When Comfort Takes a Backseat

I'm sharing my honest experience with this car seat accessory, and I'm hoping it'll help other parents make informed decisions.

I got this car seat accessory from a friend when my first child was born, and it was super affordable. I didn't even know the brand at the time, but my first child loved it and would calm down instantly when placed in it.

When my second child came along, I decided to do my research. I learned that car seat accessories have safety standards, and that became my top priority.

We bought the Carrello Sigma stroller and wanted to find an accessory that could attach to it. The Carrello Nova accessory fit our stroller perfectly after we bought separate adapters (I got it on Ozon for 1500₽). I was relieved to find an accessory that met the safety standards, but I was a bit let down by the comfort level.

One thing I love about this accessory is how easy it is to wheel to the car instead of lugging it in my arms. However, I didn't want to buy a car seat with wheels, since we only use it on weekends and it's not needed daily.

My child gets fussy in this accessory and can only handle 30 minutes of riding before they start crying and arching their back. I've noticed that the headrest is way too tight, and the child can't move their head. If the child has a hood on, there's no space for their head, and the chin is pressed against the chest, making it hard for them to turn their head to the side.

I've also noticed that it's tough to rock the child in this accessory – the base is flat as a pancake. This isn't a huge issue in the summer, but during the winter, it's tougher due to the hood or cover taking up space in the headrest. We had trouble installing the accessory with the stroller's strap, as there wasn't enough strap length. We ended up buying a strap extender, which made all the difference.

One thing I appreciate is that the headrest height is adjustable using a special knob located behind the headrest. As the child grows, you can just lift the headrest up to accommodate their changing needs.

While this car seat accessory has its conveniences, I have to consider the comfort and safety of my child. If you're in the market for a car seat accessory, I'd recommend doing your research and weighing the pros and cons before making a decision.
