A Game-Changing Hair Salon Experience in Khamovniki: Is Culture Beauty Worth the Splurge?
I recently had the pleasure of visiting Culture Beauty Salon in Khamovniki, located at Big Savvinsky Pereulok 16/14, building 7, and I must say, it was an incredible experience.
The salon is situated in a separate one-story building, and it's nicely decorated with plenty of space inside. The right side of the salon features two clean and well-stocked restrooms. I was impressed by the overall cleanliness of the salon – it's spotless, and the maintenance staff deserves a shout-out for keeping the place tidy.
The staff at Culture Beauty Salon are super friendly and welcoming. Not once have I had a bad experience with a gruff admin or someone who's unclear in their response. They'll even offer you a cup of tea or coffee and notice if you've finished your drink and offer to get you another one.
The salon has around 10 workstations and four sinks, but I've never had to wait for a free spot. There's always plenty of space and no queues in the waiting area.
I've been going to Culture Beauty Salon for complex coloring procedures. The salon has several categories of stylists: junior, master, senior, top master, and art director. The prices and service time depend directly on the stylist's category. For example, a junior will do a color correction for 25,000 to 45,000 rubles, while a top master will charge 45,000 to 60,000 rubles. A junior will take around 5-6 hours, while an art director will finish in 4 hours.
I usually go to juniors, mainly for the cost (juniors charge 12-17,000 rubles, while senior stylists are closer to 30,000). But aside from the price, I generally like the approach of younger stylists. Culture doesn't just take anyone off the street; the selection process is quite rigorous, and juniors seem to take a particular care and concern for their clients.
I think my last procedure should've been called 'ultra complex coloring' instead of just complex.
About six months ago, I decided to save some money and go to a different salon, which unfortunately didn't do a great job.
And this time around, my stylist at Culture was particularly meticulous about applying the lightening solution to my hair, carefully going over each strand to avoid over-processing and damaging my hair.
Six and a half hours after working on it, the bleaching process was done by strand. From start to finish, including the haircut, the whole procedure took 6.5 hours. That involved applying the bleach, coloring the roots to blend with the previously colored strands, and toning.
I got lucky with the stylist this time around (I'd be happy to share more details with you if you're planning to visit Culture - just send me a message!). I didn't really know what I wanted, I didn't bring any references, but after just a few questions, the stylist nailed it and gave me the exact shade I was going for.
I really appreciated the tips the master gave me on how to take care of my hair at home. He explained the whole process, from bleaching to toning - all Davines products, by the way.
The final cost of the coloring and haircut this time was 13,000 rubles. It would have been even pricier, but Culture has a 7% discount for cash payments.
Of course, it's all subjective, but I think with my hair length and the result I got, plus the haircut - it's basically a gift.
My previous coloring at another salon cost 11,500 rubles, but first, it was a partial coloring, and second, they used cheaper materials, which immediately ruined the quality of my hair, plus the tone they left me with lasted on my hair until the third wash. At Culture, I'm always confident in their coloring, just like I am in their service and individual approach to each client. Now, I'll only go to them for future colorings.
I love it and highly recommend it.
