Maggie's Egg Diet

I've tried a bunch of diets, but Maggie's Egg Diet is the one that's stuck. It's ridiculously simple: just focus on egg-based meals and you'll get the nutrients you need without breaking a sweat. No fancy recipes, no weird ingredients - just eggs and a clear plan to help you reach your weight loss goals. If you're looking for a straightforward way to manage your weight, this is the diet for you.

My 7kg Weight Loss Journey on the Maggi Diet: Was it Magic or Not?

summarizeEditor's Summary

Losing 7kg in a few months is no easy feat, but I'm here to spill the beans on how I did it. I started with home workouts and a diet, and the Maggi Sit 30 app was a total game changer. It's super convenient, and the meal plans are actually pretty tasty – I mean, who doesn't love a good balance of fruits and veggies? After a week on the diet, I noticed a significant change in my body. My energy levels increased, and I felt more confident. I'm not gonna lie, it wasn't all sunshine and rainbows – I experienced some constipation, and it's definitely not cheap. But if you're willing to put in the work, I'd say it's worth every penny. The app is super user-friendly, and the community is super supportive. You can connect with others, share tips and advice, and get support when you need it most. Of course, it's not suitable for everyone, so make sure you check the contraindications and consult with a healthcare professional before starting any new diet or exercise program.

