Hello!
I'd been wanting wireless earbuds for years, ever since I went on a beach vacation in 2021. I had a lot of work calls and meetings, and I was constantly holding my phone in my hand. I thought it would be amazing to have earbuds so I could talk and pay for groceries at the checkout without having to hold my phone. Plus, it would be great to be able to move around and chat while keeping my hands free! What's not to love?
So, I put the idea on the backburner and didn't think about it again until 2025. WHY DID I FINALLY GET WIRELESS EARBUDS? IT'S SIMPLE!
With a little kid at home, I need my hands free. I get calls occasionally, and sometimes I need to answer them while I'm feeding my kid or doing dishes. My friend can talk for hours, and I need to multitask. I used to put my phone on speaker and walk around the kitchen, but my kid would often hang up on me. He loves pressing the screen! When someone's sleeping, wireless earbuds are a lifesaver. You can watch videos without disturbing anyone.Wireless earbuds don't have a cord, which means I can go for a run without being tethered. I've spent my whole life running with wired earbuds, and it's a real pain! There are plenty of other benefits, but I narrowed it down to the ones that were both highly rated and good quality.
I bought the Huawei FreeBuds SE2 in white. They cost 2000 rubles, and now they're 2300 rubles.
True Wireless HUAWEI FreeBuds SE 2 T0016 White earbuds with an open acoustic design are equipped with a microphone for use as a headset.
I've got a friend who bought a pair of earbuds that don't support voice calls. They're purely for music, and you can't have a conversation on them. I couldn't say what model they are, but knowing that, I dug into the specs. One thing that's a must-have for me is being able to take calls.
Version: Bluetooth 5.3
Integrated microphone
Fast charging
I browsed through the 'M.Video' catalog and realized that the HUAWEI FreeBuds SE 2 are a good option. So, I treated myself to a gift on Christmas. Some people buy diamonds or iPhones, but I opted for a simple pair of earbuds.
Country: China Warranty: 1 year; Service life: 3 years.
I remember the sales consultant trying to convince me to get Samsung earbuds. I've got a Samsung phone, so I thought it made sense to get Samsung earbuds too. Spending 8,000 rubles on earbuds? No thanks. I'm on a tight budget during my maternity leave. But the consultant assured me that I'd be able to return them within a week.
Fast forward to now: it's been over a year, and I'm still using them. And after that experience, I'm not sure I can trust anyone's recommendations. Instead, I read reviews. And they were good, detailed, and included photos.
The Huawei FreeBuds SE2 have an impressive battery life. I've never experienced any dropped calls during my time with them.
• 40 hours of battery life The built-in battery capacity is enough for nine hours. When you top it up with the charging case, you get up to 40 hours of battery life.
The charging is fast. I just pop them into the case, and they start charging.
• Fast charging Ten minutes in the case, and you can enjoy three hours of music.
Connecting the device was a breeze. I used a Samsung Galaxy A34 5G (check out my review here) to get started. Everything connected seamlessly the first time around.
Easy connection and pairing
Just open the case and the earbuds will automatically switch to Bluetooth mode. On your smartphone, tap the connected device on the pop-up screen.
I haven't experimented with gestures, but it turns out you can customize them.
You can customize gestures, adjust the equalizer settings, and track the battery life in the official AI Life app. The package includes a USB Type-C charging cable. The build quality is solid, with a durable and wear-resistant plastic body.
I was surprised to find that there's actually a water protection feature.
It has a water resistance rating of IP54.
I looked it up to understand what that means:
The number 5 indicates partial protection against dust and particles smaller than 1mm in diameter. The number 4 means protection against splashes from any angle.
I've been handling the earbuds carefully, but despite that, there's still a tiny speck of dirt in the seam. I clean it off with a needle and a soft cloth.
The package includes a cable.
I've been using a charger from my Samsung tablet (see my review here) to charge these headphones.
Pretty weird that they're no longer selling adapters. The packaging is all in a foreign language.
But there's some info in Russian.
The headphones themselves look stylish and modern, of course. I mean, these aren't the old ones. And don't even get me started on the wired ones – they were so uncomfortable I couldn't wear them for long.
These Huawei headphones are comfortable, small, and stay put in my ears.
One of the first things I noticed about these earbuds is the charging port.
You can also see the magnets on the earbuds.
The plastic is high-quality and durable.
The sound is great and clear.
The only thing I'm worried about is losing them, but I haven't taken them on a run yet. That's still in the future.
After using them for a while, I didn't find any major drawbacks. They work great and are comfortable to wear.
Are they worth the money? Absolutely. I wouldn't have thought they're worth 2000 rubles, but some people say they're too expensive for earbuds.
Here's how they look. I like them! They come in black too, but I prefer the white ones.
I'm wrapping up my review, and I'm happy to say I didn't find any major downsides. But the pluses are definitely there:
They're high-quality Super modern Stylish Good-looking They've got protection You can not only listen but also have conversations They connect quickly via Bluetooth The sound is amazing They're great value for money People still ask me why I got these earbuds, which I can easily lose. But honestly, I've been using them in -25-degree weather, and my phone stays warm and toasty in my pocket, even without holding it.
If you're thinking of buying wireless earbuds but think it's a waste of money, trust me, it's not. I've already thanked my Huawei FreeBuds SE2 a thousand times for their performance.
I'm so glad I got the Huawei FreeBuds SE2 - not a single regret. My rating: 5 out of 5.
And yeah, about the customer support. Take it from me: do your research, read reviews, and don't just take anyone's word for it.
Thanks for reading, and I hope you found this review helpful!
