The Brocard Group has a rich history, dating back to 1991 when it was founded in Berlin. Just a year later, they opened up shop in Moscow, bringing with them the traditional values of the original Henri Brocard perfume company, which had been around in Russia since the 19th century.
Over the past 30 years, they've managed to take Russian perfumery to the next level by blending classic heritage with modern trends. The brand collaborates with European perfumers and creates scents that have won awards at international competitions, including 'Perfume of the Year'.
I've got a soft spot for one of their perfumes, Illusions Mirror. But even that one doesn't seem like a scent for everyone - it's more of a mood-based perfume for those who appreciate specific notes.
It was after trying Mirror that I decided to give their other products a shot. The prices for their mainline products are super affordable, so you can buy without hesitation. I ended up choosing their Gems collection.
The Gems line has four scents: Lilac Mist, Evening Flower, Larimar, and Rose Sunrise. I first bought Lilac Mist. The bottle was really cute, but the scent itself was a total miss for me.
So, I had to keep looking and ended up choosing Evening Flower instead.
The perfume was released in 2022, and it's created by perfumer Sophie Truitard.
The fragrance pyramid is quite interesting, with top notes of passionfruit and red currant, followed by middle notes of freesia, rose, and lavender, and base notes of white musk, sandalwood, and amber.
I ordered this perfume on Ozon, and at the time of purchase, it cost me 282 rubles.

The front of the bottle features an abstract, colorful design that really catches the eye.
The bottle itself is rounded and a lovely peach color, holding 50ml of the fragrance.
The spritzer is silver and of great quality, adding a nice touch to the overall design.
The lid's supposed to mimic ametrine, but it doesn't really remind me of this stone. It's more like a type of serpentine or jasper. It fits snugly.
The bottle itself is just lovely. It's a pleasure to hold and display on my vanity. You could even get it just for the collection.
My take on the scent
The fragrance, like the others in the Gems line, is dedicated to the semi-precious stone ametrine.
Ametrine is said to be a stone of balance and peace. If you believe the legends, it was used as a talisman to end wars between warring tribes. Alchemists and magicians used this mineral to summon spirits and uncover hidden secrets. Wearing an ametrine talisman can allegedly awaken your psychic abilities.
To start seeing prophetic dreams, you're supposed to place the item with a pendant near your bed. The stone helps with physical and emotional ailments. It calms the person, chases away bad thoughts, and fills the heart with goodness and positive emotions.
Interestingly, the Russian name for this fragrance is Evening Flower. But to me, the scent doesn't feel evening-like at all.
When I first spritzed Evening Flower, I was hit with top notes of passionfruit and red currant. It's intense, but the top notes are surprisingly soft and gentle. The passionfruit is spot on, giving the scent a fun, vacation vibe, but I had to really sniff to detect the subtle tartness of the currant - it's similar to the way it's used in Just Cavalli Wild Heart, where it's blended into a sweet, fruity, milky mix.
After a bit, fresh freesia and sandalwood kick in, but I didn't notice a big reveal or progression. I had trouble picking out a lot of the individual notes - I couldn't detect rose, lavender, or amber. They could have added depth, but the scent remains light and playful.
Evening Flower fades after about two hours, leaving a subtle metallic echo of fruit on my skin.
Verdict
Evening Flower is a pleasant daytime scent that's perfect for a regular, no-fuss day. I wouldn't wear it in the evening, though - it's a bit too casual and homey for my taste. Still, its light character and cute bottle make it a great addition to a laid-back look.
I'd recommend Evening Flower to a teenage girl - it's not overpowering, not too strong, and won't get a negative reaction from her teachers. It's a great intro to the world of perfumery.
I usually use it after a shower, or on weekends when I'm just lounging around the house.