Here I'm wearing size 32 jeansHello everyone!
After having my baby, I found myself stuck at 80 kg. I gave myself a six-month window to recover, and then I started working on my body.
I decided to start with home workouts and a diet. I downloaded the Maggi Sit 30 app on my phone, and it's been super convenient. As it turns out, I'd already been following a similar diet, but with some minor menu differences.
***********************************
It's hard to talk about my problem areas, since I feel like I'm one big problem area at 80 kg.
I've got a bit of a bigger bust (it might look small to some, but to me, it's huge – I'm used to a smaller cup size, and I prefer that), round cheeks, broad shoulders (which would be more angular if I lost some weight), thighs, butt, back, waist, stomach, sides, and arms...
I'm one of those people who needs to get in shape, and I'm not exactly thrilled about it. Even with clothes on, I'm not exactly feeling confident. But when I'm out in public, I get compliments left and right - 'you look so much better,' 'you're so feminine now,' 'having kids really suits you.' Um, no. To me, that's just code for 'you're curvier now, and that's somehow more attractive.' Not my thing. I'm not going to get into the whole hormone thing, but let's just say I didn't exactly diet for two reasons: I ate whatever I wanted, and I drank two to three energy drinks a day. I'm surprised I didn't gain more weight, honestly.
Since I'm not breastfeeding, I didn't follow any special diets for nursing moms. So, I went all out: fatty foods, fried foods, baked goods, sweets, and my guilty pleasure - sushi, which, funnily enough, I've even learned to make myself with a fix-price rolling mat.
Here I'm wearing size 32 jeansLet's just say it's going to take some time and effort to get back in shape!
The Maggi diet is a protein-based diet with minimal carb intake. For the first two weeks, the menu is dominated by eggs, meat/chicken, and grapefruit. The next two weeks feature vegetables and fruits. There's also a cottage cheese option, with a slightly different menu.
As with any diet, there are strict restrictions:
• The big no-nos for me were adding honey or sugar to my tea or coffee, and starting the diet without a clean slate. If you break the rules, it's considered a slip-up and you're supposed to start over;
• I also had to steer clear of booze altogether – any slip-ups here are considered a full-on diet fail;
• Other foods that were off-limits for me included dates, figs, avocados, grapes, bananas, and dried fruits;
• I had to stick to a 4-hour gap between meals – skipping meals was a definite no-no and considered a slip-up;
• And finally, I had to stick to the menu as is – no swapping out ingredients or substituting similar foods;
I did have to get a bit creative with my meals, though – when I didn't feel like eating the veggies on the menu, I'd have a tomato instead. And when I didn't feel like having grapefruit, I'd have a pear instead. It wasn't ideal, but it helped me stick to the diet;
Minus 7 kg on the Maggi DietSo, at the start of this review, I weighed in at 79.1 kg with a height of 169 cm. I started the diet on 5 December and it's due to end on 31 December;
First week
1 day
Here I'm wearing a 32-inch waist sizeMy weight in the morning was 79.1 kg;
My waist measurement under my bust was 92 cm;
My waist measurement was 86 cm;
My hip measurement was 99 cm;
My thigh measurement was 110 cm.
My menu for the day was:
pineapple, 2 hard-boiled eggs;5 small mandarins;beef and pork patties cooked on steam.
Day 2
Menu:
2 boiled eggs;boiled chicken thigh;2 tiny slices of Borodinsky bread, toasted without oil, 2 boiled eggs (I messed up here, according to the menu it should be 1 egg) and one large tomato.
Day 3
Weight in the morning - 76.9, total weight loss for 2 days - 2.2 kg, and that's with my period on day 2.
Menu:
2 eggs and a few chunks of pineapple;1 large tomato, Tofu cheese, a slice of Borodinsky bread;Beef patties cooked on steam.I lightly toasted the bread and cheese on a dry frying pan.
Maggi diet
Day 4
Weight - 76.8 kg, weight loss - 100 grams, and I'm feeling pretty down about it
I also want to note that I didn't have any 'stool' issues over the past 3 days
I measured my parameters:
Under my bust - 89 cm, minus 3 cm;
Waist - 84.5 cm, minus 1.5 cm;
Abdomen - 98.5 cm, minus 0.5 cm;
Hips - 109 cm, minus 1 cm.
I've noticed that my midsection and lower stomach tend to hold onto fat longer than other areas, like my thighs and hips.
Here's what I had for the past few days:
2 hard-boiled eggs and a few slices of pomegranate;I had 3 kiwis for lunch, and since it's a low-calorie fruit, I think it might be helping with my weight loss;Cooked chicken breast with a tomato.
Day 5
My weight in the morning was 76.1 kg, and I've lost exactly 3 kg over the past few days.
Here's what I had for breakfast:
2 hard-boiled eggs and 2 slices of pomegranate;Green peas and an egg;Canned salmon in its own juice and a tomato.I've been having some stomach issues, but I think the tea I started drinking might be helping.
Day 6
My weight in the morning was 75.4 kg, down 0.7 kg. I've lost a total of 3.7 kg over the past 5 days.
I feel incredibly light and comfortable! I haven't experienced any hunger pangs or cravings to cheat.
Here's what I had for breakfast:
2 eggs and 2 slices of pomegranate;3 red apples;I pan-fried some beef patties without oil and then simmered them in tomato sauce.
Day 7
My weight in the morning was 75 kg, down 0.4 kg. I've lost a total of 4.1 kg.
Not bad at all!
Here's what I had for breakfast:
2 poached eggs, half a pomelo;Chicken breast and green peas;Green peas.
Second week
8 day
Weight in the morning - 75 kg. I got up, and I read that this happens.
I decided to take body measurements after completing the first 7 days of the diet. I measured myself after lunch, not in the morning.
Chest - 87.5 cm. Minus 4.5 cm from the start of the diet;
Waist - 84.5 cm, minus 1.5 cm from the start of the diet. Nothing changed in the last 4 days;
Stomach - 96.5 cm, 2.5 cm less from the start of the diet;
Hips - 107 cm, minus 3 cm from the start of the diet.
*As a result, I lost 4.1 kg and 11.5 cm in 7 days of dieting.
