Dishwasher Tablets on a Budget: Perekrestok's Best Kept Secret
Gallery

Specifications
I've had our dishwasher for two years now, and I'm still blown away by this invention! I don't get people who have dishwashers but still wash dishes by hand. I've noticed that some people have to ration water and energy to avoid running a half-empty machine, which is only 60 cm wide.
I've got two kids, and with the start of the lockdown, we've all been stuck at home. There's always a ton of dishes to do, so I load up the dishwasher twice a day.
We actually went three months without a dishwasher when we had to move into a house that wasn't finished being renovated.
But luckily, Jundo's dish soap saved the day!
Now that the dishwasher is back in action, it's been running non-stop like it was before. I mean, for three months straight!
When it comes to choosing tablets for our dishwasher, I'm a gel fan, then powder, and only tablets as a last resort.
So, here's the thing: we always go for the cheapest option, but one load shouldn't cost more than 10 rubles. Ideally, it should be around 7 rubles.
📌 DESCRIPTION
▪︎We bought these tablets at Pyaterochka. It's a completely new brand to me.
▪︎The price is 200 rubles for 30 tablets! That's less than 7 rubles per tablet!
And to top it off, we got a discount using our loyalty program, so we paid only 45 rubles for the tablets. Talk about a steal!
The tablets come in a compact box with some pretty bold claims:
Apparently, it's a 7-in-1 formula. Yeah, right!
The packaging includes the ingredients, manufacturer, and expiration date:
And there's a ton of information on how to use the tablets and safety precautions:
The key thing to note is that 30 tablets weigh 600 grams. That's a pretty heavy box!
So, what's inside? Just a standard mess of pills. Each one's wrapped in a water-resistant cellophane:
The pills are cheap, and they look the part.
Here's a photo comparing Econta pills to those fancy-schmancy, overpriced ones:
No fancy color layers or separate 'rinse aid' inserts here.
By the way, we always rinse the rinse aid separately!
📌 USAGE, RESULTS
One pill per use, duh. We toss the cellophane and pop the pill into the dispenser.
I rarely leave my PMM half-empty. It's usually chock-full.
The pills do their job like champs!
Check out this skillet before and after a PMM wash with Econta 7-in-1 pills:
The difference is night and day!
Plastic lunch boxes and utensils come out sparkling clean, too. I hate washing this type of plasticware, though.
This plastic plate after a PMM wash is spotless and not greasy (just a bit drippy):
And here's the whole clean dishes section:
▪︎ I'm stoked that the pill dissolves completely in the dispenser! No need to scrub it out with a sponge (some PMMs start to 'clog' and leave residue behind). Econta didn't have this issue:
Pros::
I've gotta say, these pills are probably the cheapest PMM tablets out there. They're amazing at cutting through grease on dishes - even the toughest ones.No artificial fragrances, which is a big plus in my book.Cons::
Each pill comes in its own individual packaging, which I'm not a fan of. I wish they'd use a plastic container with a tight-fitting lid instead of individual packaging.
I'd definitely recommend these! The pros far outweigh the cons.
