Hello everyone!
I'm still buzzing from our trip to Cappadocia with friends. We ended up staying at the Cappadocia View hotel, which wasn't exactly a tough choice - we were visiting during the Balloon Festival and most hotels in Göreme were fully booked, with prices to match. This was the only hotel with three available rooms, which was a lifesaver since we were traveling in a big group. The standard doubles cost 3,500 lira per night, while the triples were 4,500 lira. At the time, the exchange rate was 1 lira = 2 rubles.
Cappadocia View Hotel , Turkey, Göreme reviewsThe hotel is situated right on the edge of Göreme, just a short walk from the balloon launch site.
Cappadocia View Hotel , Turkey, Göreme reviewsIt's not far from the center of town either - Göreme is tiny, and it takes about 7 minutes to walk from the hotel to the main square. There's a massive Burger King right next door, as well as a cafe serving local food, a shashlik place, and a market.
The hotel is bookable through Russian and international services, but we booked directly by taking the hotel's phone number from Google Maps and sending a prepayment via IBAN.
Cappadocia View Hotel , Turkey, Göreme reviewsCappadocia View Hotel , Turkey, Göreme reviewsThe hotel has its own parking lot, which is a huge plus - some hotels in Göreme are situated in such a way that it's hard to even get to them by car, let alone park.
Check-in was at 2 PM, while check-out was at 11 AM. We were checked in within a couple of minutes, and our documents were simply photographed and processed later without us, while we headed straight to our room.
Cappadocia View Hotel , Turkey, Göreme reviewsCappadocia View Hotel , Turkey, Göreme reviewsThe rooms themselves were pretty good - spacious, with an interesting design. The bed linen and towels were clean, and everything was in good condition. The only issues were a few broken tiles on the floor in a couple of rooms, and my room didn't have a hair dryer. They provided one for me on request at the reception, as well as an iron.
One of the things I loved about this hotel was the little extras they provided in the room - slippers, single-use soap, shampoo, and body gel. They also had water, tea, coffee, and a kettle available.
Cappadocia View Hotel , Turkey, Göreme reviewsCappadocia View Hotel , Turkey, Göreme reviewsThe internet in the hotel was available, but it only worked well in the lobby near the reception, in the rooms, and on the top floor. It was pretty much useless everywhere else.
I was really impressed with the breakfast spread, which was from 8:00 to 10:00. It was a bit like a Swedish buffet - plenty of options, and everything was fresh and delicious.
The view from the hotel's terrace was absolutely stunning. You could see the mountains, and it was a great spot to watch the hot air balloons take off in the morning. We'd sit in one of the two gazebos on the terrace with a glass of wine in the evenings, and watch the sunset over Göreme. At night, the chimneys in the mountains were lit up, and it was really beautiful.