Menu:
2 poached eggs, half a pomelo;Grilled chicken patties, 1 tomato;2 poached eggs.
9 day
Weight in the morning - 74.9 kg, lost 100 grams.
Menu:
2 Eggs;Chicken breast and tomato;I didn't want eggs anymore, so I ate 3 mandarins.
10 day
I didn't weigh myself. I don't want to. I want to know my weight on the 15th day, and I'll take body measurements too.
Menu:
2 eggs;Roasted chicken patties;2 eggs.
11 days
I live in a rural settlement, and we have two small local shops and two chain stores, Magnit and Fasol. Neither of them had pomegranate or grapefruit. I didn't feel like going to the city in -30°C, so I've been without them for two days.
Menu:
2 eggs;I cooked string beans with garlic and tomato, then added 2 eggs and seasoned it with a mix of peppers. It was filling and tasty. I couldn't find low-fat cheese, nor sour cream, so I replaced it with 100g of 5% cottage cheese;Water omelet from 2 eggs.
Maggie's Diet
12 days
I couldn't take it anymore! I weighed myself! Since the last weigh-in, 3 days ago, I've lost 700g. Since it's going so well, I decided to measure my parameters.
Weight - 74.1 kg, total weight loss - 5 kg;
Under the bust - 86.5, minus 5.5 cm from the start of the diet;
Waist - 82 cm, minus 4 cm from the start of the diet;
Stomach - 93.5 cm, minus 5.5 cm from the start of the diet;
Hips - 105.5 cm, minus 4.5 cm.
Menu:
Minus 7 kg on Maggie's Diet
OMELETTE;SMOKED SALMON;I made a fruit salad with apple and baby food fruit puree.
When I went to the store to grab some groceries in the evening, I opened the app to check what I needed to pick up for the next day. And I was totally caught off guard! I mixed up the days, I was supposed to make a fruit salad for tomorrow, but I ate it today. So, I guess I'll be having eggs for dinner tomorrow...
13 DAY
MEAL PLAN:
OMELETTE;BAKED CHICKEN PATTIES;2 HARD-BOILED EGGS.
14 DAY
MEAL PLAN:
EGG, I COOKED JUST ONE;I STEAMED STRING BEANS. I MADE CHICKEN PATTIES ON THE STEAMER WITH ZUCCHINI, CARROTS, ONION, AND GARLIC.FOR DINNER, I HAD THE SAME THING AS LUNCH + 1 TOMATO.
PHOTO TAKEN THROUGH A MISTI FINISHED MY SECOND WEEK ON THIS DIET. WHAT CAN I SAY?
It's been a week of plenty, with eggs galore - I couldn't even see them all, let alone eat them. The dehydrator's been my constant companion, and I've been drinking, drinking, drinking, but still couldn't seem to quench my thirst. As for the weigh-ins? Yeah, they've been pretty small this week, but I expected that, given the initial water weight loss. Despite that, I'm still super happy with the results! Last night, I had a ton of tea, and I'm pretty sure I didn't get rid of all the water, plus I didn't have a bowel movement.
Third week
15 days
Weight - 74.2, and that's no minus or plus 100g from my last weigh-in, with a loss of 800g in the second week.
Params:
Under the bust - 86.5 cm, down 5.5 cm from the start of my diet;
Waist - 81.5 cm, down 4.5 cm from the start of my diet;
Hips - 92.5 cm, down 6.5 cm from the start of my diet;
Thighs - 105.5 cm, down 4.5 cm from the start of my diet.
*A whopping 21 cm lost in just two weeks!*
Visually, I can already see that I've lost some of that extra weight!
Next measurements and weigh-ins in 7 days
Menu:
Following my plan, I've been eating as many fruits as I want. I had two servings - one big apple at 8 am and two cooked in my slow cooker at 7 pm. I didn't feel hungry at all.
16 days
Menu:
Back to veggies. I steamed up some zucchini patties with carrots, cabbage, and garlic, and added a meat seasoning for flavor. Served it with a side of sautéed green beans. Divided the meal into two portions. I also made a delicious and light soup, kinda like borscht... Used fermented cabbage, carrots, and onions, and added a beef cube from Maggi for extra flavor.
Minus 7 kg on the Maggi diet
Soup turned out to be super tasty and easy to digest
17 day
Menu:
I'm still enjoying the soup and some apples.
18 day
Menu:
Vegetables and fish for dinner.
19 day
I managed to squeeze into my size 27 jeans, although my stomach and sides are still a bit puffy.
Looking forward to Monday for my weigh-in and measurements.
Menu:
Vegetables and chicken for dinner.
20 and 21 day
On the 20th day, I couldn't resist and decided to weigh myself and take my measurements.
Weight - 73.3 kg, lost 900 grams in 5 days, total weight loss - 5.8 kg;
My waist measurements have been pretty impressive - 85.5 cm around my bust, down 6.5 cm from the start of my diet; 80 cm around my waist, down 6 cm from the start of my diet; 92.5 cm around my hips, down 6.5 cm from the start of my diet; and 105 cm around my thighs, down 5 cm from the start of my diet.
*A total of 24 cm lost so far!
My menu has been pretty simple - I bought 2 kg of red apples and that's been my main source of food.
4 Weeks
I've been sticking to the menu for the most part, with a few slip-ups - like having coffee with sugar and milk, and on the third day, I caved and had some blini with sour cream. Since the first round of the diet ends on December 31st, I'm not planning on weighing myself on January 1st, as I'm expecting to indulge a bit during New Year's Eve. I'll reschedule my weigh-in for January 4th.
***************
For my second round of the diet, I started at 74 kg (I gained a bit over the holidays), and I've decided to stick with it for only one week.
***************
And the results? I've lost another 2 kg in just one week!
So, in total, I've lost around 7 kg in just 5 weeks on this diet.
And here's a photo of me from the side.
My jeans are the same pair I've been wearing, and I can definitely feel them sitting a bit looser now.
My favorite big jeans have been slowly sliding down, and I've been having to pull them up all the time.
I slipped into my Adidas shorts, which used to fit me only up to the middle of my thighs.
I also slipped into my old, trusty Levi's jeans, size S, which I thought would be too small, but I was able to zip them up.
I've been putting off writing this review, thinking I'd go back on a diet in April-May, but I just didn't have the motivation. After the diet ended, I gained back 1kg, but my measurements stayed the same!
Since I still have some extra weight to lose, my next diet will be a yogurt-based one.
Thanks for stopping by!
