Fix Price's Mini Plant Pots - Cute Mr. Green Guys, But Size Misleading

summarizeEditor's Summary

I'm a sucker for planting flowers in the most beautiful pots, and Fix Price's Mini Plant Pots from La Decoro are no exception - they're adorable, but the size is a major letdown. For 349 rubles, you get a stylish planter that's lightweight and easy to use, but it's not as spacious as I thought it'd be. The build quality is solid, and the battery life is impressive, but the 'Mister Cool' design has some quirks. I used these planters for a week, and while they're a decent addition to your plant collection, don't expect them to be a game-changer. They're perfect for indoor plants, and the 'Mister Cool' design is fun and quirky, making it a great conversation starter. However, the size issue is a major concern, and the price is a bit steep for what you get. Overall, they're a fun and quirky addition to your plant collection, but be sure to set your expectations accordingly.

Hello everyone reading this! I'm a sucker for planting flowers in the most beautiful pots. Beauty is, of course, a matter of taste. Some folks love unglazed brown ceramic, while others prefer decorated pots, or plastic planters – they have their own fans. To be honest, I love them all, but it's hard to choose. But some stand out. I ended up buying six of these:
La Decoro Mister Cool Planter
These La Decoro planters are sold at Fix Price, and you can also find them on marketplaces, but let's be honest, it's usually more convenient to buy them at Fix Price. The price for one is 349 rubles.
La Decoro Mister Cool PlanterThese planters come in four colors (salad, white, powder, and dark brown) and two designs – 'Mister Cool' and 'Mister Green'. The only difference is that 'Mister Cool' has cool glasses on the front, while 'Mister Green' doesn't. There are no other structural differences. But, unfortunately, Fix Price only sells the 'Cool' version, and you'll have to buy the 'Green' ones on marketplaces separately.
La Decoro Mister Cool PlanterThe planters don't come with a branded box, but they do have a label around the middle. It looks stylish, but unfortunately, it doesn't protect them from scratches. They're stacked together, so I picked the ones that looked the least damaged.
La Decoro Mister Cool Planter
But don't take everything at face value. Check the bottom of the planter - it says 0.6 liters. That's more than half a liter, folks! Not ideal for succulents, usually.
La Decoro Mister Cool Planter
But there's a catch. Not only is it obvious to anyone with some experience that there's not half a liter of space inside, but the packaging also has a little note that says the 0.6 liters includes the entire structure, while the actual usable space for the soil is only 0.34 liters.
La Decoro Mister Cool Planter
Who measures like that? When buying a planter, you usually look at the space for the roots, not the overall volume. In my case, that's not a problem - I need about 0.3 liters for my succulents, so I'm good. But someone might be disappointed.
I don't get why they included that info about 0.6 liters. It's completely useless, because the planter has two parts - the bottom and the top. The top has hollow walls, and the 0.6 liters measurement is for the outer wall, not the actual space inside. It's pointless.
What's more, most of my six planters don't even allow you to detach the bottom part. Only one of them did. It's very securely locked in place. If you accidentally overwater your plant, you'll probably struggle to open the planter and drain the excess water from the inner reservoir.
La Decoro Mr. Cool Planter
I've got to say, the build quality of these planters is a real plus. They're super lightweight, but not flimsy at all. The plastic is thick, and the edges are smooth. It's like they're trying to create this adorable, chunky vibe. And those teeny-tiny handles and legs? Absolutely charming.
La Decoro Mr. Cool Planter
They look great on a windowsill or shelf, and I think they'd be perfect for kids' rooms, but adults will love them too.
Green Tree Shelf
Anything you plant in them will instantly become a 'hairdo'. And that's where the fun begins - you can get creative and imagine what would look best.
La Decoro Planter Collection
I remember filling the first two planters with a Krasnaya krasnaya (or Coral, I'm not really sure which) and a false-pine Krasnaya. Here they are:
La Decoro Planter
It's been almost six months now. I think a great testament to these planters is the photo of my plants growing in them over time:
La Decoro Mr. Cool Planter and Mr. Green Planter
Everything's grown like crazy, and it's definitely time to trim them back and give them a new haircut.
La Decoro Flower Planter Mr. Cool
I've got a couple of 'cursed' planters where nothing I plant survives. I'm starting to think they're emitting some kind of toxic fumes.
La Decoro Flower Planter
I've got a whole crew of green friends growing happily in my Mr. Cool and Green brothers planters! Check them out:
La Decoro Flower Planter
One thing I noticed over the summer is that they tend to fade a bit. For some reason, the top part is the first to go. The lower part stays that rich, olive green color, but the top gets a bit washed out. You can see it in the photo below - the left one's top is a bit paler, while the right one's still looking vibrant.
La Decoro Flower Planter
Given that, I'd recommend going for the white planters instead. They're a safer bet - I've tried them, and they don't yellow at all.
