First Impression Not Great, Now a Top Pick
Hello everyone!
Taking care of those pearly whites from a young age is like building a good reputation - it starts with the basics.
I've got a 6.5-year-old son, and once he got his first six permanent teeth, I started looking for toothpaste with high fluoride content, marked 6+.
The President Жвачка toothpaste showed up as a gift, minus the packaging.
It's a small 50-gram tube with a capped nozzle that's sealed nicely.I checked the ingredients online:
Sorbitol, Aqua, Silica, Glycerin, Xylitol, Sodium Lauroyl Sarcosinate, Aroma, Xanthan Gum, Sodium Benzoate, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Fluoride, Salvia Officinalis (Sage) Leaf Extract, Stevioside, Citric Acid, CI 14720. Contains sodium fluoride. Mass fraction of fluoride F‾=1000 ppm.
The tube lists the main active ingredients: fluoride, xylitol, and sage extract.
For me, the presence of fluoride and xylitol are key in toothpaste. But I'm still on the lookout for toothpaste with aminofluoride - it's just more effective.
According to what I've read online:
Aminofluoride, or Olaflur, is considered the most effective fluoride compound. It penetrates tooth enamel faster, suppresses oral pathogens more effectively, and sticks to tooth surfaces longer, providing sustained fluoride intake.
Another thing I found interesting:
The best combination for caries prevention is aminofluoride and sodium fluoride, with aminofluoride being the most effective, followed by sodium fluoride.
I only came across one toothpaste that combined two fluoride compounds - Lacalut fluor.
I appreciate that the President Жвачка tube includes the RDA 50 abrasivity index, which is a good indicator of how gentle the toothpaste is.
RDA can be broken down like this:
RDA 30–50: low abrasivity and gentle cleaning
RDA 50–90: moderate abrasivity, safe and effective cleaning
RDA 95–130: suitable for heavy plaque buildup
RDA 150–250: high abrasivity, characteristic of professional products
For sensitive or children's teeth, RDA 50 is a reasonable indicator.
The President Жвачка toothpaste is a gel-like paste with a soft pink hue.
The flavor and aroma are pleasant, but it doesn't taste like bubble gum.At first, my son hated the taste of Жвачка, even getting a bit queasy in the morning.
However, after a couple of weeks, he got used to it, and this toothpaste became better than Elmex junior, which has aminofluoride and 1400 ppm fluoride ions.
The cleaning properties of the President Жвачка toothpaste are excellent, but it also depends on how well you brush your teeth. It produces a moderate amount of foam, but sometimes I have to spit it out.
It freshens my son's mouth decently, but not as well as Elmex junior.
After opening, the toothpaste lasts for six months.
What's more, the toothpaste hasn't been tested on animals.Considering everything, I'd give the President Жвачка toothpaste a solid four out of five.
That's it for now, thanks for reading!
