Editor's Summary
I recently ditched my old eyeshadow palette for single shadows, and I'm loving the space-saving benefits and flexibility. Elian's sparkly shadows caught my eye, but I was a bit skeptical about the packaging and build quality. After trying them out, I'm happy to report that these eyeshadows deliver on their promise of vibrant colors and decent longevity. However, there are some trade-offs to consider, especially when it comes to the packaging and customer support. Elian's sparkly eyeshadows are a solid choice for those looking for a budget-friendly and easy-to-use eyeshadow solution, but you might need to weigh the pros and cons before making a purchase.
Specifications
Hello everyone!
I've recently made the switch to single eyeshadows over bulky palettes, and I'm loving the space-saving benefits and flexibility it offers.
So, I ended up trying out the sparkly shadows from Elian.
The shadows come in a pretty and stylish cardboard packaging that's pleasing to the eye, with soft colors and patterns characteristic of Elian's brand.
You can find all the necessary product information on the back of the packaging.
The container itself is a round disk made of good-quality plastic that feels solid in your hand.
The transparent lid allows you to carefully consider the shade before making a purchase.
I was a bit concerned about the consistency of the shadows, but they're actually semi-creamy, soft, and pliable.
The shadow composition doesn't contain any large particles, and the grind is very fine and uniform.
Applying the eyeshadow is a breeze, and they blend evenly and densely when picked up with your finger.
There are 8 shades in the Elian line, ranging from calm and neutral colors to bright and accent shades.
I opted for the 07 Quartz shade, which looks like a cool, white platinum on the palette but gives off a gorgeous, shimmery effect that shifts from pink to light blue when applied.
My Experience with Elian Eyeshadows
For me, eyeshadow is all about accentuating the eyes, so I try to make my eyes the focal point of my look.
I start by applying a base color to help the shadows blend and last longer – it's a must-have step in my eyeshadow routine.
Next, I apply my usual eyeshadow look, using a light, matte shade on my mobile lid and a medium brown in the crease for depth. The outer corner gets a darker shade to really make my eyes pop, and I finish off with a shimmery topcoat for some extra oomph.
I apply the eyeshadow with my finger, tapping it into the center of my lid. The result is a smooth, even application that doesn't get cakey or flaky.
The shimmery effect is subtle and delicate, and the eyeshadow doesn't feel heavy or sticky on my eyes.
Longevity
While the base color does help the eyeshadow last longer, it's not a game-changer. By the end of the night, the color starts to fade, and it's not as vibrant as it was when I first applied it.
One thing I do like is that there's no fallout under my eyes, which is a major plus for me.
Overall, it's a decent option for a daytime look, but I think I'll need to touch it up for a night out.
Value for Money
I'm happy to say that the eyeshadow is pretty economical, as you only need a small amount to get the job done. I think this shade will last me a while.
Removal
I've found that any old makeup remover works great for taking off eyeshadow. The colors come off easily without having to scrub my eyes.
Overall, my experience with these eyeshadows has been really pleasant.
Here are some pros that stood out to me:
The multi-chrome finish is gorgeous, with a really subtle shimmer They're super easy to apply The texture is really soft and flexible They blend together beautifully It's easy to touch them up throughout the day
As for cons:
Over time, the colors do start to fade a bit
