Editor's Summary
I've been using Heimish's hydrophilic balm for a week now, and I gotta say, it's been a wild ride. The packaging is super cool, with a complex bottle design that's both functional and Instagram-worthy. One thing that really stood out to me was the ease of use - the top lid is designed with a little scoop inside, making it easy to get to the balm without having to remove the entire cap. However, I've noticed that the balm can be a bit pricey, and the packaging isn't exactly eco-friendly. I've been using it to remove makeup, and it's been working like a charm. It leaves no greasy residue behind, even after multiple uses, and it's super gentle on my skin, even for sensitive areas like my eyes. The scent is pleasant, but not overpowering. I've also noticed that it's not the most convenient product to travel with, due to the size and packaging. Overall, it's a solid product, but not without its flaws.
Specifications
Hello everyone!
I'm sharing my thoughts on Heimish's hydrophilic balm, comparing it to other cleansers and telling you about my experience with it.
Design:
The packaging is pretty cool - a complex bottle with an interesting design.
I love how you can open the top lid (with a little scoop inside!) and then remove the protective cap, making it easy to get to the balm. Alternatively, you can just remove the top part altogether.
The extra compartment on top is a nice touch - it protects the product and stores the scoop. It's a small detail, but it makes a big difference in usability.
I can also see myself reusing the bottle for other household purposes.
The 120ml size is great, and it's also available in a 50ml format if you want to try it out without committing to the full size.
Texture and scent:
The texture is typical of hydrophilic balms, but it transforms into a soft, milky consistency when you apply it to your skin.
The scent is incredibly subtle, with a hint of vanilla and flowers.
I've been testing it on Super Stay red lipstick, which has been a challenge to remove - but this balm has been a game-changer, even after multiple washes:
Ingredients:
I love that this product lists all the ingredients, especially the natural oils and extracts. And the best part? It doesn't dry out my skin, which is a total game-changer.
Value for money:
One jar lasts me around 2.5 to 3 months with daily use. To put that into perspective, my usual hydrating oil lasts me almost a year.
Looking for a better deal:
This balm is a cult favorite, so it's easy to find it in stores or online. But if you're willing to wait, I've got some options for you:
IHerb - 1190 rubles (+15% discount in cart, they often have bigger sales too)
Volgabus - 1182 rubles
Ozon - 1220 rubles, they often have sales and you can use your loyalty points to pay for part of it
StyleKorean - 690 rubles (they always have the lowest prices on Korean skincare, but keep in mind that free shipping only starts at 4000 rubles, so it's better to order in bulk)
My verdict:
I first heard about this balm from Cassandra Bankson, who I trust for skincare recommendations. My hydrating oil was running low, so I ordered this from IHerb during a sale.
My skin type: combination, oily in the spring and summer, dry in the fall and winter, sensitive; occasional breakouts, enlarged pores, and hyperpigmentation.
After using it for over six months, I can confidently say that this product is a winner. Unlike Banila Co, my skin doesn't feel dry after washing it off, and my makeup comes off completely, even the most stubborn stuff. I've tried some pretty long-lasting products, but this balm can handle even the toughest ones, like the lipstick I'm wearing in the photo. It didn't cause any irritation, and it removes my SPF and BB cream nicely.
I'm happy to report that my pores weren't clogged with other products, and my skin didn't become more sensitive, which speaks to the quality of the cleansing. After washing, I didn't feel the need to immediately apply a moisturizer, so my skin wasn't dry, which is especially important for me during the fall and winter months. I'd definitely recommend this balm, but for one reason I won't be using it again.
Now that the balm is almost gone, I've switched back to the hydrophilic oil from Purito and I won't be going back to Heimish for a simple reason - the cost of the product and the constant need to reorder it.
Cleansing is a daily ritual for me, and I don't want to constantly buy new products for makeup removal. I've been ordering from StyleKorean lately, but to place an order, I need to either gather with friends or wait until a few more products are out of stock. So, I end up ordering every 5-6 months. It's hard to time it perfectly so that the package arrives on the same day the last bottle runs out, and doing this every two months is expensive in terms of product and energy.
And, of course, I don't want to pay $1200 for a product when I can get it for $700. The lack of availability is a major minus, especially considering how much we have access to in just a few clicks.
If it wasn't for this situation, which might not be relatable to many, I'd definitely go back to it. The balm is really good.
And if the price isn't a concern for you, and you have easier access to it, I'd recommend this balm for its good formula and quality cleansing.
Thanks for reading! Stay healthy and beautiful! :3
