Magnetic Enchanted Forest Nail Polish by Grattol

I've tried my fair share of at-home nail polishes, but Grattol's Magnetic Enchanted Forest really stands out. The formula is long-lasting and chip-resistant, and that magnetic effect gives you a pro-looking finish without the hassle of a salon visit. Plus, it's super easy to apply - just swipe on and let the magnet do its thing. I've been using it for a week now, and I'm impressed with how well it holds up. The build quality is solid, and the battery life of the polish is impressive. It's definitely worth the investment if you want a great at-home nail polish that's easy on the wallet.

A game-changing magnetic polish with a catch

summarizeEditor's Summary

I'm a total nail polish fanatic, and I've gotta say, I love trying out different types. I've recently come to realize that the industry has come a long way, and there are now so many amazing polishes out there, including ones with all sorts of effects like holographic, glitter, and even magnetic! My experience with the Grattol Magnetic Polish Enchanted Forest Collection has been pretty awesome, but there's one thing that's got me scratching my head - the lack of a magnet included with the polish. Now, I know what you're thinking: 'Is it worth the hype?' Well, let me tell you, this polish is a total game-changer, but don't expect it to come with all the bells and whistles. For the price, I'd say it's a total bargain - around 400 rubles for a 9ml bottle that's packed with high-quality goodness. But, let's get real, the lack of a magnet is a bit of a hassle, especially for newbies. And, if you're not careful, the polish can be a bit tricky to remove. Still, I'd say it's worth the extra effort for the unique effects and stunning color selection in the Enchanted Forest Collection.

