on their own and don't have the extra rubber strips that would make them easier to put on.
The inside of these diapers is smooth with no channels or special stitching. What's interesting is that the inside is a light blue color on the front and white on the back. Maybe it's because the front needs to absorb more liquid, or maybe it's a special layer. Either way, it's the same thickness throughout.
They fit my skinny kid, who's just over 12 kg, a bit loosely. They're high up, almost to his belly button. But like the manufacturer said, even with his lean build, they won't last past 25 kg. It's funny how all diaper brands seem to run small, though.
Overall, they're comfy for my son to wear - no chafing, no skin irritation, no pressure on his legs or belly.
The real test is how well they absorb liquid. Despite being thin, they can hold a surprising amount - around 500 ml or more. But we only get 4 hours out of them at most. Still, that's better than our previous brands. I just wish they didn't sag between the legs when they're full. But at least the inside doesn't get all bunched up.
My only major complaint is that they start to sag between the legs when they're completely full. But at least the inside stays smooth.
But yeah, when they're fully loaded, the skin inside stays moist. To be honest, I'm not sure what kind of diapers would stay dry even when they're completely full.
And, finally, my kid hasn't had any allergic reactions or irritation from using them so far.
So, for now, we're sticking with these because they work well for a day and are one of the more affordable options when you buy in bulk.
That's all from me. Thanks for reading!
