I'm kicking myself for not discovering DOMZHUR Cinema sooner. It's tucked away in the Dom Zhurnalista building, a Moscow landmark I've passed by countless times. The experience was way better than I expected, and I loved the cozy atmosphere and unique film selection.

I'm kicking myself for not discovering DOMZHUR Cinema sooner. It's tucked away in the Dom Zhurnalista building, a Moscow landmark I've passed by countless times.
When I saw that a documentary film I'd been itching to see was playing, I decided to give it a try. And let me tell you, it was a great decision – not just because of the film, but also because of the cinema itself. The experience was so much better than I expected.
As I turned into the courtyard, I was a bit skeptical – there were no signs or posters advertising the cinema. But I decided to take a chance, and I'm glad I did. I mean, who needs flashy signs when you have a cozy atmosphere like this?
The cinema itself is a bit quirky, but in a charming way. It's not your typical multiplex – it's small and intimate, with a cozy atmosphere that makes you feel like you're in a private screening room. The seats are comfy, the temperature is just right, and it's easy to get in and out.
There are two screens: one with 30 seats and another with 100 seats, both showing 2D films. The seats are brand new, super comfy, and soft – perfect for a relaxing movie experience. I ended up spending way too much time in the lobby, just enjoying the vibe.
The location is another major selling point. It's just a 5-minute walk from Arbatskaya metro station, making it super convenient to get to. And once you're there, you can easily explore the surrounding area and grab a bite to eat – there are plenty of options to suit every taste and budget.
The ticket prices are very reasonable, starting from 250 rubles. That's a total steal, if you ask me. I mean, you can easily spend way more than that at other cinemas in the city.
So, if you're looking for a unique cinema experience in the heart of Moscow, be sure to check out DOMZHUR Cinema. It's a hidden gem that's definitely worth discovering. Plus, the staff is super friendly and helpful – they'll make sure you have a great time.
One more thing to love: DOMZHUR Cinema shows films in their original language with subtitles, which is a great touch. So, be sure to keep an eye on their schedule and catch a film that interests you. I'm already planning my next visit.