I'm a total nail polish enthusiast, and I've got to say, I love trying out different types. I've recently come to realize that the industry has come a long way, and there are now so many amazing polishes out there, including ones with all sorts of effects like holographic, glitter, and even magnetic!
I actually only tried out magnetic polishes this spring because I got one as a gift... and it was a game-changer. I used to think it was a hassle to deal with magnets, but it's actually really fun and easy to use.
Grattol Magnetic Polish Enchanted Forest Collection
Price: around 400 rubles.
Volume: 9 ml.
Where to buy: the brand is widely available on Vb
I want to note that the polish is sold without a magnet. For those who are already familiar with magnetic polishes, it's no big deal, but for newbies, it would be nice to have a magnet included.
And yeah, the fact that the polish is magnetic does make a big difference. I've seen a lot of reviews on marketplaces from women who didn't read the product description carefully and ended up disappointed with the color. They'd complain that the color wasn't what they expected, but it's because they didn't realize they needed to use the magnet. I feel bad for the sellers.
Manufacturer's description
To get the sparkly effect, just hold the magnet close to the freshly painted base coat for 10-30 seconds. The finish is textured, so you'll need an extra 1-2 coats of topcoat to smooth it out. After applying topcoat, hold the magnet for another 10 seconds to set the glitter.
Appearance.
This polish comes in a classic cylinder bottle with a black plastic cap. The shade name is printed on a sticker at the bottom of the bottle.
I'm not sure why they'd highlight the 17-free formula, but I guess it's a selling point for some people.
Ingredients:
ButylAcetate; EthylAcetate; Nitrocellulose; Acetyl Tributyl Citrate; Isopropyl Alcohol; Adipic Acid/Neopentyl Glycol/Trimellitic Anhydride Copolymer; Stearalkonium Bentonite; Styrene/Acrylates Copolymer; Silica; Octocrylene; hexanal; Algae Extract; phosphoric acid; Mannitol; Diatomaceous Earth; zinc sulfate; Silicon dioxide; Polyethylene terephthalate; Calcium aluminum borosilicate; пигмент
The brush has a half-moon cut and is nice and compact. The bristles aren't stiff or poky.
I narrowed it down to two shades from the collection: Queen Leila and Princess Aurora. Honestly, all the shades are gorgeous, but it's about how many you need. I mean, do you really need five similar shades? I've come to realize that I don't need that many, because when I see barely any difference on my nails, it starts to get annoying. So, I carefully thought through my magnetic polish collection and settled on these two.
My Experience
Okay, I have to admit, I was a bit skeptical about the instructions and I was like, 'seriously?!' Most of my other magnetic polishes ask for 3-10 seconds, and 10 is even a bit too long for me – I usually hold for 5. But then I remembered I have these other polishes that I mentioned before, and they're not that easy to magnetize because they're thick due to the sludge. I guess it's the same story here – you just have to wait.
And I have to give credit to the seller for including a plastic tip with the polish. It's super convenient to try out the magnetic polish and test the magnetization.
I tried it out right away, and I quickly realized that these polishes are a bit finicky. They don't want to magnetize well within the first 3-4 seconds – you need to hold the magnet for a bit longer, ideally at least 15 seconds. Maybe my magnet is just weak, but with my peridot polishes, 3 seconds was enough, and here I need more time.
One thing I'll say upfront is that I didn't bother with the magnet trick after applying the top, though. I've never done it with other polishes and they've all turned out great. Plus, I'm a bit clumsy and I'd struggle to get the magnet to line up perfectly.
So, let's talk about the colors.
Queen Leila
Queen Leila - a black jelly with gold (wheat) magnetic flake and chunky, irregular silver glitter.
At first, I was a bit disappointed. I couldn't get the polish to shift to a deep, dark blue like the pictures on the website.
What I got was more of a grey with blue undertones, and it wasn't super vibrant. But then I started playing with the lighting and noticed that the color shifted depending on the angle.
Here's an example of the color shift on one of my nails.
The finish on this polish is more on the rough side, so I'd definitely recommend using a top coat.
The polish is pretty thick, but that's normal for jelly polishes with a lot of glitter. I applied two coats and topcoat. At first, it seemed like it was all dry, but after some physical activity, I could see that the polish was still soft and easy to scratch, even after an hour. Keep that in mind.
As for durability: after two days, I noticed a huge chip on one of my nails, but that was about it. Maybe I'm just being too hard on myself.
It's not easy to remove because the glitter tends to stick to my nail, but that's just what you get with this type of polish.
I was pleasantly surprised by the color shifting in different lighting conditions. It's like it's radiating gold in electric light.
Princess Aurora
Princess Aurora - a beautiful purple-blue jelly with a magnetic holographic pigment that shifts to a pink undertone, a golden-green holographic pigment, and a mix of small and irregular pink glitter.
I was a bit surprised by how thick the polish was - I applied two coats and it took a while to dry. I tried to scratch it with my nail after an hour and a half, and the finish came off slightly because the underlying layer was a bit soft. Luckily, I was able to fix it.
However, the color itself was a bit of a letdown for me. It's a sort of grey-blue with a pink shimmer that reminded me of a standard holographic or metallic finish. The real beauty of it comes out in the sunlight or under a UV light.
With flash
Overall, the polish looks pretty tame, even if it is pretty. I used to get really excited about finishes like this, but now I'm just a bit underwhelmed.
So, here's the verdict:
The colors are gorgeous, but a bit tricky to work with. The texture is thick and jelly-like, making them a real challenge to dry quickly. I've found that it takes at least two hours to get a decent finish, and even then, you need to be gentle with your hands. Any sudden movements or exposure to warm water can ruin the manicure. It's like they're still wet after an hour!
They also don't magnetize immediately, requiring a bit more time to get a good shine. I think this is related to the texture, which is a bit more finicky than I'd like.
I won't comment on the color itself, as that's a matter of personal taste. I wasn't a fan of Princess Aurora, but that's not the product's fault – I knew what I was getting into, so I won't deduct points. On the other hand, Queen Leila surprised me with its unique shade, which I don't have in my collection, so I'm happy with that.
It seems like you're either all in or all out with these lacquers. The texture, with its rich, glassy finish, is definitely heavier than a silk finish from another brand, which is why it takes longer to dry and magnetize. It's a bit more high-maintenance, but the payoff is worth it.
As with all gel polishes, they're a bit finicky to remove, but the process is relatively straightforward.
So, to summarize:
Rich, multi-dimensional color options: gel, multi-chrome, shimmer, and more.To get a good shine, you need to hold the magnet for at least 10 seconds and use a stronger magnet.Beautiful, intricate color shifts.Gel-like texture, takes a while to dry, and stays soft for over an hour.Removal can be a bit tricky, as any gel polish tends to stick to your nail.
If I had to rate this on a 10-point scale, I'd give it 8.5 out of 10.
I'd still recommend it, but only if you can live with the downsides.
Thanks for reading my review!
