check_circlePros

  • The instructor was friendly, but that's about it.
  • You get to practice on the same cars every time.
  • They claim to have a psychologist on hand to help with anxiety.
  • The school has a nice lobby, I'll give them that.
  • They do offer extra classes if you need them, but don't expect much improvement.

cancelCons

  • The exam got pushed back multiple times, and I had already forgotten most of what I learned.
  • The instructor would constantly sugarcoat my performance, making it hard to get a real sense of my skills.
  • The theory classes were a total waste of time - I could've learned the same stuff online.
  • The driving instructor was more interested in making me feel good than actually teaching me how to drive.
  • I had to take extra classes just to get a decent grasp on the material, and it still wasn't enough.

I'll be honest, I wasn't exactly thrilled about having to attend driving school. But, I was determined to learn and pass the exam on my own terms. When I first walked in, they made a big deal about having a psychologist on hand to help students overcome their fears. But, as it turned out, it was all just a bunch of empty promises. The theory classes were a total joke - our instructor would crack jokes and tell stories to keep us entertained, but it was all just a waste of time. I could've learned the same stuff online without even stepping foot in the school. Then, it was time to hit the road, and that's when things got even worse. My instructor would constantly tell me how great I was doing and how I was going to pass with flying colors, but in reality, he was just sugarcoating things. He'd send me to the practice area with barely any cars, just so I wouldn't get nervous. And, of course, when the exam was supposed to happen, they kept pushing it back, first to the beginning of the month, then to two weeks later. I had already forgotten most of what I learned, and I was left with nothing but theory. I had to take extra classes, and that's when things got even more ridiculous. The instructor started treating us like we were some kind of sales team, pushing us to sell Oriflame products instead of teaching us how to drive. And, to top it all off, they kept switching me between the practice area and the city, just to keep me on my toes. By the time I had to retake the exam, I was fed up. And, to my surprise, they gave me a different car to drive, one that I had never even seen before. I managed to pass the exam, but it was a total disaster. After that, I tried to schedule extra classes with the same instructor, but he kept making excuses and refusing to work with me. I later found out that he only taught young women, and after 30, you're not his target audience. He was super friendly on the phone, but when it came to actually teaching, he was a total no-show. I decided to switch to a different driving school, and what a difference it made. The instructors were actually nice and helpful, and they taught us on the same cars that we'd be driving on the exam. And, to make matters worse, they kept trying to get me to take the city exam before I was even ready. When I complained to their headquarters, they finally found me a spot, but on the day of the exam, they gave me a different car, despite my requests. It was a total letdown, and I'm still fuming about it.
