I'm excited to share my incredible experience at the Borovnitsa Hotel in Solotcha, a charming microdistrict in the Ryazan region. Solotcha, once a resort village, has become part of the city of Ryazan, attracting tourists with its stunning nature, dense forests, and plenty of attractions. I've visited the Ryazan region multiple times and stayed in many different hotels, but today I want to tell you about one of them.
Solotcha is a microdistrict-exclave in the composition of the Soviet district of the city of Ryazan
As I mentioned earlier, I want to share with you my experience of staying in a hotel in Solotcha. This time, we stayed at the boutique hotel 'Borovnitsa'. We've stayed in Solotcha several times on the Ryazan region, and we really loved these amazing places surrounded by dense coniferous Meshchersky forests. Here's the boutique hotel 'Borovnitsa' in front of us.

THE BUILDING.
I'm going to give you a tour of the building that houses this hotel.
Borovnitsa Boutique Hotel, Russia, Ryazan This hotel has a total of 6 rooms, but trust me, each one is a gem. I was surprised to find out that all the rooms are themed and beautifully designed. You could say that every room is a work of art in itself. 1,200 square meters of relaxation space with a winter garden, living room, billiards room, and gym. Two terraces. One with a view of the monastery, the other overlooking the forest.

THE HISTORY OF THE BUILDING.
I'm excited to share the history of the building with you, which is pretty fascinating.
The hotel's history started back in 1951-1952. At that time, it was the Solotchin district committee of the Communist Party. The building was a two-story affair, with a library and a conference hall for meetings and conferences. Among the relics left behind from that era is a remarkably well-preserved two-meter portrait of V.I. Lenin, a tree embracing a pine, and a garage.
It's known that in 1959, the Solotchin district committee was disbanded, and the building was converted into the first hotel in the village, which was named 'Zagorodnaya'. In the 1990s, the building was acquired by the first commercial bank in the city of Ryazan and underwent renovations.
It was extended by one floor, and a mansard was added. The work was done by Yugoslavs, with incredible quality. Borovnica turned into a luxury villa-style getaway.
The architects and designers created a European classic in Borovnica.
NAME.
I'd like to tell you why the hotel is called Borovnica. By the way, the emphasis is on the second syllable, so it's BorOvNica.
That's how the Yugoslavs named the former hotel building 'Zagorodnaya', with the emphasis on the second syllable. Borovnica, in translation from Serbian, means cranberry. It grows in the Meshchera and in Serbia. So, a simple berry brought together two countries.

Along the route, you can see the places mentioned in Paustovsky's literary works, including the Solutcha River, the Oka River, the Prorva River, Selyan Lake, and the floodplain meadows of the Ok River.
