Hey guys, so I'm back with part 1 of my review. Last March, I finally managed to get some time off and headed to the beach for a well-deserved break. When we're on vacation, we always plan to check out some local attractions on the first day. Otherwise, we might end up feeling guilty about wasting our time just lounging on the beach and eating/drinking. That's just my experience, though - to each their own. We booked a few excursions, and one of them was a quad biking safari. We had two options: either catch the sunrise or watch the sunset. We went for the sunset (we wanted to sleep in, have a leisurely breakfast, and get ready at our own pace, and of course, hit the beach for a dip).So far, so good. This is part 2 of my larger review. One thing that caught me off guard was when a guy with a camera showed up during the excursion, offering to sell us the photos and videos. Honestly, it's up to you whether or not you want to buy them. I've heard that many people are happy with the photos on their smartphones, so it's not a necessary expense. That being said, we ended up buying the additional photos and videos, but my husband managed to negotiate a good deal with the operator. He asked us to keep it on the down low, but it's worth noting that some people paid twice the price for the same thing. The next day, we picked up the disk from the reception. If you're planning on buying the photos from your excursion, I'd recommend negotiating the price. Here's the thing: after we all got settled into our quads, we set off towards the sunset in the desert. The terrain was rocky and bumpy, but the views were breathtaking. I was a little nervous at first, but my husband got the hang of the rough roads pretty quickly. I was holding on tight, but it didn't take long before I was laughing and enjoying the ride. The road to Dahab is definitely not for the faint of heart. It's a bit of a bumpy ride, but the scenery is worth it. As we were driving, I was getting a little anxious, clinging to my husband for dear life. It was a mix of fear and excitement, and I was muttering some choice words in his ear. The guide was having a blast, zooming back and forth to keep an eye on everyone. We had five people in the group, including the operator and the guide. We chased after each other for about 20 minutes before arriving at the first stop. When we got there, we found out that there were other groups of tourists as well. The spot was pretty cool, nestled in a valley at the foot of a mountain. The guide told us a story about the Bedouins who live in the mountains, and we all shouted out questions and got some pretty funny responses. It was a lot of fun and really atmospheric. We had some time for photos, and everyone split off to take their own shots. We snapped a photo with our guide, and even managed to capture a pretty cool, staged shot. I've left it below.

Next, our guide organized the group and we all hopped on our quads, snake-like, and headed off to explore Dahanab from both sides - the desolate and scary side, and the interesting and mysterious side.

My partner was getting the hang of driving, giving it some gas, and I was white-knuckling, screaming, laughing, and occasionally yelling at him to slow down. It was like the cartoon: a hedgehog crying and getting poked, but still munching on a cactus.

We sped off with the wind in our hair and had another stop.

It was like a Bedouin camp, with a designated spot for tourists. They offered us free tea, and we were warned that anything else was extra. A kid was offering various drinks, and if you wanted one, you paid. The guys in the shack were just chillin', smoking shisha, and completely ignoring us. But they were chatting with our guide and the accompanying staff. The operator was trying to take photos of everyone, putting us in all sorts of fun poses. There was also a representative of the hoofed crowd - a one-horned camel.

I got some great shots of it looking down on the locals, but it was happy to be petted and photographed. And, man, it smelled like a village and manure - anyone who's ever been to a village will know what I mean.

I did ask the guide some questions, and it turns out that many Bedouins living in the desert don't have citizenship because they respect their culture and live the way their ancestors did. I have no idea how many people live in the desert, but it's a lot.

We spent some time there, relaxing, and the sun was setting, so we all got back on our quads and took off after the guide. Our final stop was just ahead, and everyone got to see the sun setting behind the mountains.Last but not least, I want to wrap up my review. I'm still grinning from ear to ear after our safari adventure on ATVs in Sharm-el-Sheikh. The sunset was breathtaking, especially after our leisurely stroll through Dahab. As we were leaving the desert, we stumbled upon a real local market, which is a far cry from the touristy shops you find in Sharm. It was like stepping into a different world, with real Arabs dressed in traditional attire, and an incredible number of them too. This market's definitely not for tourists, as you can't exactly take a camel or a bundle of hay as a souvenir.

The only downside to our excursion was the old ATVs we rode on. One girl's bike was constantly overheating and stalling, but our guides were always there to lend a hand, and the tour leader would call out for everyone to wait for anyone lagging behind.

We returned to the ATV park a bit exhausted but with big smiles on our faces. The park staff were chatty and offered us snacks, and one of them had to deal with a bunch of curious tourists asking him about Egyptian culture. He was hilarious, and I'm pretty sure he got just as much joy out of it as we did.

So, if you're looking for a fun and affordable ATV safari in Sharm-el-Sheikh, I highly recommend it. It's a four-hour adventure that'll leave you with a lasting buzz, introduce you to some amazing people, and give you a taste of the local culture and way of life in Dahab. You'll even get to experience the real 'adrenaline rush' that comes with riding ATVs in the desert. And let's be honest, memories of trips like this will stay with you forever, warming your heart and soul long after you return home.
