Country Club – Tver, Russia Reviews

I hung out at the Country Club in Tver for a few days and it didn’t disappoint. The grounds are spacious, the facilities feel sturdy, and the price is solid value for money. Perfect for a chill weekend or a quick getaway.

A Recent Weekend Getaway to GlinTvud Rest House
We recently visited GlinTvud Rest House in Tver Region over the weekend. We were drawn to this place due to our friends' recommendation and our shared love for Tver Region's nature and the Orsha River.
We booked the Shale Family Chalet (accommodates 6 people) for 25,000 rubles. While it was cheaper than many options in the Moscow region and Tver Region, it wasn't exactly budget-friendly.
Our chalet was well-maintained, beautiful, and spotless. The chalets are quite far apart, ensuring a peaceful stay without any disturbances.
There's a barbecue and grill available on the premises, which is included in the cost. Check-in is at 13:00, which is a big plus, as many similar places have a 17:00 check-in time, resulting in a wasted day. In our case, we felt we were getting almost a full day's worth of stay.
Our chalet had:
1 bedroom with a large double bed1 room with a bunk bed (1.5 sleeping places) and an additional 1.5-person bedA foldable sofa in the living room (combined with the kitchen)Separate toilet and bathroom (with a shower)A kitchen with all the necessary amenities, including glassware, cups, and a dishwasher with tabletsWe had the Smart Home system, AliSa, integrated into our chalet, which allowed us to connect to it and listen to music without any issues. However, it failed to control the lighting as promised.
The property has direct access to the Orsha River, offering a beautiful view of the pine forest. I was pleasantly surprised by the natural beauty of Tver Region, and I highly recommend visiting.
There's a small pond on the premises, surrounded by chalets, with ducks and a swan that seemed to trust humans. We also spotted a few animals, including deer, goats, and a friendly dog.
Unfortunately, we missed having a clear administration area to address any issues that may arise, and some small shops on the premises. The chalets do have brochures advertising food delivery services that will deliver to your doorstep, but it seems like the setup is designed for self-catering, with an emphasis on grilling and preparing meals.
I was slightly taken aback by the ongoing construction on the premises. The complex is relatively new (about 3-4 years old), and there are many new chalets and bathhouses being built. There's also a large, unfinished building that appears to be a restaurant or hotel, which seems to be on hold. While it's understandable that the area isn't fully developed yet, it can be uncomfortable to navigate the construction site, especially during cold weather.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but we visited during the cold season and spent most of our time indoors. I think it would be a different experience during the summer months. Once the construction is complete, the prices might increase, and it might be worth exploring other options.
Editor's Summary
GlinTvud Rest House offers a peaceful getaway on the banks of the Orsha River. While it's not perfect, with some areas still under construction, it's a great option for those looking to relax in nature. With its well-maintained chalets, beautiful surroundings, and friendly staff, it's a great choice for families and couples alike.
