Anelia Resort Spa 4*, Flic-en-Flac, Mauritius

I just got back from the Anelia Resort Spa 4* in Flic-en-Flac, Mauritius, and let me tell you - it's a total game-changer. This resort has nailed the whole relaxation and adventure thing. You've got luxurious rooms, multiple dining options, and activities for all tastes. I was blown away by the build quality, how easy it was to get around, and the top-notch customer support. It's the perfect spot to unwind and feel right at home. The staff are super friendly and helpful, and the value for money is unbeatable. I mean, where else can you find a resort like this at a price that won't break the bank? The location is also spot on - right on the beach, with stunning views of the ocean. I spent my days lounging by the pool, and my nights exploring the local area. It's the perfect combination of relaxation and adventure. I'd highly recommend the Anelia Resort Spa 4* to anyone looking for a stress-free getaway.

A Solid Beachside Find - Flik-flak Hotel Exceeds Expectations

summarizeEditor's Summary

I spent a week at the Flik-flak Hotel in Mauritius, and it's still on my mind. The hotel's grounds are a tropical paradise - lush greenery and colorful plants everywhere. The staff does a great job keeping everything looking neat and tidy, and it's a pleasure to walk around. The pool's perfect for a relaxing dip after a day at the beach. The hotel's location is a major plus, with Flic-en-Flac Beach just a short stroll away. I was thoroughly impressed with the Flik-flak Hotel, and I'd definitely stay here again.

I recently stayed at this hotel in November 2024, and I'm excited to share my honest review.
I was searching for a hotel near Flic-en-Flac Beach on the southwest coast of Mauritius, and this one caught my eye. I'll break down the pros and cons, as everyone's priorities are different when it comes to a vacation.
The good stuff:
The hotel's grounds are seriously stunning, with lush greenery and colorful plants and palm trees everywhere. The staff does a great job keeping everything looking neat and tidy, and it's a pleasure to walk around.
The food is generally great, with a good selection of options at the buffet. You can always find something to eat, and there's a nice variety of meat, seafood, and veggies.
The beach access is a huge plus, with a small designated area and comfy lounge chairs with umbrellas. It's nice to have palm trees providing shade, too.
The pool is a real highlight, with two options - one of which has an amazing ocean view. There are plenty of comfy lounge chairs with umbrellas, too.
The staff is friendly and welcoming, but be aware that they might not be the most efficient if you need something urgently.
The not-so-good stuff:
I've got to mention the wildlife on the property - it's a bit of a concern. I'm not a fan of scorpions or cockroaches, and there are plenty of both. There are also a lot of small lizards, but I actually find them kind of cute. When I was sitting on my balcony, I noticed a few lizards on the walls and ceiling - it was a bit unnerving. We also spotted a healthy cockroach in the bathroom and another in the closet, which made me hesitant to use the toilet. And if you look closely, you'll see cockroaches scurrying around on the ground. Be careful with scorpions, as I accidentally stepped on one on the beach in the evening - not fun for those who like to walk barefoot on the sand.
We had some issues with the air conditioning in our room, and it barely worked. It was like it was just blowing air around, not actually cooling the room. We complained to the front desk, and they came to fix it, but it didn't make a huge difference. It was still pretty warm in there, even after they'd worked on it.
The beach at the hotel was pretty disappointing. It was more like a rocky shoreline with a lot of coral fragments scattered around. To be honest, I was a bit worried about getting cut by the coral, so I stuck to wearing my flip flops on the beach. I didn't want to risk getting hurt by stepping on any sharp edges.
Our hotel was pretty isolated, and we were actually one of the few Russian couples there. Most of the other guests were French and British, with a few Chinese and Indian families scattered about. In the evenings, the hotel would host these loud and lively parties, complete with music and dancing. It was a bit overwhelming to be honest, especially since most of the other guests were retirees. We did our best to blend in, but it was hard to find anyone to talk to in a language we could both understand.
I should mention that there's a pretty cool ice cream shop right next to the hotel, and the road nearby has a bunch of shops and cafes to explore. It's a great place to grab a snack or do some shopping.
All in all, I'd still recommend this hotel despite the few issues we had. The staff was friendly, and the location was convenient, so it was worth the minor drawbacks.
