My Love-Hate Relationship with Dolya: Why I'm Frustrated with the App

summarizeEditor's Summary

I downloaded Dolya, a shopping app that initially caught my eye with a catchy ad featuring a cheerful girl. I was stoked to try it out, especially since my favorite store, Golden Apple, was listed. But my experience has been a mixed bag, with some frustrating moments that left me wondering if it's worth the hassle. Here's the lowdown on the app's pros and cons.

Hello!
All screenshots are mine.
I stumbled upon Dolya while browsing a popular video hosting site. I was bombarded with an annoying ad featuring a ridiculously cheerful girl doing acrobatics under a low-hanging pole. The image was divided into four parts, but I still don't get why it was four instead of three. Anyway, the ad did its job: it caught my attention.
I've used Dolya a few times. I was excited to see that my favorite Golden Apple store was listed, so I decided to give it a try. There are tons of other stores on the platform, but I've only ordered from three so far. I'm not sure if I'll order from the others, but it's possible. The interface is super easy to use. The main page has clear categories, and you can shop from stores like clothing, cosmetics, perfume, kids', sports, and even pet stores. It's a great feature, but I was surprised to see that not all the big names are on the platform. I noticed that L'Amour (which I hadn't seen before) and the aforementioned Golden Apple, Randevu Perfume, and Sima-Land are on there.
Most of the other shops I've come across are either fly-by-night or completely under the radar. At least, I've never heard of SuperStep, Parfum-leader, or any of the others from the Far East. But hey, maybe some people order from them all the time.

I've got a spending limit with the app, which is 30,000 rubles. I'm not ordering big-ticket items, to be honest – there's no point in it right now. And I wanted to order some cosmetics from Golden Apple, but now we're getting to the meat of this review. Why is it that our app is so toxic, like it's all the rage to say now?
I downloaded the app to order from Golden Apple, mainly. I use the other shops just for kicks, but I've only managed to order from Golden Apple twice.
Why is that? It's all because the app started refusing to accept my payments. So far, it's only happened with Golden Apple, but who knows what the future holds.
I reached out to customer support with this issue, and they initially suggested I place a smaller order. Okay, I did that - for 1000 rubles, with shipping included. Unfortunately, the smaller order wasn't an option, since it wouldn't allow me to split the payment. But even with this larger order, I got rejected multiple times.
I would've understood the rejection if I'd been late with payments or always placed small orders. But I got rejected even when I tried to place a larger order through the app.
Customer support didn't offer any helpful explanations - they just sent a generic message saying the rejection was due to the app's policies, without explaining why. It's frustrating, especially since I'm a good customer who pays on time. It feels like they're just trying to avoid processing partial payments, but that's not a very customer-friendly approach.
I decided to try placing a similar order through a different app, and I've also got plans to test it again in another store, as well as visit a physical ZYA store to see if I can pay in installments there. If I get rejected again, I'll be done with this app for good.
I'm torn between loving and hating this app. I'd recommend it, but be prepared for the possibility that you'll get rejected for payment without any explanation. And good luck getting any help from customer support.
