Hey everyone. I'm not exactly a Moschino perfume aficionado, but if I'm being honest, they're definitely more affordable than most luxury brands. I mean, they're accessible to anyone's budget. Their bottle design is a bit quirky, to say the least – it's not really my style, but it does make the brand stand out. Those little mouse designs are pretty iconic.

Today, I'm reviewing the classic Cheap & Chic Moschino perfume, which was released in 1995. I've heard it's a nostalgic scent for many people, but I don't really get that. To me, it doesn't smell like something from the 90s – it's not even something I associate with my parents' perfume when I was in school. Anyway, Cheap & Chic Moschino has a huge following, and it's hard to imagine anyone not loving it. I've only just started getting into this fragrance.

The bottle itself is a bit of an eyesore, if you ask me. It's got a weird red and black design that's just not my cup of tea – I prefer sleek lines, clear glass, and beautiful cutouts. But hey, it does make the brand stand out, and those little mouse designs are pretty iconic.

The fragrance is described as a scent of summer nights - passionate, bold, and unapologetic.

I'll share my experience of trying it out.

At first, it's the sharp, citrusy notes that hit you like a punch - a powerful and intense start that's hard to ignore. It takes about 30 minutes for the fragrance to settle down and warm up on my skin, and that's when the moderate sweetness and freshness of the flowers kick in. I think I'm getting a whiff of cyclamen and lotus, and the wood note is subtle but present.
What's interesting is that the citrus block usually takes a backseat in perfumery, fading fast to make way for floral notes, musk, and woody accords. But here, the citrus stays strong and present even in the heart of the fragrance. Chip off the old block, indeed - it's a correct, bold, and masculine take.

Initially, I thought the fragrance smelled like shaving cream or something, but that's just because it's got a strong aquatic and soapy quality to it. And that's exactly what makes it so unisex - it's a scent that's hard to pin down to a specific gender. If I had to choose, I'd say it's a masculine fragrance, the kind that young, sporty guys would go for. And if I saw it on a guy, I'd probably think, 'Wow, that's a pretty bold, in-your-face kind of scent.' I'm a fan of bold, unapologetic fragrances, and this one delivers.

Let's be real, this isn't a time machine for the 90s or 2000s, nor is it a lip gloss or a hair lacquer like 'Prilest' - it's a lightweight shaving foam, and if the guy's not around, it's likely been left on a pillow and transferred to the pillowcase.
I'd say Chip and Chic has an 'after-care' or 'clean' vibe, but it's not as subtle or delicate as those scents. They're more of a gentle, soothing quality, whereas this one's got a lot of 'oomph' and a hint of grime.

The paradox is that a men's shaving foam or aftershave is all about cleanliness, yet there's a whiff of unclean musk here. This scent lacks sophistication and a certain je ne sais quoi - it's like it needs to be tamed and primped. And that's exactly what happens when it settles down, with the cyclamen and bergamot notes becoming more subtle, the musk mellowing out, and the vetiver becoming more subdued. But even then, you can still sense the masculine character.

Moschino Cheap&Chic парфюм отзывыxa0
This scent is perfect for a woman who's confident, self-assured, and loves a good 'fresh' vibe - but not the kind that fades after 30 minutes. It's a solid, long-lasting fresh scent with a masculine base and plenty of non-sweet, wet floral notes. I can totally see this on a woman like that. It'd be great for a summer day by the river, or for a busy city day, or even just a quiet evening with your thoughts. But in my mind's eye, this scent is strictly daytime - it's not evening material for sure!

Moschino Cheap&Chic perfume - what's it like?xa0
It's got some serious staying power. This stuff clings to your clothes like crazy and you can still smell it on there for 2-3 days. On my skin, it lasts about 7 hours, unfolding and playing out the notes of lily and vetiver before it starts to get a bit dull and monotonous.

WHAT'S IT LIKE?. My favorite part of the review - where I try to find similarities and draw some olfactory parallels. For me, Cheap & Chic reminds me of Calvin Klein Deep Euphoria, which also has that watery, masculine molecule. And for some reason, I see some similarities with Wild Fruits Mancera, but Mancera's got this amazing fruit base that Moschino just can't match, and Moschino's got this soapy theme going on that's just not there in Mancera.

It's worth checking out, if only for its technical specs - it's made well and has found a loyal following over the years. Unfortunately, I'm not part of that crew.
