Moscow to St. Petersburg Express Train

I've taken this train a few times, and I gotta say, it's a game-changer. You get to see the Russian countryside in style and comfort, with top-notch amenities and customer support that's always on point. It's a great value for money, if you ask me! The train's got plenty of legroom, comfortable seating, and it's a super convenient way to travel between Moscow and St. Petersburg. Whether you're a local or just visiting, this train's got everything you need for a stress-free ride.

A Night to Remember on the Express Train from St. Petersburg to Moscow

summarizeEditor's Summary

I'm still grinning from ear to ear after my recent adventure on the overnight Express train from St. Petersburg to Moscow. Having the whole SV carriage to myself was a major perk – no noisy neighbors to contend with until Moscow! The lower bunk was super comfy, and the bedding was already made. I was excited to get settled in and make the most of my journey. The Express train departs from St. Petersburg's Moscow Station at 23:30, and arrives in Moscow at 08:30 the next morning on the Leningrad Station. It's a convenient schedule that works well for most travelers.

I'm still grinning from ear to ear after my recent adventure on the overnight Express train from St. Petersburg to Moscow. The luxury of having the whole SV carriage to myself was a major perk – no noisy neighbors to contend with until Moscow!
The lower bunk was all mine, and I was excited to get settled in and start relaxing. The bedding was already made, so all I had to do was climb in and get cozy.
The Express train departs from St. Petersburg's Moscow Station at a comfortable 23:30, and arrives in Moscow at 08:30 the next morning on the Leningrad Station. It's a convenient schedule that works well for most travelers.
The pillows were super comfy, and the blanket was plush – there was even a spare one in case I needed it. The carriage even had its own little sink and mirror, which was a nice touch. There were four towels, and liquid soap in a dispenser.
The cabin had a really useful little stool where you could stash your stuff and your backpack. There was even a small trash can to keep things tidy. The cabin had its own closet for hanging clothes and shelves for storing luggage, safes, and other essentials.
I loved how everything had its own designated spot, so nothing was cluttering up the shelves or taking up space underneath. It made the cabin feel really spacious and organized.
There was even a power outlet to keep your devices charged. When I first got into the cabin, there was a lovely little surprise waiting for me on the table – a fruit platter with grapes, an apple, and an orange slice, plus a piece of dark chocolate and a bottle of water.
And if you want to order food for breakfast, you'll need to ask the conductor ahead of time. I opted for a breakfast option from the menu, which included oatmeal, a meat snack, black tea, bread, butter, apple pastry, and two orange juices.
I had some time to kill before arriving in Moscow, so I flipped through the RZD magazine. One thing that really stood out to me was the variety of menus available – they've got options for adults, kids, and even veggie lovers.
Let's talk about the kid's menu – it looked like they had some fun options like pancakes and fruit salad. Since I was on a night train, I didn't get to try any of the kid's menu items, but they looked delicious.
One morning, I caught a glimpse of sunrise through the window. It's lovely to see the sun peeking out more often as spring arrives! Inside the train, everything's spotless, including the bathrooms. You'll always find toilet paper and other essentials on hand.
Each car has a button to call the conductor anytime. My neighbor had his TV blasting at 3 am, and I called the conductor, who politely asked him to turn it off. It was nice to have that option to keep the peace.
Sadly, I didn't earn enough points on my RZD bonus card during this trip, but I'll keep accumulating them for future rides. Don't forget to add your card number when buying tickets or enter the trip later on the website.
I'm thoroughly satisfied with my trip – I got some rest and enjoyed the service, food, and scenic views. If I had the chance, I'd take the Express train again in a heartbeat!
Thanks for reading!
