Food delivery has become a staple in our lives, and Dostoevsky was one of the first services I tried out.
Website. You can order through the website or download the app, which sometimes offers a discount or a free pie with your first order. The website's user-friendly, with a card for each product featuring a photo, calories, and a brief description. It'd be super helpful if they included the weight of the dish and the portion size, though.
Menu. Dostoevsky has a diverse menu with pizzas, pies, rolls, snacks, and hot dishes. You can search by categories, but sometimes the dishes aren't where you'd expect to find them, so it's best to use the search function to find what you're looking for.
Prices. They're competitive with other delivery services, but pizza for 1200 rubles is now available at almost all of them, with the only difference being the limited menu. My average order's around 500-600 rubles, and sometimes it's even cheaper, especially when it comes to delivery. Deals like 3 pizzas for 1000-1200 rubles are common in many restaurants now, and some even offer a nearly full menu, which is more than what Dostoevsky's has to offer, with a pretty limited selection.
Delivery. Dostoevsky has a zone-based delivery system, and my usual zone offers free delivery from 500 rubles within 45 minutes. They used to have an offer where if they didn't deliver on time, they'd give you a promo code for a free pizza with your next order. Thankfully, they've never missed a deadline!
We prefer to order dinner for a specific time in advance, and they bring it right to our doorstep, plus or minus almost on the minute. The quality and speed of delivery are top-notch, and we've never had any issues with our orders.
Tom Yum. The soup's thick and has some seafood, but not as much as I'd like. There's way too much rice, and it would be better if they served it separately. The flavor's not too sharp, but it's not exactly what I'm used to. The soup's scorching hot, but not worth more than 3 stars, in my opinion.
Tuna Bowl. The difference between the two orders is less than a month, and the end result was two completely different dishes. The first time, everything was nicely arranged, cut into small pieces. Oddly enough, the bowl wasn't round, though.
Different cuts, huge lettuce leaves for a bowl-sized portion. It's a bit of a shame, really.
The second time, the pineapple was marinated in a super spicy sauce that left me stuttering, there was purple cabbage, and the rice was spread thinly across the bottom. At least the tuna was fresh, and it didn't seem like marlin. It's definitely not worth the price - 489 rubles. After the first order, I could've given it 5 stars, but the second one was only 3.5 stars. Short Ribs. Just your average braised pork ribs, the sauce is pretty tasty, not dry or tough. I'd give it 5 stars, it's hard to mess up a dish like this. The sauce is great, and the portion is generous. 469 rubles - a great value for the price.
Pizza. I've tried their entire menu at one point, and as a student, their pizzas are decent. The thick crust is satisfying, and there's a good amount of varied toppings. But then you realize that the toppings are mostly there because of the thick, greasy sauce (usually just mayonnaise) - it's overwhelming, and the flavors all start to blend together. I've had pizzas from other places that are way better, to be honest.
To be honest, I used to live in a different part of town, closer to the center, and their pizzas were way better. After the pizza place on Akademicheskaya started serving our area, the quality took a huge hit. We ended up switching to other restaurants for a few years, and now we only order from them for everything except pizza. It's just not good - too greasy, poorly cut, and even the quality control is lacking, with some orders arriving lukewarm.
Another thing to note is that their soups and hot dishes are usually piping hot, but the pizzas and pastries can arrive already partially cooled down. It's a bit of a bummer, really.
Hachapuri. We ordered the Megrelian-style one. Even from the photo, you can tell there wasn't enough cheese. The pastry was already slightly cooled down, and the cheese wasn't melted properly. The flavor was decent, but it was clear that the cheese was the main issue - it was too mild and not salty enough. The only saving grace was the delicious pastry (although, to be fair, there wasn't much else to it). The price was 469 rubles, which is 200 rubles cheaper than what you'd pay in a traditional Georgian restaurant.
I'm not a fan of their Ossetian pastries either. Maybe it's because we used to get them as a free gift with a large order, and then we'd eat them the next morning. As a result, the pastry would be a bit stale and not very tasty. On the other hand, these pastries do have a lot of filling.
Sushi. I've got to admit, I don't have any photos of my orders, but the rolls aren't the biggest, size-wise. Still, they're a great value for the price - around 400 rubles for one roll. And the best part is, you can always get a smaller portion if you want. I've never had any issues with freshness, undercooked rice, or weird textures. But... the presentation could be better. They're not always tightly rolled, and sometimes they look a bit messy. On the plus side, the flavors are spot on. I'd give the taste a 5, but the presentation would get a 3. At 319 rubles, it's a bit pricey for what you get.
Nuggets and fries - the perks of being a kid! I haven't tried them myself, but my son says they're similar to McDonald's. Not exactly the most exciting thing, but I guess that's what you'd expect. The price is 298 rubles.
The fries were pretty standard, but I found them to be a bit soggy, not crispy at all (although that might have been due to the timing). Compared to the nuggets, I think the price is a bit steep - 229 rubles for a big portion.
Pros and Cons.

Fast delivery;Average price point;Variety of options;Loads of promotions;Hot dishes are delivered hot;I love their sushi, bowls, and hot dishes;-
I'm not a fan of the pizza here: it's always super greasy, often drenched in mayonnaise, and tastes pretty similar every time - it's a real heavy hitter; The rolls and sushi can look pretty intimidating at first;Even the dishes I order regularly can vary in appearance and ingredients; The website doesn't even list the serving size, which is a total bummer; The Verdict. Maybe my husband and I are just weird, but we're just not into the pizza here - we never order it, it's just not our thing. In general, the rest of the menu is pretty good and won't break the bank. The key thing is that the shipping is always on time: when you're starving, you'll eat just about anything.
Of course, I still prefer to order directly from my go-to restaurants - it's worth the extra cost for my favorite dishes.
