I picked up this eye cream by accident at Fix Price for 199 rubles, which seemed like a pretty good deal for 50 ml.
The cardboard box is pretty plain, but the price is budget-friendly. I liked the light blue design and the label on the packaging - 'eye cream', although usually they write 'cream for the skin around the eyes'.
I wasn't familiar with the Organia brand beforehand, so this is my first impression not only of the product but also of the manufacturer.
The information on the packaging is in Russian, while the ingredients are listed in English. One downside at this stage is that there's no protection against opening - no external or internal foil. Any seller could unscrew the lid and take a peek inside.
The 50 ml volume is a lot for this type of product - I'm used to seeing eye creams in 10-15 ml or 20 ml at most. But this amount really impressed me - it'll last a long time.
The cream is described as 'delicate', which is exactly what I wanted to test - many similar products cause my eyes to swell and water.
The cream is supposed to combat puffiness, dark circles under the eyes, and crow's feet. That's a pretty bold claim.
The box is bigger than the cream itself, but the cream isn't loose due to the unique holders inside.
I've got to say, the packaging is pretty cheap-looking. The plastic is super thin, and it's only a matter of time before it cracks if you drop it. The silver-gray lid doesn't exactly do the product any favors either. A blue lid would've been a nicer touch, considering the 'cornflower extract' is even listed on the label.
On the plus side, they did include a protective lid, which is a nice touch. And it's probably necessary, considering the cream is so economical and can dry out over time. With the extra lid, there's less oxygen getting in, which is a good thing.
I'll say this upfront: the cream is super dense and thick, especially for something around the eyes or on the eyelids. You'll need to massage it in for at least three minutes.
At first, it leaves behind these pesky white streaks, which can be tough to blend out. The texture isn't exactly greasy, but it does leave a weird film on the skin, and your concealer will just slide right off – and collect in unsightly flakes throughout the day.
If you've got dry skin, you can still use this as a base for makeup, but you'll need to use a tiny amount and apply it at least 15 minutes before you start doing your makeup. Otherwise, your eyelids will get all greasy, and your eyeshadow will just slide right off.
I've been using this cream for about six months now, and I've even used it on my face and neck sometimes (usually at night when I'm feeling lazy). And still, the product isn't even half empty. If you use it just for the under-eye area, you'll get at least two years out of each tube.
I've noticed a few things about this product:
One of the first things I noticed is that it doesn't do much to tackle dark circles under the eyes, unless you blend it really well - then it just ends up brightening the skin instead.
It gives the skin around my eyes a bit of moisture, but it's not a lot. I think it would be even better for my face and neck.
It fills in the fine lines under my eyes, but it actually settles into them and looks pretty ugly. Then when I run my fingers over my skin, it just collects in these little lumps.
It doesn't really hydrate my skin, and it doesn't even do much to tackle the tiny wrinkles. In the winter, it actually helped a bit to prevent my skin from drying out, but it didn't really improve it.
My eyelids still get a bit puffy, but it might just be my own skin reacting that way.
The scent is really nice - it's light and floral, and I like it.
You have to rub it in for ages if you're feeling tired - grab another tube if you need to.
It's not suitable for all skin types under makeup. If you've got dry skin, it's okay, but if you've got oily or combination skin, it's best to avoid it.
THE VERDICT: I've tried this cream everywhere - eyes, face, neck, elbows, knees, and décolletage. It's actually best used as a base under makeup in the winter, just to create a layer between your tone or powder and your pores. It doesn't moisturize my hands or elbows, and the dry patches there don't even think about improving. My neck and décolletage are okay to apply it to, but it feels a bit sticky and tight - not my favorite. My eyes get a bit puffy, possibly due to individual sensitivity. My face is okay, but it's not something I'd use every day - it clogs my pores. The only plus is that it's really economical. It doesn't really moisturize, but it smells nice. And in the summer, the texture is too thick and might even make my skin sweat more due to the film-like effect.
I have to say, out of all the promises made, only the filled-in fine lines were delivered, but even that wasn't exactly a plus. I wouldn't recommend buying this, and I'd actually suggest opting for the Hyaluronic Cream from Nevskaya Cosmetology instead (check out my review of it here). I wouldn't recommend it.
