Breaking Up with Quarantine Snacks: How I Lost Weight with a Green Diet

summarizeEditor's Summary

I was skeptical of restrictive diets, but a green diet helped me lose weight and taught me how to maintain a healthy balance of proteins, fats, and carbs. With a focus on whole foods and mindful eating, I shed a few pounds and stuck to my size 44 clothes. But it wasn't just about the weight loss – it was about finding a sustainable way to eat that made me feel good, both physically and mentally. Throughout my journey, I've learned to limit my intake of processed snacks and sugary drinks, and instead focus on nourishing my body with fresh fruits, veggies, and lean proteins. It's not always easy, but the results are worth it. I've noticed a significant improvement in my energy levels and overall well-being, and I've been able to maintain my weight loss over time. The diet has also helped me develop healthier eating habits that I can stick to in the long term.

Ladies, it's time to get back in shape, don't you think?
I've always been against quick, restrictive diets. Instead, I focus on healthy eating habits that I can stick to in my daily life. My diet is all about balance - a mix of proteins, fats, and carbohydrates.
I'm not a fan of restrictive eating, whether it's a vegan diet, a low-carb diet, or a low-fat diet. In my menu, there are foods I try to limit, like mayonnaise, sausages, fast food, pickles, marinades, snacks, and processed sweets, fried and overly fatty foods. Everything else I eat in moderation. At 1.59 meters tall, I weighed 48 kg at 20 years old, 52 kg at 30, and now I'm around 55-56 kg.

I've managed to maintain my weight and stick to my size 44 clothes.

But the pandemic brought some changes. We worked on a limited schedule, three hours a day, and our fridge and kitchen shelves were overflowing with provisions stockpiled for the apocalypse. There were grand plans for 33 general cleanings and a few minor repairs, but somehow all our energy and physical activity went into regular kitchen raids to check our food reserves. Instead of our usual oatmeal and salad, our table was filled with pizza, baked goods, and cookies. The results didn't take long to show up...
And now it's summer, and it's time to put an end to this carbohydrate mess! Summer is the perfect season to lose weight.
For me, the key to shedding unwanted pounds was choosing a diet that worked - and that's exactly what I did with the green diet.
The green diet is all about focusing on green veggies and fruits, which make up half of your daily intake.
This is a great summer diet for a small weight loss - around 3-5 kg. It's designed to last for no more than 10 days, making it perfect for petite girls looking to tone up their tummies. If you're a girl with a smaller build, you'll know what I mean - losing 2-3 kg is a huge achievement!xa0
Green diets were actually created by American nutritionists. There's also the yellow, red, and purple diets, which are great for detox and light weight loss.
So, how does it work?
Green veggies and fruits are packed with vitamins, minerals, and chlorophyll, which helps cleanse your body of toxins and boost your immune systemGreen foods suppress your appetite. People subconsciously think that brightly colored fruits and veggies are more appealing, which increases their appetite. But with green foods, it's the opposite.Green veggies and fruits are high in fiber, so they'll leave you feeling full in no time.Green foods are generally low in calories.
The rules of the green diet are simple:
I've found it's a good idea to make sure half of your daily food intake comes from green veggies. When it comes to seasonings, I've stuck to herbs, garlic, and olive oil.Drinking plenty of water is a must - I aim for up to 2 liters a day.Eating in moderation is key - I try to eat smaller portions and space out my meals every 2 hours.Like with any diet, I've had to give up sweets, fatty foods, and fried goodies, as well as coffee and booze. I've also cut back on meat and dairy products.
I haven't been super strict about following the rules - I still drink coffee and eat some meat. I do get puffy in the mornings, so I'm not too keen on overdoing it with the water. I've also cut back on nuts, as they're super high in calories.
It's not like you can't eat foods that aren't green - it's all about balance. I've found that it's okay to have a mix of colors on your plate, as long as half of your diet is green. White foods are also fair game - I've been enjoying yogurt, kefir, and cottage cheese without any added extras.
I've been easing into this diet by gradually cutting back on carbs and limiting my intake of colorful fruits. Any diet is about giving up baked goods and sweets - but to be honest, I'm not too fussed about giving up treats.
My green diet menu consisted of:
CucumbersZucchiniHerbsPeppersGrapesCeleryApplesPearsAvocadoBroccoliGreen beansGreen saladGreen peasOlives
The best part is that you can really mix up your menu, so the green diet doesn't get boring.
I didn't have a strict protein restriction, so I ate eggs and white meat in moderation, which allowed me to extend my diet to 2 weeks. Considering my start and end dates, that was 3 weeks. Then I added some colorful fruits and increased my protein and carb intake.
My Experience
I didn't struggle much with the green diet, as I usually try not to starve myself and end up overeating. The challenge wasn't with the green foods, but with the temptation to grab bread - that was the real test of willpower! Alongside green veggies and fruits, I had omelets made with rice flour and cheese, various porridges, all the fatty dairy products without additives, boiled meat, and olive oil. I quickly felt light and energized. The goal I set for myself was achieved, and my tummy got smaller and more toned.

I've been using this product for a week now, and I'm really impressed with the build quality. The buttons feel solid, and the battery life has been a pleasant surprise - it lasts longer than I expected.
One area where I was a bit skeptical was the customer support, but my concerns were alleviated when I reached out to their team. They responded promptly and were super helpful. I also appreciate the return policy, which gives me peace of mind when trying out new products.
For the price, I think this product offers great value for money. The shipping was quick, and the packaging was decent. Overall, I'm really happy with my purchase, and I'd definitely recommend it to others.
