The packaging is pretty understated - a clear bottle with a black cap. I wish they'd add some protection to the cap to prevent accidental openings. Underneath, the gel itself is super transparent and feels surprisingly soft to the touch, despite its firm appearance. There's no fragrance to speak of.
I've been using it with a clean spoolie from my brow pencil, which I find way easier to work with than the standard applicator. The gel does a great job of laying down my brow hairs and giving them a nice shape, but some of the stray hairs at the ends just won't cooperate - they'll still be sticking up in every direction. If I try to 'glue' them down, they'll just spring right back up after 10-15 seconds.
The lamination effect is definitely visible at the start of my brow - the hairs lie flat and I can shape them to my liking. However, the hold is basically non-existent - I can just run my finger over them and they'll mess right back up. The gel itself isn't visible on the hairs, but it does leave a slightly sticky residue that lasts all day. And if I'm not careful, I'll end up with that nasty white residue.
I've been using it in conjunction with my brow pencil and powder, and the results are actually really nice. I can either apply the gel first and then draw on my brows, or vice versa - but doing it the other way around tends to wipe out some of the product. It's an interesting product, but not quite perfect - I'm still figuring out how to get the most out of it.
