I was searching for a hotel near Flic-en-Flac Beach on the southwest coast of Mauritius, and this one caught my eye. I'll break down the pros and cons, as everyone's priorities are different when it comes to a vacation.
The good stuff:
The hotel's grounds are seriously stunning, with lush greenery and colorful plants and palm trees everywhere. The staff does a great job keeping everything looking neat and tidy, and it's a pleasure to walk around.
The food is generally great, with a good selection of options at the buffet. You can always find something to eat, and there's a nice variety of meat, seafood, and veggies.
The beach access is a huge plus, with a small designated area and comfy lounge chairs with umbrellas. It's nice to have palm trees providing shade, too.

We also spotted a healthy cockroach in the bathroom and another in the closet, which made me hesitant to use the toilet. And if you look closely, you'll see cockroaches scurrying around on the ground. Be careful with scorpions, as I accidentally stepped on one on the beach in the evening - not fun for those who like to walk barefoot on the sand.
We had some issues with the air conditioning in our room, and it barely worked. It was like it was just blowing air around, not actually cooling the room.
