I'm still trying to wrap my head around the Farmstay Real Avocado cotton face mask. I've been slowly getting rid of my stash of cotton face masks, and today I just wanted a simple, relaxing skincare routine. But no such luck.
Farmstay Real Avocado Cotton Face MaskMy Take
I'm not exactly a fan of cotton face masks. I prefer a carefully curated routine, and cotton masks can be hit or miss. For me, they're more of a treat, and I mainly use them for additional hydration and relaxation. Some masks surprise me with their effects, and I'm eager to try them again. But not this time.

Usage
I applied the mask in the standard way – I put it on my clean skin and left it on for 15-20 minutes, gently pressing it into my skin with tapping motions. That's exactly what I did (although I usually try to keep it on for the maximum recommended time, I couldn't in this case),
Tkaneyva Mask for Face Farmstay Real AvocadoI found it unusual that the manufacturer recommends applying it either warmed up or cooled down (I think this could be a good tip for other masks too, I just hadn't come across it before).
To use it for a cooling effect, place the unsealed mask in the fridge beforehand.
To use it for a warming effect, place the unsealed mask in warm water (around 50-60 degrees Celsius) for 2-3 minutes.

🥑The Cotton Base and the Lekalo🥑
Right from the start, when I pulled the mask out of the packaging, I could see that the cotton base was thick – to be honest, I'm not a fan of thick cotton, but it doesn't affect the overall experience.
Tkaneyva Mask for Face Farmstay Real AvocadoIt was nicely saturated, but not to the point of dripping – the mask didn't leak at all.
Tkaneyva Mask for Face Farmstay Real AvocadoAs for the feel – it was similar to using cheap, damp wipes. Here's a photo of the mask after it had dried out a bit – you can see that the cotton has lost its transparency, but it still resembles the cheap wipes I mentioned earlier.
Tkaneyva Mask for Face Farmstay Real AvocadoThe Lekalo part of the mask didn't adhere well to my face. There weren't many on my forehead, although there were a few – usually, any cotton mask sticks perfectly to my forehead, even if the rest of my face is a bit tricky. In this case, the mask seemed to want to slide off my skin from the top.
Avocado Face Mask from Farmstay Real The lower part of my face wasn't any better - I'm willing to overlook the side creases (they're almost always there), but the mask was peeling off in many places: my nose, under my nose, and especially the chin area - it kept trying to snap back into place, but unfortunately, it would fall off again (and it would also slip off the sides). I think this was exactly because of the subpar fabric - remember how cheap wet wipes feel. If it was the same patch, but made of a different fabric, it would've been a whole lot better, because the patch itself is standard - you can see that from the photo below: Avocado Face Mask from Farmstay RealBut! I think the mask has actually gotten worse - if you read the old reviews, it came with a plastic backing and the essence (scent) was described differently.
🥑 The Essence🥑
That's a bummer. I haven't smelled scents like this in a century, and now I'm getting flashbacks from some dingy courtyards among Khrushchev-era apartments - it's like I'm tossing trash into the street bins, and the smell is rotten and decaying. The associations are just terrifying. I thought I was the only weirdo, and I was hesitant to even write about it, but I scrolled through the reviews from other girls - it seems I'm not alone. In fact, according to the reviews, it's possible that the mask used to have a pleasant scent, but the formula changed, or maybe people's olfactory receptors just work differently - some people like it, while others don't. Either way, since I'm not the only one who's experienced this, there's a risk that it might smell like rotting trash to you too.
As for the essence itself, it's completely unnoticeable - not sticky, not gel-like, just like water. I didn't even want to wash my hands after using it. Honestly, for the entire 15 minutes, it felt like I was sitting with a damp cloth on my face.
Moisturizing and nourishing? I didn't feel any - I actually wanted to apply something to my face instead.
Avocado Face Mask from Farmstay Real Here's another photo after - you can't even see any residue from the essence, nothing. It's like my wrinkles are even more noticeable now. Avocado Face Mask from Farmstay Real🥑The After-Effects🥑
I have to admit, I was surprised by some kind of effect that showed up around an hour after application (I didn't wash off the essence or apply anything on top) and lasted till evening. My skin didn't become moisturized or even hydrated - which is what the manufacturer promised - but I did feel a sense of smoothness and softness. So, I wouldn't call this mask a total waste, but it's definitely weird - and it's not just the amber scent that's the issue, but the effect itself is nothing like what they promised.

🥑FINAL VERDICT🥑
Even with the unexpected effect that showed up later, I wouldn't recommend this mask. There are plenty of other good options out there, including budget-friendly ones, where the application process is pleasant and the effect is just as good. I'm still trying to wrap my head around how someone came up with this formula - it's like they completely messed up the formula. Either way, based on other reviews, there's a risk that you might get a dud product like mine. Trust me, it's not worth it.
