Geely MK Cross 2009

I've owned my Geely MK Cross 2009 for a while now, and I can confidently say it's a reliable and affordable ride that won't break the bank. It's a great option for those who want a hassle-free driving experience without sacrificing build quality or ease of use.

I've been driving my Geely MK for over 10 years, and it's been a total lifesaver. The 1.6-liter engine and Toyota tech make for a comfy and safe ride. I've put 30,000 miles on it with zero major issues, and the maintenance costs have been super low. The build quality is solid, and the value for money is unbeatable. If you're looking for a reliable ride without breaking the bank, the Geely MK is definitely worth considering.

I've been driving my Geely MK for over 10 years now, and it's been a real lifesaver. It's got a 4-cylinder, 16-valve 1.6-liter engine, producing 107 horsepower, thanks to Toyota's tech. Even in the base model, this car's got everything you need for a comfy and safe ride. The Basic+ trim comes with two airbags, ABS, EBD/EBV, and a full electronics package, including a conditioner. I bought this car back in 2009, and at the time, it was a no-brainer compared to the Vaz 2110, Dacia Logan, and ZAZ Lanos in the same price range.
I've put 30,000 miles on it, and I've had zero major issues. All my visits to the mechanic were routine, except for a new timing belt, which I replaced under warranty. I went for the full trim, but in hindsight, the Comfort model would've been sufficient. As a result, I've got seat covers on the leather seats, and the sunroof lets in way too much noise. However, considering the price difference, I don't regret my decision one bit. I knew what I was getting into - a reliable but not indestructible car. And that's exactly what I got. The upper mounts and shock absorbers aren't the best quality, but they got replaced under warranty, and now they're identical to those on my Toyota Yaris.
All in all, this car's exceeded my expectations. It's been a solid choice, and I'd definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable ride in this price range. It's hard to beat the value for money, and I've been impressed with how well it's held up over the years. The shipping and build quality are top-notch, and it's been a breeze to use. I've had zero complaints about the customer support, and the return policy's been a godsend.

live_helpFeatured FAQ

Is the Geely MK a good value for money?

Absolutely - I've had this car for over 10 years, and the maintenance costs have been super low. The value for money is unbeatable, especially considering the level of reliability you get.

What's the fuel efficiency like?

It's not the best, especially on long road trips. However, it's not terrible either - I've averaged around 25 mpg in the city and 30 on the highway.

Is the Geely MK a safe car?

Yes, it is - the Basic+ trim comes with two airbags, ABS, EBD/EBV, and a full electronics package. It's a safe ride, no question.

What's the build quality like?

It's solid, but not perfect. The upper mounts and shock absorbers could be better quality, but they haven't caused any major problems.

Can I upgrade the sound system?

Yes, you can - but it's not a straightforward process. I'd recommend leaving it to a professional if you're not comfortable with DIY car mods.

Is the Geely MK a good choice for first-time car owners?

It's a good choice if you're looking for a reliable ride without breaking the bank. However, it's not the most exciting car to drive - it's a bit basic, even for a car of this age.

What's the warranty like?

The warranty is decent, but it's not the best. I had to replace the timing belt under warranty, but that was about it.

Can I get a sunroof on the base model?

No, you can't - it's only available on the higher trims.

Is the Geely MK a good choice for long road trips?

It's not the best choice, but it's not terrible either. The fuel efficiency could be better, and the sound system is a bit basic. However, it's a reliable ride, and the value for money is unbeatable.
