Our Favorite Holiday Book for Little Ones

summarizeEditor's Summary

I've been blown away by how much my two-year-old loves this book. It's all about a little kitten named Shmyak who's super excited to meet Grandfather Frost. We've had some great conversations about what Shmyak is wearing, what he's carrying in his sack, and who he's giving gifts to. It's perfect for families who like to read together and discuss the topics that come up in the books. The illustrations are seriously top-notch, and I've mentioned them in my review of Shmyak's other adventures.

This book has been a game-changer for reading with my two-year-old. It's all about New Year's and a little kitten named Shmyak who's super excited to meet Grandfather Frost. We've already had some great conversations about what Shmyak is wearing, what he's carrying in his sack, and who he's giving gifts to.
I remember when my little sister was going through that phase where she'd ask if she was good all the time. It was both adorable and exhausting for parents. This book helps little ones understand that doing what their parents ask can make them happy, or feel good about themselves.
What I love about the Shmyak series is that it's perfect for families who like to read together and discuss the topics that come up in the books. These books are great for sparking conversations and making reading a fun, interactive experience.
The illustrations in the Shmyak books are seriously top-notch, and I've mentioned them in my review of Shmyak says thank you.
Reading this book with my little one has been a great way to introduce him to the magic of New Year's and the kindness of Shmyak. It's a wonderful way to spend quality time together and create some amazing memories.
